  1. Chandra... I just noticed your wedding is on my birthday!! How cool. So there is def some mix up about where music can be played... I feel like you have to make your questions REALLY specific to get a straight answer with the WC, basically phrasing it so they only have to respond with a yes or no. But anyways, when I first e-mailed Lizet I specifically asked about El Patio and if we weren't going to rent out the whole rest with the $750 fee, if we could still have music and she replied "no." She said only "private places" can have music set up, so you don't bother other guests. So, all we know so far is that the following places can have music set up: The beach The massage hut on beach The pool The lobby terrace If you are able to rent out El Patio for $750 fee then you can have music (but only if resort is a certain % full) ~Julie
  2. Hey ladies, so I finally got a reply from lizete... I wanted to know which outdoor private locations we can have our reception at without having to pay the extra $750 fee, where we can play music and dance to it? It can be by the beach having the ultimate package or dreams of love package. Can we have our cocktail at the Lobby terrace? Yes you can have there your cocktail. Is it possible to have a reception at the Lobby terrace with music? Yes it is possible. Who will perform the symbolic ceremony? Certified minister. Can we write up the whole ceremony script and give you a copy so whoever performs the ceremony will say exactly what is written? Of course we will ask this to the minister if you want to. So as you can see she didn't really list any other places for outdoor reception with music.... but like many have said before they are not that good at giving detailed answers, so maybe in a lil while I will e-mail her again and will specifically ask about having reception by the pool with music.
  3. So I'm trying to figure out if it's worth doing a TTD session. I'm on a really tight budget for the wedding and was thinking of selling my wedding dress after the wedding, but i really really want to do a TTD session. Has anyone done a TTD session and cleaned the dress afterwards? How did it look after being cleaned? Does it have to be cleaned right after the session or can it wait until I get back home? Thank you for your help ladies...
  4. Does anyone know how long of a ride playa del carmen is from tulum and how much does it cost to take taxi there approx? Or has anyone rented a shuttle or van from tulum to playa? I wanted to have my bachelorete party at playa del carmen, no way of having it at home because all my bridesmaids are scattered throughout the country and one in england!! Anyone else planning on having your bachelorete party when you get down to Tulum? What are you planning on doing?

I wrote Lizete an e-mail regarding which private outdoor reception areas are allowed to have music, I also asked if they are able to do receptions at the lobby terrace just in case anyone else was thinking the same... will post the info she sends me. Sunbride, I totally agree with you about saving all the e-mails.... just in case
  6. Sunbride, I just saw your comment regarding not being able to have music if you have your reception by the pool? Wow, I'm glad you mentioned it, because I just assumed that all the outdoor private locations (beach, adult pool, activity pool) you could have music at, I didn't even bother asking lizette about it! If you know the info could you clarify which outdoor locations you can have music at, aside from renting out el patio..... Thank you soo much!

  8. I know some ladies have had their cocktail hr in front of the lobby area, I just wanted to know where exactly they do the set up? Is it between the actual bulding and the fountain, or is it on that little terrace outside? What is the verranda bar? Is it that terrace area in frony of the lobby where the staircases run on each side? Has anyone done a reception at that lobby area? or is only available for cocktail hr?
  9. Ladies.... THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for all your responses!! I really really appreciate it, as you all know choosing the "perfect" wedding dress is a very important part of the wedding itself and with your help I think I'm getting closer to my desicion. I'll keep you girls updated, but keep the opinions and comments comin!!

Before I go back to make my final desicion, please let me know which one you think fit me best... #1 #2 #3 #4 Thanks for helping!!

  13. Hey everyone, I am having my wedding at Dreams Tulum and it's extremely expensive to get there from Cancun airport! My FI and I will probably be flying in at the same time with 6 family members that are also staying at DTR. Does anyone have any recomendations on transportation to the Tulum area that won't cost us a fortune, or just share your story on how you got there and if you would do anything different. Any insight much appreciated!
  14. Thank you So much SunBride. I think this has to be one of the most impressive/informative/organized thread on this whole forum!!!
  15. From what I understand and have read so far, drinks are included with your dinner. But if you are extending your dinner past the 3 hrs allotted for it, and want to be served drinks then you have to pay extra.
  16. Hey girls, I'm new to this forum. My FI and I just set a date, it going to be Oct 2009, and I love the dreams resorts, but I'm having such a tough time deciding which one to have the wedding at. Cancun vs tulum vs puerto aventuras. I haven't found much pics or feedback on puerto aventuras, so any help is much appreciated. Thank you soo much Morgan for the pics!!
