  1. Welcome and congratulations! I live in Gainesville, Florida, where are you at?
  2. Thanks for posting this thread. I am gettting married at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya, and I have been trying to negotiate our fees there also. The package includes 8 people for ceremony for $1300 (seems a bit high, but whatever) and then we have to pay $20 pp over the 8 people. I asked to have that waived since everyone will be resort guests, but she said no and if we didn't want to pay the $20 pp we would only have 8 chairs, cake and champagne for 8.. I am not sure that I agree that it should cost that much. Then we want a private reception, so another $45 pp for that. It is frustrating feeling like I am paying regular catering prices when we are already paying for AI rate. But, I figure big picture, we are still spending way less than having in the US... but it feels like a rip off and makes me annoyed. Any advise would be appreciated, but I feel like lots of people probably try to get this stuff waived with no luck..
  3. HI! I live in Gainesville, FL too! I am actually from Northern California pretty close to Mendocino... and my fiance's name is Josh... crazy!! Hopefully we aren't dating the same person.. hahaha.. when and where are you thinking about getting married?

  5. Such a cute idea! I think it will only be my 2-yr old niece at our wedding, but I SO want to make one of these. My mom got me a sewing machine, but I havent used it yet.
  6. www.vistaprint.com Ladies - here is a great deal that I found. I ordered tons of stuff, STD magnets, RSVP postcards, tshirt, pen, hat, letterhead, post-it notes. It is awesome and you just pay for shipping. You can customize your stuff, they have tons of templates, or you can upload your own photo for a fee. You can only order one of each item for free, but you can get more free stuff if you just place multiple orders. Shipping is pretty resonable, especially due to how much stuff you can get. 9. seriously, that is awesome. I am brainstorming on how to make something for the door that you can hang that says where you are. Or maybe some sort of adhesive whiteboard.. I know others have just done the post-it notes and pens for the door, so maybe I will save myself the trouble. I dunno, I am going crazy here with all these ideas! But- thanks for the aftermath logo, I am using that. And I do like the personal door hangers, I will go find that template!
  10. Ya, I did a lot of research and found vistaprint to be the best deal. I think I am going to order magnets too for our STD. Is it tacky to do a tentiative rsvp on the website, not formally in mail? We will still do a formal invite and rsvp later.
  11. I like the idea of the boarding pass STD with tentiative rsvp. I think I am just going to do std magnets with online rsvp. Then formal invitation with formal rsvp. I like the passport for all the info just before or at the wedding. I am about at the same stage as you, just trying to figure out what we want to do.... so many choices!
  12. Good advise about the dark transfer paper. I just got the transfer paper for light fabric not thinking about it...
  13. Wow, sorry to hear all of the troubles with that vendor.. but as I am in search for mugs right now, good info for me to know. Thanks all for posting your feedback
  14. I agree on can over bottle, but I have been to a few AI's and the cups are probably even too small for koozies.
  15. ooohhh... chap stick on a leash... that is perfect for a chap stick addict like me!!! Thanks for the post, I will have to check this stuff up.
  16. My mother just got me a sewing machine as our pre-wedding gift, so I am thinking about making wristlets for the ladies to use to keep their keycard and a few dollars in it. Might make them a little larger so I can stock them with some handy stuff like gum and chapstick
  17. Well, this has inspired me to add so many things to my list. My FI is going to kill me... haha
  18. I know what I am doing this weekend... Thanks for the post!
  19. That is great! Thanks for posting!! Sounds like a great gift for my friends that are big fans of shots... Should be a fun wedding!
