I wanted to get this out of the way sooner than later b/c I knew I would put it off otherwise. I hope I got everything and didn't miss something. Overall our wedding was more than we could have ever hoped for. All of our guests had the best time and raved about the wedding and resort. What more can a person ask for?? Travel Agent Karen Gill (TPI) – Z (if it went that low but since it doesn’t I guess a F will suffice) I could write a novel on all the bad experiences that occurred b/w my travel agent and I but I won’t bore anyone. All I can say is it was so bad that she actually has been ‘suspended’ and is pending termination from TPI. Never meant to get anyone fired but she was beyond horrible at her job and if I did even ¼ of the things she did, or used the excuses she did, I would have lost my job a long time ago. My piece of advice, steer clear of TPI. Signature Vacations – C + Signature is a charter and charters can basically do whatever they want, and that’s exactly what they do. Three months before our departure date they straight up cancelled one of the flights that carried 11 of my family members on it. We ended up needing to find them all new flights and book them separately which was an absolute pain so close to the wedding date. Because we booked over a year in advance we were guaranteed a price match if the prices dropped from the prices we booked at. However when they dropped they only matched prices for a couple of our departure cities and then didn’t match some other cities. It made no sense. They also never told us we could be upgraded to first class until one month before the wedding-and of course by then they were fully booked (or so they said). When we got to the airport we requested the option to get upgraded for free and they were rude to us in response, and then said it would cost us $1200. There was a nice agent there though who went and talked to the Air Transat manager and HE upgraded us for free. So Air transat gets an A+. Their service was great. Resort – A We were very very pleased with our choice of venue, especially since none of us had been there before. The hotel is very very clean and modern looking. We were there over Christmas and while they had some Christmas decorations up it was not cheap or gawdy looking at all. They also had a huge NYE celebration while we were there and it was done up in pink, silver and white and was so pretty. They did a HUGE fireworks show to at midnight that was awesome. There are 5 pools, plus a kids pool- three of the pools are infinity pools. The hotel is shaped in a big U so it’s not too big and makes it easy to find people. The rooms were all gorgeous and again very modern. We were in a junior suite and had a big deck with hot tub that was perfect for all the late night after parties we hosted! Since it was dry season even the Christmas trees were brown! Ha!

Dreams Huatulco are there anymore brides?
*Nadine* replied to ~Andie~'s topic in Other areas of Mexico Weddings
Nic- our ceremony was in english (we actually wrote our own ceremony script and vows to make it personal) b/c we did a symbolic one-not legal. If you do a legal ceremony it will be in spanish with a translator. We didnt want that so thats why we did the symbolic and had a quickie wedding here first. I honestly didnt plan much, you can see my planning thread in the planning thread section. They did all the decoration and flower selection, I had no idea what they looked like or what kind of flowers until we got them RIGHT before we walked down the aisle. Seriously dont stress, they do an awesome job. Add me on FB if you want to see some pics. Bri- no prob! I didnt think they were going to credit us b/c i had asked before and she had told me there were no 'transfers'. But then when it came time to pay she didnt charge us for the extreme 40 glasses of champagne for the champagne toast (supposed to be $6 pp), only charged us for the chair covers once (instead of for the ceremony and reception) and something else? b/c of not having a cocktail hour. We were really happy and surprised! -
Hey girls! We just got home from our wedding and honeymoon and it was amazing!! I am going to try to catch up on everything this weekend but hope everyone had an amazing christmas and new years!

Dreams Huatulco are there anymore brides?
*Nadine* replied to ~Andie~'s topic in Other areas of Mexico Weddings
oh I should mention that my parents were there the week before and they went into town and said they could have made/bought us flowers from in town and made us bigger an djust as nice bouquets for like $15. So, if you are really worried about the costs then you can go into town and go that route? -

Hey Bri! I just got home from my wedding there and it was amazing!!! Even better than I imagined.. anyhoo Ill tell you what we paid.. it was $65 pp for every person above 20 incl in the pkg (we got the ultimate pkg) and the gold menu.. I think the silver menu was $55? We also had kids and it didnt matter, same price for all. We had 62 guests. The flowers were really pricey. The flowers are flown in from Mexico city and the bmaid bouquets were $55 and the size of like an ice cream cone (ok a little exaggerated) but they were beautiful and still looked beautiful three days later. I had 7 bmaids so we just used their and my bouquets as the centerpeices. Gabriela put them in glass vases and they were great. We also paid the $80 for the ceremony speaker system and $150 for the reception system.. no budging on that. She did wave the costs on some things b/c we didnt use the cocktail hour or some other things included in the pkg. I do have some pics posted on FB so if you want to see them send me a PM and Ill add you. any other questions let me know. They seriously made it so beautiful and the beach ceremony set up is perfect!! -

I agree with FMS as well. When I accept to be a bmaid, I go into it knowing I will be spending alot of money. If I couldnt afford it, didnt want to spend the money, or if it would interfere with my gift to the couple, then I would have to say no. I actually give MORE if Im in the wedding party than if I am not. B/c if I am in the wedding party I am obviously really close to the bride and therefore want to give a great gift to my great friend. They only get married once. The last four weddings I was in I gave b/w $200-$300. Its a personal choice though and you know what you can do and so does your friend (hopefully).

*Nadine* replied to olsontco's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Congrats and thanks so much for the review! Your dress looked fantastic on you!! -
Yes she does, she loves it.. She actually lost her job at the beginning of the year (its not very good economy right now for that line of work) so she has now started up her own consulting business and its starting off well. She has a few clients and im sure she will be susccessful. She lives in philly, not in calgary tho.

Nicole Miller dress FU0003 ???
*Nadine* replied to Lorimc52's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
There was a bride on here who wore that dress but I forget her name?? I will try to find here through the reviews, it would have been this year sometime tho. It looked great on her. I would think you could at least get the bows removed but not sure what else they could do. Maybe just take a pic to the seamstress and ask? I also have a nicole miler dress, HG0015 and agree that the one lori posted is really pretty too. Its style number HG0013. -
My bff got her degree in interior design and it was definitely alot of work. She was my roommate and i was in biomedical engineering so b/w the two of us we never saw anyone outside of volleyball! And dont worry kris, im doing it backwards too.. but better late than never! IM doing the evening MBA (tues, thurs and some saturdays) so I will still be working full time.
