  1. I was thinking about doing the seashell boutonniers, yours came out great...any suggestions?
  2. Doesn't look familiar I will keep an eye out though, sorry...good luck
  3. Ok so I have said this before but I work in fashion and specialize in dresses... One of the HOTTEST trends right now is tie dye, ombre effects and dip dying which all look similar to Gwens dress, The best part is it ranges from expensive gowns to sundresses. So I am sure you will find one you love. Try brands like OC by Oleg Cassini, Donna Morgan, Zum Zum, Niki, Nightway, Adian, Niteline, Nordstrom and Lord and Taylor should have this style available
  4. Welcome from another Jamaica Bride.. It is all a lot to take in at first but this site has ppl. and great ideas. You will want to do all of them but see which ones fit in your budget and time line HAPPY PLANNING
  5. Here is a link to a affordable STD website...They say their sales last a day or 2 but a new one starts when the one posted ends. It is 20% now but 50% last time I looked...take a look WEDDINGS
  6. Love the tags and what a nice touch to personalize them all. When are you handing the tags out (before or during the trip)?
  7. Congrats from a fellow Jamaica Bride...Good luck happy planning
  8. Welcome, these are some of the most amazing girls I have (never) met. Everyone is so supportive and creative. Enjoy your planning
  9. My resort takes FOREVER to respond to everything. They are on island time and I am a crazy fast NYC bride. They took so long to get back to me with dates I just flew down there and picked my day and yet I am still having problems communicating to get everything else settled. Waiting is def the hardest part. I booked my wedding having less then a year but for a DW I think it is less stress.
  10. This is such a horrible situation. You need to go back to and speak to the owner but you must be nice and calm do not go bridezilla. No one wants to help someone who is nasty or yelling at them. This is a hard situation to stay calm in...Did you sign anything when you dropped off or picked up your dress if you did read it over and over and make sure you did not sign your rights away and see if they have a guarentee of any kind even if it it is hanging on the walls in handwritten on construction paper and use that. Chances are they will want to fix it with no problems no one wants to hurt someone especially a bride. good luck and keep us posted
  11. I am totally having the same problem but with only 9 months to convince him. I want him in a suit since my dress is not as informal as I thought it would be. He images himself in shorts/pants and a untucked shirt...My question is if I am getting the wedding of my dreams and get to pick what I imagine wearing on my wedding day why doesn't he? But to think of the 2 of us in our pictures 50 years from now it makes me sick to think I would be in a beautiful wedding dress and he will be in a untucked shirt and shorts but then I think if I am looking at those pics 50 years from now together does it really matter what we are wearing or does it matter that I knew he was happy and we didn't have to bicker over his outfit of all things. So I guess what I am saying is... if he is a good dresser you should have faith in what he picks and maybe don't show him what you are wearing but show some similar pics from a mag so he has a clue what you will look like and what will match with you and your environment.
  12. Wow I am shocked I had no idea he was that sick. We will miss the humor he brought into the world.RIP
  13. How about... shorter layers and long side sweep bangs
  14. Congrats on the big day it is finally here. I hope everything goes as planned or better
  15. Oh my god it is gorgeous I would def keep it. A great looking dress looks great anywhere
  16. I am so glad some of you girls agree with me my FI and friends think I am crazy but I totally see Ray Pruitt in Memphis
  17. Love love this show I have been watching this family grow up ever since the 1st our special that followed them around while she was pregos and giving birth. Even my very manly FI loves it we always watch it together
  18. That show is nuts but I am still baffled by the episode a few weeks ago a blonde who was re marrying her husband/xhusband she was horrible especially to her teenage girl I was shocked that anyone could be so selfish and mean and loud. That show scares me to think of how crazy brides get and loose sight of what is really going on it is the day you get to marry your best friend and start a new chapter of your life together who cares if the flowers didn't show up. Now don't get me wrong I will stress every day until that day when there is nothing you can do but roll with the punches
  19. If you LOVE the dress take the deal...did you try calling the designer? If there is a cutting ticket for other orders (from anywhere/any store) that have not been completed yet they can tag you on to the order. I also work in garment district in NYC I specialize in dresses if you let me know the designer name I can call if I know them ...PM me I don't do a lot of bridal but worth a chance
  20. We are not big collectors but I do like monkeys especially the hear no, see no, speak no evil ones and my FI is a fire fighter so we started collecting antique fire stuff
  21. Ok so yeah the W is a great hotel but so last year...The Gansevoort is the trendy place this week It is not in Times Square but it is a short train/cab ride away. Manhattan Luxury Hotel | Hudson River | Gansevoort | New York City Hotels
