  1. Awe, I missed out on the bags. Can you tell me where you got them from? Thanks!
  2. It is definately annoying. We did postcards with the stamps right on them so all they had to do was check a line and throw it in the mail. Would take 2 seconds if you already know for sure you're either going or not going. It's no wonder so many people don't want to put postage on their RSVP's...it'll just be wasted moolah anyways!! <--That's what we need, some drinks and to hit these people over the heads!!
  3. Oh what a funny story, Tamasin! You will have a great memory to share forever with friends and family!
  4. I wish I could be of assistance, but I was going to mention the "Negotiable" as well. So mainly just offering my support in hopes that Martin gets a job!
  5. I agree that a good variety would probably be 20-40. Another thing that's nice to see is weddings in various locations...park, church, beach, etc.
  6. I'm so sorry to hear you were laid off, Tamasin. I wasn't laid off but I haven't found a job since we had to relocate for FI's new job. It's been almost 6 months. It has been a struggle. Although it's given me time for DIY projects and training my puppy! That's how I've been trying to look at it anyways. I hope you can find something else soon. We're all here for you if you need to chat.
  7. Ohh, how sweet! What a great engagement story!!
  8. Shelley, all of your pics are just amazing! Thank you so much for sharing so quickly!
  9. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this! I, too, would recommend filing a complaint with the BBB. United States and Canada BBB Consumer and Business Reviews, Reports, Ratings, Complaints and Accredited Business Listings I believe they help get a lot of complaints straightened out. Another option is to contact the Hawaii Government Attorney General to request advice or assistance from them or find out if they have a Consumer Protection division.
  10. I agree that I'd much rather pay to go somewhere amazing for a wedding than...back home. For me, FI and I are about 12 hours from "home" and a friend is getting married there this August. If I wasn't going to be here MOH, I honestly don't think I'd be going back because I found out my plane ticket to get there is going to cost the same as my flight to Hawaii!! Great deals can be found in HI. My family, which is my parents and 3 siblings, got their trip package for under $1000 a person and then plan to eat at the inexpensive places such as plate lunch spots and such (other than what we're covering for them for wedding festivities of course!). My family has never taken a major vacation (it's always been camping in the same state, etc) and were we not having a DW, they probably never would, so this is a great excuse for them! I think the people who mean a lot to you will work hard to get there. If you have a wedding website, include tips for ways guests can save, or even include this in your invitations. We found Maui Revealed (the book and their website) to have amazing tips and advice, as well as Frodors. Good luck! No reason to feel guilty! I felt that way at first too, and it's hard when most adults are choosing not to bring their kids, but I figure for me, I'll come up with something a little special to do for those kids at our AHC.
  11. It looks like you had such a fun time! I love that you got up on the bar!!
  12. Awesome find! I did not know the Dollar Tree had an online store! I also found the hand sanatizers in one of their stores as a 3 pack about 2 weeks ago. So maybe it's still a possible find! Thanks for sharing their website!
  13. I love #1, but they're all really nice, I had troubles deciding!! That dress is gorgeous, you're going to be just stunning!!
  14. How sweet of your FI showing up with flowers at the end! Love the cake. Love the grass skirt as well!
  15. Congratulations Sara! You look beautiful and your pictures are awesome!
  16. Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry. I agree with the others, I think your FI needs to talk to his mom. This isn't something that you should have to deal with!
  17. I'm so very sorry you're having to deal with this. I agree with what the others have said. You in no way have to tolerate this girlfriend of your dads at your wedding or any wedding related events. You need to talk to your dad and tell him it hurts you (or frustrates, or angers, or whatever feeling you're feeling...maybe all of them!) that he would think it's ok for this woman to come to the wedding. She can vacation with your dad, but the wedding festivities are not a part of that vacation. Good luck, hon! Keep us posted.
  18. Welcome, Heather! I am so sorry to hear about how the swine flu has affected your wedding plans! It's great to know that you'll be able to continue with your wedding in another location. You'll find a lot of great ideas on here and tons of support from all over the world!
