hi all I am also a Calgary bride and getting married in just over a month now! woot! I totally lucked out and walked away with a $100 Nicole Miller dress from Evalina Couture down on 11th Ave SW. I ordered all our girls dresses from jcrew.com and got the boys outfits from banana here in town. Most of our OOT stuff we have picked up from the dollar store, although I ordered our travel mugs from 4imprint.ca and I ordered our bags off of ebay. We are not having an AHR b/c that defeats the whole purpose of why we are going away! Nice to meet you all!!

I got my girls spa wraps and Lodis clutches - I went a little overboard on them b/c they are doing so much for me. And my FI got the guys leather bags (like work bags, not briefcases but ones they can take too and from work) from Cutter & Buck. They loved them

Dont worry, I def didnt take offense and I am sure Nat didnt either! I get looked at in disbelief when people ask how many people are in our wedding party, followed by 'so is everyone just gonna stand up front with you' hahah. Sure why not We did invite all of our family and friends though so i could see how it would be hard for you since you are only invited your closest group to begin with. Dont stress too much, its not worth it!

haha well we are having 60 guests and a 14 person wedding party so I guess we are overkill But I dont think the size of your wedding or where you get married should have ANY influence on who you have in your wedding party. I think the biggest stress is also getting people to book

I think I disagree with most of the opinions. I would have no problem with a friend using our wedding week as their honeymoon or with friends renewing their vows. The wedding is one day of the week, or at least thats how I look at it. I cant imagine telling my friends and family who have paid all this money to travel for us what to do with their time and vacation -other than the one day of the wedding. And I dont consider my wedding a 'wedding week', 7 days based around myself?! no way. If it does bother you I would just ask that they do the renewal AFTER your wedding so that you can continue to look forward to your wedding and not have their renewal in the middle of your own wedding and excitement. Hopefully you figure it out and noones feelings get hurt..

Thanks for the review. I think this is a pretty typical review for a new resort. It was the same way when we were at Dreams Punta Cana after it first opened and also at Dreams Huatulco when it first opened. The kinks get worked out tho!

Wait, what did that lady mean Jill? Like they might damage your dress or lose it? Wtf? My dress is also a sample so I am going for my first fitting on Nov 23rd and once its fitted Ill be sending it to the cleaners as well. I will punch the lady if she says something like that to me
