Teira's Post Wedding Sale!
[email protected] replied to Teira1031's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade or Freebies!
Can you send me a picture of the vest if you still have it? I can't locate the exact one on the website. -
I live here in Vegas and have renewed several times. I also work for wedding chapel. Here's my recommendation. If you really insist on getting married inside the Paris or Bellagio go ahead. But you will be spending a ton of money and minimal things. You will also only have some prints from the photographer (who works for Cahsman) and they charge $10 per image for the CD copyrigths. Meaning if they took 150 images, you will have to pay $1500 for the CD after the ceremony. Better suggestion...play a small more simple ceremony. You can have a minister meet you somewhere, say in front of the Bellagio fountains, in suite is a room overlooking Paris or Bellagio, The Las Vegas Sign, Red Rock, Valley of Fire, etc. There are ton of places you can have a ceremony. OR have a simple ceremony with a chapel for $200-$500 then have your photos done on the strip afterwards. The latter is my choice. For a small, simple ceremony with 20 guests, try hapel of the Flowers, Chapel of the West, or Wee Kirk of the Heathers. These are also the 3 older, nicer chapels in Vegas and have that historic feel. For photography later, I'm using http://www.gomoxiestudio.com/. I've met with her. She's amazing and open to great ideas, too. Very skillful and very reasonable priced. KEEP IN MIND, whoever it is you go with, you will want the CD of your photos! You will not just want prints and then have something happen to them and then you have not. Negotiate or purchase your copyrights.

I bought a short dress on ebay for only $100 that I am going to surprise my husband and change in to for the pictures on Fremong Street. I was super impressed with the quality and it has tags on it so I looked it up. She bought it from: Ballybridal.com. The quality is amazing and there is real beading, no sequins! Apologize for the poor fit but I don't have anyone to lace it up here with me! http://www.ballybridal.com/allure-wedding-dresses-951-p-2289.html

I agree that she has had good and bad advice and comments on dresses. But calling a bride's measurements mutant is not doing anyone any good. PrettyPig, Just the for record my measurements do not constitute high body fat. My BMI is on the lowest end of average and I work out 5 days a week. My body was built with curves the same as your body was built without them. I think you need to choose your words more carefully. I work for a wedding chapel and every day have to deal with brides who are self conscious about their body image and don't like themselves in their pictures. Nothing is more heartbreaking then having a bride NOT love her photos and have bad things to say about herself when the man that loves her most in the world is sitting right next to her. You have these comments and beliefs, fine. Vettiebean, My family is Irish and we say what's on our mind just as much as any culture. We are here to talk about dresses and quality. If she wants to say have someone take great measurements, good say it. But don't use degrading words like mutant and refer to anyone else's body as belittling as PrettyPig has in the past. Read back several pages and read some of the things that have been said; it will make your stomach turn. This is a brides day to be in the spotlight and I'm tired of seeing brides so unhappy with their body that they can't see the true meaning of the day and of their photos. Keep comments to dresses, construction, and how we can make the most of our amazing day....find another forum to belittle and berate people and use harsh words. Now... don't get me wrong, lol PrettyPigPig fully admits she sometimes doesn't have the best delivery or tact... but I think you get what I'm trying to say. She has really given a lot of time to this forum, including countless complimentary posts, and (REALLY IMPORTANT AND BENEFICIAL TO ALL BRIDES HERE) reviews and researched information on different companies and vendors to help us all save $$$. I don't think an intentionally cruel person would go to such great lengths to give so much advice on dresses... Now let's all get back to those pretty dresses!!

Totally agree with that!!!!! You are celebrating your love..not your size... you should choose to get what suits you and looks amazing on you.....I've been struggling with a different body size for a few years and I truly believe that "I am what I am and that's all that I am" even if I'm not popeye.

If you read back in this forum you'll see PrettyPig is like that. She is very critical of others and size standards. We seem to forget that just about 100 years ago body fat was a sign of wealth and being able to feed your family and bear children. Sizes have changed over the last 60 years. Marilyn Monroe was a size 12/14, however, her measurements were only 37", 25, 36 (which is just a little off from my measurements and I'm VERY happy about that!), which is a 4 or 6 today in bottoms. Being a 00 and having the body of child is not attractive to me. Everyone has their own personal thoughts and PrettyPig has expressed many times that about the way she feels about sizing and curves. This is supposed to about dresses and not about making any one else feel bad about themselves. BACK TO DRESSES: Highly recommend my dress maker for curvy or larger busted girls. They got the D cups right with the perfect perportions, the waist is perfect, and the hips are perfectly done!

