Hello Kristy, It is Velda. Yes, I got a few menus. I got one for Jacques Waterfront Dining, Edge, and also a BBQ Menu,1461 and Piano Piano which is in the same place as 1461 beachfront. I am still trying to decide which one to pick for my Rehersal Dinner. The menues you always customize it to the way you want them. I will foward to you in a few. Do you want me to post it here or do you want me to send to your personal email address. Let me know. How is everything else going? Quote: Originally Posted by Kristy! Hi Trini, Welcome... Glad to see there is another St. Lucia bride out there. When are you getting married? I was going to have my wedding at the Windjammer resort, but I decided to go outside the resort. The resort does have a WC, but I wanted something different, so I decided to contact Awesome Caribbean planner. so, right now I am in the middle of planning my wedding at a Private beach in Pigeon Island. How about your what are you plans. Where are you getting married and having the reception? Kristy, The flowers are beautiful. Nice pick... I having family from NY, CA, and also London. How much are you paying for the tickets? Did you book them already? Right now flights from JFK to St.Lucia is around $700-$780. I was hoping to get them under $600, but given with the 10% discount I don't think that will happen. Quote: Originally Posted by Kristy! For the flights, we have people flying from all different cities (New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Vegas, Columbus, and Washington DC), so we didn't block out seats on one flight. We did the wedding discount which is 10% off a round trip ticket from any airport to the wedding destination. It is valid for one week before your wedding date and one week after it. With a little negotiating, I got them to extend that a little bit, so they can be flexible. Just go to American Airlines' website and click on group travel. It's super easy to set up. Now let's see, a ginger lily. Ah, here we are... Not the greatest pics, but they'll work. I want to stick with all local flowers and I just fell in love with the ginger lily last year. It's not a typical wedding flower, but that makes it special to me! -

Hi Kristy, Actually I was booked with Windjammer to have my wedding and reception there, but I wanted something a different, so I decided to contact Awesome caribbean. I am very pleased with there service and response. They are giving me so many options to choose from. I actually decided to have my wedding ceremony at a private beach in Pigeon Island and doing a full reception at 1461 restaurant which is right by the water. I am so exicted about it. Thanks for all your advice. Hope your plans are going well. -

Kristy, Thanks for sharing your plans. It sounds like you have this all planned out. Everything sounds good. I am sure your guest will be pleased. I am not there yet, hopefully soon. As for me I will have about 25-30 guest. I am planning on having the rehersal dinner Friday evening on a private sunset cruise that the resort has to offer all food and drinks included, so that sound like a plan so far. I know about the 10% discount, but I have another question, did you block off flight dates and locked in rates? Can you do that? How does that work? I haven't decided yet on my flowers, etc. What does the Ginger flower looks like? Do you have pictures. Have fun planning... -

I've never seen where I'm getting married or Villa Capri!) If you want to see some of the views, go to Tripadvisor.com or just Google it. There are grassy areas, ruins from old forts, and of course the beach. You can see Sandals in a lot of the pictures on one side of the island, so that will give you an idea of how close it is. Windjammer is a little bit farther though I understand what you're saying about transporting guests a lot. I'm trying to cut down on that too. How many people are you hoping to have attend? Are you already booked with Windjammer? You sound like you're doubting your decision. If that resort doesn't have a WC, I would definitely recommend hiring one, otherwise you'll go crazy trying to arrange everything from so far away. In response to "are you all set?" Hardly! I'm definitely on my way though. I have not purchased a dress (I've only gone shoping once and that was in January), but I haqve a good idea of what I want. Just waiting to shed a few more pounds. I sent out my wedding invitations on Saturday which I posted on here today. Our favors are going to be the OOT bags and we're going to make a donation to My Vision Foundation. Don't stress out too much! Things will work out just fine, you'll see. Oh, and someone PMed me this morning about my plans. I started a new thread in "The Islands" with my response to it. That may help you a little. Hi Kristy, Yeah, I was second guessing my decision, because I wasn't getting that excitement of something unique I was looking for. I do have a WC at the resort, however I have been looking into having at a a private beach instead or cliff view, something different than what the resort has to offer. I contacted awesome carribean wedding so far I like what they are showing me, so from the looks of things I will doing an outside ceremony and reception from the resort. Hopefully my plans will be becoming all together soon. Thanks for all your information. Hope all is well with you. -

Kristy, Thank you so much. You have been veryhelpful and I am so happy to have found someone who has been to St. Lucia before and getting married there that can relate. Are you all set yet? Have you ordered your favors, dress ,etc? Are you sending out wedding invitations? I hope I am not asking too many questions. I am getting a little stress or I think I have too much time before the wedding. I am not getting the ooo.......... about where I am having my wedding, I was thinking of changing it and having it on Pigeon Island or a tropical Garden something different from what the resort has to offer. How is Pigeon Island is the view and water beautiful? Is it the sea or ocean side? I was thinking of maybe going thru a wedding planner like tropical Alse for more detail and pricing. The only thing I was trying to avoid was not having my guest transport too much. I would rather have the ceremony and reception in one place. I really want it to be beautiful. -

Kristy, Thanks for the reply. Your responses have been very helpful. I am glad I found the site, you guys have been very help. Thanks for the info. I will try to book soon with American Airlines, cause I really don't want the layover and I diffently want to get the group discount. I am staying a Sandals Grande, so that will be cool to walk over to Pigeon Island. Quote: Originally Posted by Kristy! Villa Capri comes with a wedding coordinator, Kris Wagner. I just love her! As for the flights, I was going to book them last week, but then a new flight popped up for our honeymoon (we're going to Excellence in Punta Cana from St. Lucia), so I had to discuss with FI which one we wanted. Now I should be booking tomorrow. The direct flights to/from JFK and St. Lucia are on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays. Definitely try to book your travel on those days. We did the layover in San Juan last year and it just kills your whole day. One other thing about traveling...check out American Airlines' group travel discount. We're getting everyone a 10% discount. The round trip flights from JFK will be under $600. I hope this helps! -

But from the looks of things I don't think it is going to be any cheaper. Kristy did you book direct or did you go thru a wedding planner in St. Lucia? Although I am getting married at the Windjammer I am getting nervous that is not going to be the way I want it. Maybe I am just worried about nothing. -

Really, I did not know Pigeon Island was only walking distance way. That is good to know since I will be staying at Sandals for my Honeymoon too. I was thinking of getting married at Pigeon Island, but I chose to do at a resort to make it easier and less expensive. -

I am keeping my fingers crossed. I really want the direct flight. Did you booked your flight yet with AA? How much are you paying? Did you find your dress yet? I haven't even start to look... My guess is that Sandals would offer the all ziplining one (which is the one I think I'd prefer). Do you know if the tour starts in Dennery? -

Hi, Glad to see there are other St.Lucia Brides out there. My date is set for June 2009, but I am a little worried, I didn't pick the right place. First time to St. Lucia for us and also my family and friend. I have my Fiance's mom who has never travel before, so I am a little worried she won't like the place. I wanted to have my wedding at Sandals, but they do not allow kids , so I had to pick a family place. Does any one know of anyone who got married at the Windjammer? -
Thanks everyone for welcoming me... I am so happy to be planning my wedding but a little nervous. Hope your plans are going well. Congrats........
