Hey ladies! I know I don't post here all that often, but we leave in 12 days so its down to the wire. Just wanted to see if anyone had some things to think about or make sure we do prior to leaving. I want to be on my game and make sure I have all the information squared away ahead of time so we don't run into any stressful hiccups. Wishful thinking I know.

I need some help/details here... We have never stayed at an All Inclusive resort before and aren't quite sure how the bracelet thing works. I know they put them on you and you can't take them off...but what if you do or what if you lose one? And how do they know that you are staying at the resort not just on a day pass? Are they different colors? How do they stop people from just coming and going from the resort? Is there just like one little door to get in and out of the resort so you can't just walk in like most resorts? Sorry for all the questions...I am just trying to get an idea of what its like so I can be prepared when we arrive. Thank you!

I can't wait to get assigned my coordinator! We are about 2 months out...and although Maribel has been such a great help, as well as my many other contacts at the resort, I would LOVE to know who my actual WC is going to be. Another question...does anyone have a map of the grounds of MP that includes the Grand Moon side?

So since we are changing our plans, we wanted to have everyone meet at a bar for cocktails after our mini-rehearsal instead of a rehearsal dinner. We are thinking the rooftop bar on the Grand Moon side...has anyone been there and know if this would be a good spot? I like the looks of it from the pictures, such as this one, but not sure if this would be the best place. Any advice would be appreciated because we want to have a plan ahead of time. Thanks!

Okay...I think we are going to switch and just do the reception at a restaurant. We actually didn't qualify for the free cocktail hour since we booked our 12 rooms through the RCI timeshares. Oh well...its saving us lots of money anyways. Now my question is...what restaurant would you suggest for the dinner/reception? Is there one with a private terrace/area that we could feel more secluded from other guests?

Hey girls...I haven't been on here in a while but with about 10 weeks to go, its time to get some final decisions taken care of. I do have a big question though...we have been working with a temporary WC at MP, Maribel, until we are assigned our actual WC. We have reserved a time/location for a private reception but we are thinking of forgoing that and just using our reservations for our dinner reception at a restaurant. Do you know if they will allow us to cancel it without any questions, since we never signed anything saying we MUST do the private event? Any advice would be appreciated. Those that have been married there...did you do a private reception or just use your reservations for your reception? With the money stuff...we are having a hard time with not spending more than we must. Thanks!

From what she has told me though is that she isn't the actual WC, but an assistant to them to help with any details until your WC is assigned. Were you told differently from her? She is an absolute doll and such a great help. She is very quick to reply and has all the answer! Make sure to ask specific questions with detail in order to get the answers you are looking for.

So I have bought the fabric and know the length for our custom aisle runner, but I am up in the air as to what the best way to apply our monogram would be. Do you think a heat transfer image, take it somewhere to be silk screened, or trace and paint the image onto the fabric? Have any of you done one of these before? What worked? What didn't? Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

Hey Camie....Where in Dallas are you at? I live up in Carrollton! I am looking for more details on the Grand side. I know there hasn't been much official information released, but is there anywhere over there that would be a good location for the rehearsal dinner? I have photos of the rooftop deck/bar above the carribean restaurant, but I have been told that can't be used for a big group...anyone else know anything? I am 6 months out and am definitely hitting the wedding planning mode!

I am about ready to start designing and creating my boarding pass invitations...but i have to ask...what is the best tips you can offer to make them turn out the best, with the least amount of stress? What type of paper do you reccommend? What tools work best? Any templates/fonts that are a must before I start? I have seen so many of you have created such great boarding passes, I can only assume you could offer a little advice before get going on these! Thank you so much!

I didnt know it would be so much more money. I wonder what like a $400 set up would look like, if it would look cheesy at all? I received some information from MP about the pricing for the ceremony set up and such. I have a few documents I can share with you. If you want to send me a PM with your e-mail address I will send them over to you as well.

I'm going to try to book the Ballroom Carey as I plan to hire a DJ (sound, lights and all) and I don't want to be restricted with the 10:00 curfew imposed on the outdoor terraces. Have your RCI guests book their flights as yet? My family is hoping that a seat sale comes up between now and May. Right now its about $950 for a flight from Calgary to Cancun. Our wedding is at 5 p.m. on Monday the 11th. You are more than welcome to swing by and check out the wedding. We are having the ceremony in the Tucan Gazebo...at least as of right now. Our reception is in the gardens next to the gazebo. You are even more welcome to come by the reception and have a drink and dance a little! The only RCI owners are my Future In Laws...and they used all their weeks they had saved up, 11, for all of our guests. They have already booked their tickets though, out of Portland Oregon. You are Canadian? one of our bridesmaids and one groomsman are both Canadian!

WANTED: J Crew Silk Taffeta Ballerina Dress
Jennifer43 replied to Jennifer43's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Thank you so much for all of your advice! I really appreciate it. I have spoken with someone in the wedding department at J Crew and he is going to look in the factory for me and let me know by Tuesday if they find anything. If they don't, I will definitely be talking with management to see what can be done. Its just so frustrating because i was so excited! -
WANTED: J Crew Silk Taffeta Ballerina Dress
Jennifer43 posted a topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
I am looking to buy 1 or 2 of the J Crew Silk Taffeta Ballerina dresses for my bridesmaids. I need the "Papaya" color in a size 4 or 6 preferably. J Crew made a mistake and didn't actually have them available when I purchased them so now I have 2 and am going to have 2 naked bridesmaids if I don't find 2 more! Please help if you can! Thanks so much. -

I just wanted to say hi and let you know I will be getting married at MP on May 11th. What day are you arriving? If you are there by then you are more than welcome to attend our wedding to get an idea of what you should expect. Also, I heard your guests were booking through RCI...we have booked 11 rooms through RCI so if you have any problems with it, let me know. I have some good contacts at the resort that work with RCI bookings.

The cost for the beach set up varies depending on what you want. For just the arch it is about $350 in 2009 and if you want all the flowers too it goes up to about $850. I think this has caused people to not do the beach set up since its a little pricy. I have some photos and info that the WC sent me if you would like to see them. Send me a PM and I will forward it to you.

Hey girls! I hope everyones planning is going great! I have a random question for yall. We are getting married in the Tucan Gazebo and in all the photos I have seen the aisle looks really long. Does anyone happen to know how long and how wide it really is? We are having a custom aisle runner made and I have no clue how long to make it! Thanks! Even a rough guesstimate would help!