So I can't believe it but they managed to get the dress to me today! Just like they said I received it before Oct 20! The dress is very heavy but it is so well made! It looks almost identical to the picture. I will take pics when I can. It is a little tight around my thighs but I need to lose a few anyway. The measurements are absolutely perfect and I could not have asked for any better. They are pricing the dress at $200 and change now but It anyone wants ruffles or rosettes, totally, totally! recomend them! I finally got a good dress!

It is listed under factory-sale but the listing says babyonline throughout. They are now changed their story and just sent me this:"Thank u for ur time. I neve said u need pay for the postage, i mean we lost money in this business only , we will ship the dress to u today. Yes, it is a beautiful dress ,we will be appreciated it if u can give us a good feedback , very thank u . Maybe u can buy more dress from us ,we will try our best to make it and give u some discount ,in fact i see u are a good buyer ,thank u ." Of course, they had said to send $50 more but now they are backing out. So hopefully I should have the dress soon. It appears to be well done so we'll see.

Here is a picture of the finished dress. If they weren't trying to stick me for more money I would be thrilled. I think it turned out wonderful. But I don't think I should have to pay $50 shipping extra because they may have undercharged for the dress. I feel like I'm being scammed. What are your thoughts? How should I handle it?

So help form all who used DHGate. I purchased the dress for 135.70 including free shipping as it said in the ad at the time. Now that the dress is done the seller has changed the listing to read 185.70 and wants $50 extra from me to ship it! She's claiming that shipping wasn't added! I really don't want to pay $50 extra because it was included in the first price. Has anyone else come across this and how do you settle it?
-
I ordered from DHGate from a 98% positive seller Jackson1980. I think their size chart in the add was not the size chart they used to make it. Overall the quality was good but I think if I sent actual measurements instead I would have received the right size. They have agreed to take it back but now I'm out $40 for shipping.

Well, after 1 1/2 years of planning the original wedding and being with my now-husband for 9 years the photos, the ceremony video everything was a mess and my wonderful husband said, "we're moving to Vegas so we can just do it over until we get it right." We've had a few small vow rewenals but it's become a running joke that every time something major goes wrong. So for 1-21-12 which will be out 3 year anniversary, I'm planning the ceremony and photos that I originally wanted. I've been trying for about 6 months now for one of the dressmakers to get a dress right and it has not worked. Each time I've sorely dissappointed by the quality of the dress or the timing. Luckily, I've used paypal and a credit card each time to back me up. I finally came to a conclusion on the blue dress and I will be sending it back. It will cost me shipping but the company agreed to give me every penny I paid. Hopefully, all goes well with the return!

So my dress showed up today and it would be great but....It's totally the wrong size. The bust is 26", waist is 24", and hips are 32". It was supposed to be 35" bust and 26" waist with lace up back and 38". I can't even try it on@ 6 inches in the hips is a HUGE difference. They keep asking me what size I wanted but I just went off of their size chart that they had listed. All in all the quality is good but I'd have to cut my left leg off from the hip to even try it on!

I had them do the sash removable so I can adjust where it sits. Since there's been so many issues with sashes looking cheap from these sellers I wanted the option to do something else, too. I went with a seller I've never seen anyone use on here but they had the dress I wanted, Jackson1980 and I'll be getting it this week which is just 4 weeks after ordering. And I got a free mantilla veil, too. I'm not sure if I'll use it but I can always sell it or pass it on if I don't.

Here is my dress so far from dhgate: And here was the original: I asked to be not organza because I don't like the shininess of organze from most of the chinese makers. The lace is soft and the dress as ordered in light blue. They made a big deal about the quality of the sash so I'm anxious to see that. It will need a crinoline to pouf but I figured as much. I had the top bust made a little higher to accomodate my chest. I would rather have it altered bc it is too big than too small. Can't wait to get it!
