  1. Hi there! If you can, I would suggest doing a welcome/rehearsal dinner in downtown Puerto Vallarta as opposed to Nuevo Vallarta. I am getting married at Casa China Blanca also, but staying in Nuevo Vallarta and planning on doing the dinner in PVR so guests can see the charming town it is. There are lots of great restaurants..depending on what type of food you are looking for..let me know and I can recommend some with good views.
  2. Anyone who has booked China Blanca decided on a resort for their guests to stay at? I'm looking into resort and thinking of Dreams Villamagna. Anyone have any other ideas?
  3. Hello future brides! I know there are already a number of Dreams VM threads, but I thought it would be helpful to start a new thread with brides who have now gone to Dreams VillaMagna and come back and can tell us what they thought about it. I'm getting married at Casa China Blanca in January 2010 but am about to book/(and guests book) Dreams Villamagna to stay for the week with my guests for the wedding. Since the resort is new, there aren't very many reviews of people who have actually stayed there on the forum. So if anyone has any reviews of it, I would really appreciate it. I am interested in knowing if it lives up to the Dreams name (as I know part of it is a condo?). I am so excited to hear Susana's review as she just got back. Happy Planning. Sandy
  4. Nuevo Vallarta is about 25 minutes from the villa. Puerto Vallarta is about 45 minutes. I will likely be there this July too! When is your wedding? As an FYI - if you rent a bus, when you get into the neighbourhood, they won't allow big buses on the street so you will have to switch over to little vans or something.. no big deal but just wanted you to know for booking buses. The quote I got was around 500$ too. Sandy
  5. Thanks for sharing your pics! Very helpful! I think my guests and I will stay there! It looks really nice and new
  6. Hi Ladies. I have booked Casa China Blanca for my wedding for Jan 2010, after doing a ton of research on villas everywhere from Punta Mita to Mismaloya. I too did it sight unseen but hear it is amazing and I have a ton of pictures of weddings that have been done there from my WC and my future mother in law visited it for me as she lives down there. If you would like to see them, feel free to send me a message and I can forward them to you. I am going to provide a bus to and from as well. My guests are going to stay in NV as it is much closer than PV to the villa (but will definitely go in to PV as it is the best town). I'm not sure if you know the area well but my fiance is actually from there so if you have any questions, please feel free to email me. A WC is a good idea for a wedding at a villa as they are a bit more difficult to organize on your own than at a resort, assuming your budget permits. I'm using Dazzling Details and they are awesome. They pay attention to every little detail, are so helpful and tell you like it is. Happy planning
  7. Davina - I'm originally from Ottawa but live in Toronto and getting married at Casa China Blanca too! I booked it site unseen too but hear it is amazing. My wedding is January 2010 so I will be sure to send you some pics if you'd like. Do you have a WC? I'm using DD and they are great. Klila - Villa Mediterreano looks beautiful.. awesome idea to do dreams and then the villa!
  8. I originally looked into it - I think it is adults only so that may be something to consider if you have any children at your wedding. It is a beautiful property - all the Velas in Vallarta are.
  9. Hi there! I am about to book China Blanca too for my wedding in January 2010. Where are you planning on having your guests stay?
  10. Hi Jessica, After searching about a million villas, I'm about to book Casa China Blanca for my wedding... I was wondering if you have any pictures that you could share with me? I would really appreciate it! Thanks!
  11. If you are looking to get married in a villa, there aren't that many in Nuevo Vallarta. There are more in the Conchas Chinas / Mismaloya areas (South Vallarta), there are some in Bucerias (just north of NV) and there are some in Punta Mita (about 25 minutes or so north of Nuevo Vallarta). I have been looking into every villa possible to get married at and still haven't decided...if you need help with having someone to look into villas, send me an email and I can refer you. I also know puerto vallarta like the back of my hand as my fiance is originally from there. In terms of weddings, if you were to get married at a resort, I would go with Dreams Puerto Vallarta. If you are looking into a villa, I can recommend a few, depending on how many guests you want, if you will be staying at the villa or want event only... I am getting married in January 2010 and have been spending a lot of time researching villas.. hopefully I can make up my mind soon!
  12. I was told that the Crescencia owner is hard to deal with, in addition to the owner at Valerie. I hadn't considered renting both quetzal and serafines...sounds like a neat idea.... I agree that china blanca is very modern and I decided not to go with it..I want something a bit more traditional. I promised myself by the end of this week I would book something...whether it just be to have it at dreams or at a villa..so we shall see! Thanks for all the info and thoughts!

  14. Thanks everyone for the advice! I really appreciate it. My fiance (although we live in Canada) is originally from puerto vallarta so a lot of my guests won't be staying at the resort since most of his family and friends live there ...so that's originally why I thought a villa might be a good idea and I could bus my friends/family from the resort. I'm going to check out Playa fiesta and if not, Dreams it is (which is supposed to be lovely)! Also, if anyone has questions about PVR in general (ie. restaurants etc), feel free to email me, I know it very well. Thanks again.
