really? how come you have so long? We only had 15 days to put down a deposit to hold a room/rate! Which carrier are you going with, Signature? Thats so great they have so long to put down, cause my guests were like 'august 8th, seriously?' becuase our wedding isnt until next new years. I have not gotten any new information yet. I know Jenluvsmike was sent a package of some sort where she had to answer questions etc, but not sure what else. She might be the better one to ask as her wedding is the first of our three. As soon as i hear anything I will let you know, and vice verca!

I think your initial idea of sunglasses is the best.. Thats what we are doing. And I know your saying they aren't forever, but really, either is jewellry.. the girls most likely won't wear it forever, they will grow out of it, just like the guys will of the sunglasses.. Maybe thats just my opinion b/c I grow out of jewellry all the time! I really liked that decanter idea too! Lots of people say flasks, which makes me cringe and think of high school cause thats what i got my high school grad date, but the decanters would actually really last through all fazes (sp??) of their lives..

I honestly think you might be dreaming THats the exact week we are having our wedding in 2009 and we had a horrendous time finding a cheap resort! Everything sky rockets that week. OUr particular resort jumped $1000 pp for that week. Not sure what to tell you cause i know we looked everywhere..

We wanted a destination wedding b/c none of our family lives in Calgary and all our family and friends are scattered across western canada, plus I went to school in philadlephia so I have a ton of friends down on the East Coast of the US. Regardless whether our wedding was in calgary or in mexico, it would have been a destination wedding for almost everyone so we thought why not take it to the beach! We chose Huatulco, Mexico because its somewhere that we knew 99% of our guests had never been before (which was important to us since destination weddings are becoming so popular). We have heard nothing but amazing things about the area and we didnt want to do the cancun/Mayan/cabo area of Mexico b/c those are the most popular places in mexico that people get married and we wanted something different.. And going with the dreams resort was a no brainer for us b/c we had been to a wedding at the Dreams Punta Cana resort this past year and it was amazing-the food, the wedding, the resort.. everything!

Oh my goodness.. For all of those needing to feel better about themselves, I have just the response.. My guests are paying approx $2400 PER person to come to our wedding, so just under $5000 a couple! Everyone is flying out of Western Canada and we are going to the Dreams Resort in Huatulco (its opening Nov 200. The reason its so expensive is not only b/c its a dreams resort, and a new one at that, but also because Huatulco is JUST starting to become a popular destination (still not that many flighst there, and its the one place that its cheaper to go to from canada than the US!) and the kicker is because we are going the week after christmas, Dec 25th to Jan 1, 2010. We have given everyone a year and a half notice though and honestly have not had all that many people comment on the pricing. Everyone knew it would be pricey because the time of year we were going- and we picked that time of year to accommadate our teacher friends, students (cousins, family etc) and people who dont get much vacation time from work-since most people get that week off b/c of xmas and new years. Hopefully that makes everyone feel better! LOL. But in all honesty, we originally thought we would have 80-120 people join us, and we still think we will get that!! YAY!

I am getting married at the Dreams Huatulco Resort on Dec 30th 2009. I just received the Dreams wedding package from my TA yesterday. I can't wait!!

I'm december 30th 2009!! I just want to do everything right now and its soo far away. I am having ZERO luck finding a single dress that I like, so thank god i have so much time!

Hi to both of you! I am also a dreams huatulco bride We are getting married Dec 30th, 2009. I haven't received any wedding information yet either but my travel agent is supposed to be emailing it to me today. If I get it I will forward it on to the two of you. I would not be too worried about the renovations as I was jsut at the punta cana dreams resort this past january for a wedding and they had just underwent renovations as well but you never would have known it! Dreams resorts are all very similar and their wedding pkgs are wonderful. We are super excited! Also-there is another bride 'jenluvsmike' on the Weddingbells.ca forum that I have been talking with and she is getting married there this coming january. keep in touch!

I ordered from savethedatemagnets.com as well and loved them. For under $150 I got 150 magnets, 150 magnet card holders (so it wasnt just a magnet floating around in the envelope), and 200 envelopes. They were bigger than a business card and were not flimsy at all!
