I agree! I have also asked that we do not get thrown a shower -if they listen that will be another thing. My guests are all strewn across north america and everyone is already spending enough to come to our wedding in mexico, not to mention I have 16 gfs coming to vegas in july for my bachelorette party, that I don't want them spending anymore!

Im gonna play devils advocate here. You keep saying you have buyers remorse and you don't know if she will like it or not. You also said she has mentioned she doesn't like oval or pear shaped diamonds, so I guess Im wondering why you picked that ring?? Is it because you liked it or because the jeweller was pushing it? Don't get me wrong its a very pretty ring, but b/c of the two big concerns you already have (not sure she will like it, she has mentioned she doesnt like those two shaped stones) I would probably think about it a little longer. Does your gf normally wear alot of jewellry? Or when she does, is it simple jewellry or vintage? I am sure she will love anything you give her, but I would take a step back, talk to someone who is close to her and then re-evaluate. She IS the one who will be wearing this ring forever. We can all go on and on how pretty we think the ring is, but you should be so pumped and excited to give her the ring you buy for her when you propose because you know SHE will love it. And your definitely missing that feeling right now.

I think June or July but not sure?? I have never really been out in eastern canada (except for vball nationals one year in newfoundland) so we are pretty excited! We only hear great things As for the change of dates, nothing we can do Still bummed about that, but if I must think positively, at least we will be there the day before 80% of guests now so we can hand out the welcome bags to everyone ourselves -my parents were going to do it as they are going down the week before. Just wish everyone could still be there for new years eve as planned, instead of them now spending it on a plane.

hmm.. yah i dont like necklaces with a sweetheart neckline cause I feel like it takes away from it. And I dont like hair half up with stud earings cause I feel naked! haha oh and i should have mentioned both earings are about 1.5-2inches long, so not super big like they may appear in the pics.

yah the vacation group we are going with -signature vacations. They just came out with their winter rates on their website and I guess decided to change the departure dates from what they had told us last august. Nothing we can do,but its hard not to vent ya know?

So my TA just called me and informed me that two of our departure cities (calgary and edmonton) are now departing on christmas eve instead of christmas day!! While the rest of the departure cities (winnipeg, vancouver, saskatoon, regina, toronto) are still leaving on the 25th. Im so frustrated, I didnt know they could do this!! Everyone was so pumped to get christmas and new years eve down there and now we have to tell everyone from those two cities they are going thurs-thurs instead of fri-fri like the rest of the group.. what a bummer, I hope it doenst affect anyone b/c everyone has had this time booked off/switched shifts with other people, for over a year now!

ok I found two different pairs of earings I really like. I already bought the first pair and then I saw this other pair at lunch that I really like too. My girls dresses are green and I like that the first pair has green in them but the second pair is really pretty and feels more wedding like? I will be wearing my hair half up and with no necklace so this will be THE jewellry for my day. I hope you end up doing what you think is best for you. You know what kind of friend you are, and more importnatly your friends know you and what kind of friend you are. Noone else knows that so its impossible for anyone else to judge the situation without knowing you personally.

Its quite formal but if your dress is quite fancy too then it won't matter. If you were going to wear a really casual simple dress, it might look weird with him being so formal and you not. I think as long as you two 'match', you are good!

Of course there is! And my answer is simple; you are going to wear this ring for EVERY DAY for the rest of your life so in the scheme of things, $1000 really is not much. Wouldnt you rather get your dream ring now than 'settle' for a pretty one?? If it were me, I wouldn't want to settle and I would just make it work now b/c I know if I did settle, one day down the road I will feel the need to 'upgrade' and in turn spend alot more money AGAIN to get THE ring..

I think its completely fine. I don't really get all this 'etiquette' stuff half the time. I think its more common sense and just respect for the people in your life. You are inviting them all to the AHR, which technically is your wedding since your just having an intimate ceremony/DW. So they have all been invited so of course they should be invited to the shower too. And like you said, if people don't want to come, they won't, plain and simple. I don't think you should analyze this too much to be honest. These people you want to invite to your shower (and who are invited to the AHR)are probably people in your life who WANT to celebrate your wedding with you in some way, even if you are just having a small wedding that they won't be at.

we aren't doing favors, just our OOT bags. The picture coasters would be nice but I do think they might be heavy??

Ok so I just purchased the last part of my bmaid gifts! Anyone who knows me knows I have an obsession with purses/clutches. I have been looking for fun clutches for the girls and finally found the perfect ones. I got them these lodis clutches in the three colors below (I have 8 girls, so got three pink, three blue and two purple) They will go with the spa wraps that are being done now, when I get them I will post a pic of them as well. note: If any of my bmaids are looking on here and see this, SHAME ON YOU! haha
