show us your rings!
LadyN replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
You ladies ALL have beautiful rings!! My FI picked out my ring based on only 2 things I said..." White Gold band and Princess/Square shape" I LOVE my ring. I went to BlueNile.com to get a clear picture of it. He bought it from his family jeweler in San Francisco. Yay for pretty rings!!! I love it and my future hubby -

But my FI isn't too sure about the location that I like (in pictures). We'd want the Carribean Terrace for cocktails and dinner. SO...I want to have 3 top choices, in case we don't like something about one of the locations. Le Mereidien seems beautiful and the pictures you've all posted have been a HUGE help. I just started emailing back and forth with Ernesto. We're planning a site visit this October and plan on signing our contract and putting our deposit down. I've still got a little while before making it official

The answers to these questions could help you decide between Casa and Hilton, if you can't do site visits. [/url] Hi Jessica! Congrats on the dress...it's beautiful!! Our wedding is going to be between 50-60 people. Since we've decided on doing a Catholic ceremony, we'll be doing it at a local church. Reception will have to be outside...as long as mother nature doesn't decide to crash in! So since my last post, I've decided that worst case I have the June 26th (Friday) on "hold" with CasaMagna. I finally got an email from Fernanada with the link to the "Proposal" website...but I didn't see any prices. Did I miss something?? I emailed her asking for pricing so I'll probably hear from her in a week or two. Do any of you ladies have pricing for 2009?? I would love to get started on reviewing that ASAP. -

Let us know if you have any questions and congrats on your engagement! -Jessica Hi Jessica!! Thanks We haven't done a site visit yet, but we are planning on doing one in October. Still no word from Fernanda...but hopefully soon...Very soon. I just got an email from Josephina from CasaMagna telling me that someone else is requesting the same wedding day as me and are ready to SIGN a contract...EEEKKKK. I'm so not even ready to sign yet. Worst part is my FI forgot his cell phone at home this morning so I can't even call him to freak out right now. This is why Plan B's were invented right? Right. Now all I need is Fernanda to email. What I love so much from the website, for the Hilton, are all the activities they have for your guests...if they choose to stay there. I am soooo glad I came across this thread, cause possibly loosing CasaMagna doesnt seem so bad if the Hilton is on the list too. This process takes SO long. Wish me luck. I'll definitely be back to ask more questions. -
Hilton Brides!
LadyN replied to Jessica&Adam's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hilton Cancun Ladies...you are all SO awesome with the information you've all provided on this thread. I just emailed Fernanda a few days ago to get a quote, so I'm exited to hear back...but from what you've all said I'll be very patient waiting for her reply. Indy...Congratulations on your wedding! My FI and I are actually hoping (crossing our fingers) on getting married June 27th, 2009! I'm still trying to narrow down my choices, CasaMagna is one, and then I came across the Hilton thread. I just HAD to contact them. Their hotel is BEAUTIFUL...from the website anyways. Wish me luck! -

I have attached the questionnaire we used when meeting with the Wedding Coordinators, and also a quick pro/con list of each site. (See tab 2 in the document.) We were searching for a location that could accomodate a wedding for 100 people. We also wanted something that would be easy for our guests to get to, and a place where they would feel comfortable. We ended up touring the Hyatt Cancun Caribe, Hilton Cancun Golf & Spa Resort, Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort, Casa Magna Marriott, JW Marriott, and Le Meridien Cancun Resort & Spa. We were probably looking for different things than most people (for example, we're planning to get married during football season, and with many football fans in attendance, a sports bar was imperative to us). I'm guessing most people wouldn't care about that. So, our review may not apply at all for what you're looking for, but I know a lot of people don't get the chance for a site visit, so I thought I'd post this just in case it helps someone. Overall, even if you don't get a site visit, I think you'll be fine wherever you go. They have truly made a business out of this, and while we liked some resorts more than others, I think we'd be fine anywhere. It really just depends on what you're looking for. I have pictures of each place as well and I will try to post them in this thread this evening. If you have any other questions about the sites we visited, just let me know! We asked a million questions! Thank you SO much for posting this Thread and attaching your review. I have taken a TON of notes based on what you and the rest of the gals had to say about the hotels. Super important points...especially about the beach!

Mini Tequila Bottles

Not that I'm appointed to speak on behave of all Mexicans, cause I'm only one of MANY, but the tequila my FI and I would like for our guest would be the mini Patron bottles. The mini bottles run between $6.99-$9.99, depending on which type you want (we'd get the Silver). We both enjoy tequila and have tried different types. Honestly, everyone likes something different. If your budget is about $5 a bottle, I'd suggest getting the bottle of DonJulio cause it looks really nice. Once everyones had a few drinks, they're not really going to care what it tastes like. And if they don't like tequila, they're not going to drink it anyways...they'll either keep it or give it to one of your other guests. Hope this helps! Mini Tequila Bottles
LadyN replied to cancunbride's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Hi Ladies. I came across this thread and thought the mini tequila bottle idea was great. I don't know what the price for these are in MX, but I did find a website for the Mini bottles here in CA. They only ship in CA, which isn't too helpful. If I come across anything else I'll be sure to post it. Here's the website Product Search - BeverageWarehouse.com -
I'm exited to see the episode!! Good luck ladies!! It would be sooo cool to see someone from BDW on the show

CasaMagna Marriott Brides?

Just make sure you have the back-up plan all set and everything to your liking. We didn't see the back up room until we have to begin the ceremony. They pretty much just moved everything that you paid for indoors and not compensate or anything for the view that you lost. I'm SO sorry you got rained out! This really sucks 'cause I was hoping for a June 27th wedding for next year. My future father-in-law can't get any vacation time until afer June 20th. This is really bumming me out...I'm sure not as much as you were on your wedding day. Thanks for posting this though. I'm really going to have to re-think my date. Anyone else gotten married this July and been rained out??!! -

Catholic Ceremony

I AM THINKING OF HAVING THE WEDDING AT EITHER MOON PALACE OR AT DREAMS CANCUN. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ? HAS ANYONE HAD A CATHOLIC CEREMONY AT DREAMS ? I KNOW MOON PALACE HAS A CATHOLIC CHAPEL (GAZEBO) ON THE RESORT (looking over the water) BUT MY TA SAID THAT MOON PALACE IS A REALLY BIG RESORT & THAT DREAMS IS SMALLER (more intimate) RESORT FOR THE WEDDING PARTY. NOT SURE...ANY SUGGESTIONS? INFO? Mariola...I just got information from the WC at JW Marriott/CasaMagna Marriot. They have a beautiful private Gazebo overlooking the ocean. They do have permission to hold Catholic ceremonies, as long as you go through your church for permission and then get it approved through the Catholic church in Cancun. I tried attaching the PDF that has the details, but it keeps saying "failed upload". I'd be more then happy to email the info to you. PM if you'd like for me to send it to you. I haven't had the pleasure of visiting yet, but I'm REALLY exited to check them out. They have the total cost break down pertaining to the set up, church fee and everything else. Hope this is helpful! -
Ashley...would you mind posting pictures from your trip when you get back?? I would love to see the different locations you and your mom go to. My FI and I wont be able to make a trip until Oct. i hope. I still haven't narrowed down my list, but I hope to real soon. The locations you'll be looking at are some that I'm interested in. Also...would you mind taking pictures of CasaMagna...I'm looking into them too...if you dont mind. Thanks!
