Hi Ladies, I was one of the brides that spent 13 months planning my wedding on this site(thanks for all the tips ladies!), then Swine Flu came about 2 weeks before we were supposed to fly out. We had to cancel everything and luckily the only money we paid and couldnt get back is from Tamms photos. (if anyone plans on using her, get a quote from her and then let me know we got a really good deal from her that we could possibly transfer to someone else,@ heather riise hunder on Facebook) We ended up moving 38 guests to (paradisus Princesa Del Mar) Varadero, Cuba instead. I just wanted to let you girls know (the brides on a budget) that you may want to think of other options. Our Wedding package at Azul with private event, Dj, cake, flowers, etc. was to be $9,435. US Our wedding in Cuba included rehersal dinner for 38 in private restaurant with a trio band (they even cooked up my husbands fish he caught that day on a fishing trip) champayne toast at wedding, live band, decorations, cocktail hour, private dinner, cake, dj, decorated room, some flowers, basic photographer (bring your own!) breakfast in bed and a honeymoon dinner. The price for all this was $335. US. We saved over $9,000.00 and we were treated like GOLD. There were no additional costs for all the little things, they just wanted to make us happy on our special day. We had saved up for the wedding ourselves and having paid for our wedding and still have $9,000 in the bank is a wonderful feeling to start our lives together. I am sure Azul is so beautiful and breathtaking, but seriously the way they overcharge for every little thing is just ridiculous. Thank you ladies for all your help Unfortunately, we had to cancel everything and have moved our wedding to Cuba (even our travel agent said we will be disappointed, it not be nearly as nice as the Sensatori would have been) We lucked out with signature vacations, they had moved our travel date 4 times since last june, so we had the option to cancel with full refund anyways. Then i had sent in our final payment and the next day my Fiance lost his ID and credit card at his Stag party so luckily she couldnt put payment throuhg. So Lucky. My heart goes out to those Brides in the same situation who may have been not so lucky with refunds. Again thanks for everyhting Ladies Heather Hunder

Daaammm it! i hate this Swine Flu. we are being told that almost all flights out of Canada have been canceled!!! we are supposed to leave in 18 days! They are even talking of moving us to Cuba, Jamaica or Dominican republic. That means 12 months of planning means nothing. Even if there are flights to get there, No one wants to come. This is a disaster. Is anyone else being told they "Cant" go to Mexico. (I am screaming as i write this)

Hi Can anyone help confirm the Spa options? I have the 24 page downloaded, however do these prices seem really high? or is it just me? Also can anyone please clarify this statement under the wedding section " 30% additional charge with a mininum 2 hour package" Does that seriously mean that if I get a manicure, pedicure and my hair done (which will take at least 2 hours) I have to pay an extra 30% as well a 10% service charge!?!?!?! Is anyone else choosing any bridal package, if so do they offer any discounts for bringing in other people, like 3 bridesmaids updo and yours is free or something? If there even is a price quote for an updo!?! Thanks Ladies!

So pissed off right now! We sent out invites in June with a travel date of may 16-23, then in August the travel company informed us it was now changed to May 17-24. Now after all deposits and many paid in full, dates are changed again to May 16-23. After people have made travel plans, booked sitters, booked off work! So because of it we lost 10 people. (now only 42 attending)Our travel agent said i am lucky because the group traveling to Cuba in April was changed by 3 days, and the resort has no other openings for them to get married. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi, so I got a reply back from Tiffany and she said "Yes, you can have the Barbeque Deluxe at the Plaza (Center of the Resort) " So thank goodness! Has anyone picked out Bouquets yet? If so which ones? Thanks

Yeah Tiffany told me that i couldn't have the Barbque deluxe at the Plaza, it had to be on the beach.

Hi, My wedding is in 4 months and i heard good reviews about having the reception at "the plaza" the area in the middle of the resort. However they said they can't have the Barbeque delux there, so i have to pick menu items. Who is doing this and how are you doing this? Do you ask people what they want to have as a salad and main course now? what if i pick something and they can't have, it like an allergy or something. Or do i have the reception on the beach and pay for a dance floor cause i heard (or read) the sand was horrible. Thanks Ladies

Hi Tracey S We are using tammsphotos.com She was had a great price package and its a husband and wife team. they have a place where they stay for cheap in Mexico so you don't have to pay for their hotel room. Good Luck

OMG i feel your pain! I am having the same type of problem, so I guess i will vent as well. We told people b4 we got engaged we were going to have a destination wedding. My mother reminded me that not everyone will be able to go. So after some thought, I would be happy if my godparents came and my favorite Uncle and Aunt. So when we did get engaged, I asked them, they said they would be there for sure. Ok so a destination wedding will work. Well After invites went out, I has furious when all of my side of the family DECLINED. All of them! I actually wanted to cancel the whole wedding and just get married here. I am so embarrased that on my wedding day there will be only parents and my sister at the wedding. My Fiances side there is 10 of them going(besides his sister and parents) Now its not like my family doesn't have money or travel (they were in Mexico last Feb) for a reunion!!! My problem is now I want to be mad, but if they don't know your mad what is the point. Do I tell them or just try to get over it. Now if they travel anywhere in the next 2 years I will be pissed off. I honestly thought i meant more to them. Its weird, people whom I thought weren't coming are, and people whom I thought for sure wouldn't miss for the world won't be there.

Hi We were thinking of doing a "Trash the Dress" photo shoot the morning after we get married at sunrise(so like 6 or 7 am) Does anyone know if the $500 for the outside photographer is charged twice? If so does that mean if we want the photographer to take pictures at the bar after midnight, would that be considered the next day or is it for 24 hours? Thanks

Has anyone else booked under Signature Vacations? There website says the "Gold" package quotes "Dinner Reservations for entire party in Los Arrecifes International Restaurant" while the free wedding package quotes " up to 40 people in Spoons Restaurant. When i asked fabio, he no asnswer. Because that would be way cheaper then to host a private event Right?

Hey Katie We got a price quote out of Calgary for May 09 of $1765 taxes included for 7 days is the basic room category. We put down $12,000. in deposits (We are expecting b/w 80-100 people) we realized that May is an off month and there are only so many flights(one a week) so if one wedding party of 50 or more book we are screwed. So we had my parents, his parents and some close friends prepay to hold deposits,then when people confirm, it all balances out. We have til November 19 , then if only like 60 confirm they get a credit on their account. It is really crazy, but this way I have no stress of getting people to book really early or of not enough room on the plane. Cheers, Heather

However when i asked Fabio, he said only at Spoons and only for 40 people. I think we will have close to 80. Just curious what everyone else is doing? Hey, Was wondering if any one else was in the same situation. We decided to get married at Azul Sensatori in May of 2009, based on the wedding package of "Signature Vacations Wedding 2008/2009" Magazine. It quotes in there "Dinner reservations for the entire wedding party in Los Arrecifes International restauant" When we talked to the wedding planner at the resort they said they only offer dinner at Spoons restaurant for 40 people. We will have close to 80 people so hosting a private event is going to be alot. Curious, what is everyone else is doing? Or am I just being too cheap? Thanks Heather in Calgary. AB
