I'd thought I would participate even though we haven't sent invites out yet. I think some family is coming out for the 8 nights we are. Others are coming just for 5 nights $1190 (Room & Tax - $85 pp/pn) for 7 nights occupancy (double) - cheapest room option possible at your resort (NOT including airfare) 60 # of invites sent 30 # of guests expected Grand Palladium Riviera Maya Resort Name ?? 4 I think # of stars of resort

I was thinking the same thing. Our color is navy blue, so I was going get some navy blue sand, but also use the beach sand. -
CocoBongo - transportation
hanna replied to maa413's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I am looking to do Coco Bongo for our Bachelor/Bachelorette party for our wedding June 2009. Wanted to update this thread and see if anyone has any new input? I was looking at AGI tours (waiting for a quote) and Lomas Travel ($500 for a bus for 25ppl). Any input?? We are staying at the Grand Palladium, Riviera Maya. -

I saw a post on this a few days ago and people were also recommending a frame from Lowes - which I ended up purchasing. It was around $20 with shipping.

It is so great to hear that you are so strong and ended it before the wedding! I was with someone for 6 years and knew that it was wrong but didnt know how to get out of it. He was verbally abusive also, none of my friends liked him... finally I found out he cheated on me and I was actually glad because it was an easy out. I went to Mexico a month later with my girlfriends, it totally helped! Partied it up and felt truly happy for the first time in a very very long time. Being with someone that is manipulative is so dangerous because it sucks you in. Once you are out of this crappy part of adjusting to a different life, you will realize what a great decision you made! Congrats for being so strong!! I really admire you!

We are getting married June 5 at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya. I have been working with Rocio the WC and Olga, Room Reservations manager Ceremony: 5:00pm on Kantenah beach. >Music: just recorded music. Might do a 3-piece band, but trying to keep costs down. >Decor: We opted to not have the red carpet, so instead Rocio WC will sprinkle rose petals (free of charge). We are going to either make our own chair ties or omit them. I don't like the color choices the resort offers. Will have flowy white canopy for ceremony. >Cost: $1300 for ceremony. We are bringing our own reverand she they are waiving $250 of that. Includes 8 people (bride, groom and 2 guests). Each additional guest is $20. I tried over and over to get that waived, but no luck. She said you don't have to pay it, but then you just get 8 chairs, cake for 8 and champagne for 8. >Arranging for cart/train to pick up our guests at 4:45pm at Kantenah lobby to take to reception site. Reception: private reception at Gran Azul from 7pm-11pm. >Music: No band, just recorded music - they will set up mic, cd player and speakers. If you don't hire the band they cancel it. Usually at La Laguna and Gran Azul there is a band playing until 11pm. >Cost: $45-55 pp depending on the menu you choose. Set menu, meaning you have to pick one meal that everyone has. >Decor: white fabric ceiling decor with lights. Package says it is $150, but trying to get for free... Package includes on flower arrangement for head table. Hurricane candle holders come on each table. You can purchase additional flowers (around $45-50 per) or bring your own decor. Rocio said you can mail a box to her attention with decor. Room Reservations: Working with Olga, the reservations manager. Set up a block of 15 rooms at a cost of $85 pp/pm AI. We put down one night deposit on the 15 rooms (or $2580) which is 100% refundable until 15 days prior to arrival. Paid with credit card authorization form. Balance is due 15 days prior to arrival on one credit card - meaning you cannot split between different people's cards. We are having people mail us checks a month prior. Annoying - but this was the only way to get a low rate. We also suggested to our guests to go through a TA or online to book room/airfare packages on their own. We mostly did this block as a courtesy to our family to make the trip affordable. Ok, that is all I can think of for now..

Kohls coupon code: NEW7706 works for 10% off. Not much on the $15 frame, but thought I would post anyway. You can get 15% with Kohns card, and free shipping over $75, but I only needed the frame -
omg, I can't believe she was so RUDE! But good for you for standing up. I really believe in a DW cause then you can weed out people like that and really only have people at your wedding that truly care about you.

If Bianca doesn't want the smaller ones that are still available, I will take them. Thanks!!

If you are talking about the Riviera Maya, Mexico.. I am in the same boat with you. I finally got the room block locked down with the rooms manager. Now just working on finalizing the details with the wedding planner. If there is anyone that has experience with Grand Palladium, Riviera Maya, let me know!

Nolaroy's LONG EDR Wedding Review w/Pics!!!!
hanna replied to nolaroy724's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Congratulations and welcome home! What an awesome review, thank you for all of the details. My FI was the best man at his cousin's wedding at EDR and loved it. -
FIESTA HOTEL GROUP Here is the link to their website, the one in Jamaica right? You can put a request in to get the wedding package info sent to you. In Mexico, I am doing the private reception, but it costs $45 pp on top of the $1300 ceremony fee. Also, the package only includes 8 people so they are trying to charge us $20pp for everyone over 8 people, but we are trying to get that waived.

I have only gotten info on Grand Palladium, Riviera Maya. Their wedding package is $1300 for 8 ppl. The group rate directly through the hotel is $85 pp/pn ai

Momentous Mendocino Marriage Proposal!
hanna replied to Madbride2009's topic in Share your Wedding & Engagement Stories!
We are having it at the Grand Palladium, Riviera Maya. It is so overwhelming to pick a resort, so that is so great you had a head start. There are lots of people on this forum that have or are getting married at Dreams Tulum so that is a great resource for you. Unfortunatly I don't think there is anyone getting married at Grand Palladium on here... so hopefully it will all work out well.. Yes, I hear you on the budget.. we are trying to keep it under $5000.. which has already been streched a couple thousand.. so we shall see. -

Nice! We live in Uptown Village Apts in NW Gainesville. We left Cali cause my Josh is attending Grad School. I am working at GRU. Have you decided on a resort yet? -
We decided on the Grand Palladium, Mayan Riviera, so let me know if you have any questions. Happy planning!
