  1. Congratulations Martha & Jay!! He is so precious!
  2. Hi Everyone! User Name: Anna83 Name: Anna & Derek Location: RIU Ocho Rios Wedding: January 10, 2009 In JA: 1/6/09 - 1/13/09
  3. I am hoping not to receive any gifts or cards down there either. I am not planning on having a gift table. I have told a few people that and I figure they will spread the word. Depending on how many guests you are having, maybe just mention it to a couple of them, such as your parents and FI's. They might be good at letting people know not to bring gifts.
  4. I had my TA take care of everything. The resort did contact me via email after she booked our wedding, and then I just fowarded the emails to her. Having my TA book was one less thing for me to worry about!

But part of me wants to get him something that will last and be more meaningful. I don't know what to do, but I'm running out of time...
  6. That sounds like fun! It makes me miss working at a big company. I agree with the price of candy. I bought candy last weekend for trick or treating, and it was ridiculous. I think the price has gone up a lot this year, along with the price of everything else. I hope everything is okay with your dog! Did you find out what was wrong?
  7. Our wedding is in Jamaica, so I can't really help you with specific activites, but we are only planning one group activity. We will hopefully do a group trip to Dunn's River Falls. Of course, we will also have our wedding reception and a welcome dinner. Last year we went on a cruise with about 10 people of all different ages. Nobody in the group ever chose the same excursions. It is very hard to find activities that everyone is interested in, especially when there are so many choices. I would suggest you and your FI choose what you want to do, then maybe just let everyone know what you are doing and that they are welcome to join you. That way people don't feel like they have to join you if they don't want to. You could drive yourself crazy trying to please everyone, so just make sure you do what you want!
  8. I've heard about using the stadium cups or tumblers as well. I am considering using those. I definately want to give some kind of cup because most resorts do give you tiny cups, but the mugs seem almost like overkill. I personally don't really like drinking out of mugs with lids because the hole is so tiny, but maybe other people don't mind. I think I would rather just have a big cup.
  9. Welcome & congrats! You'll be glad you found the forum early in your planning, and it's never too early to start planning. Good Luck!
  10. Welcome to the forum! You'll be glad you found the forum early in your planning.
  11. I'm thinking about buying travel mugs to put in our oot bags, but I'm thinking maybe they are not worth buying. I don't want to pack up all of the those mugs if they won't be used. If you included travel mugs in your oot bags, did your guests use them? Would a tumbler have been a better, more used option?
  12. The forum is very addicting. I feel like I will have post-pardom depression after my wedding is over. Welcome!

To be honest, I really don't know what my options are. I don't ever wear polish on my hands, and I don't think I want fake nails, so I'm not sure what to do. I think I just want a polish that does not stand out too much. Thanks everyone for your help. I have decided to make my appointment for the day before.
  16. This is a fun website! I think I need better pictures...I always thought my baby would be much cuter!
  17. I have never had a manicure or a pedicure, but I'm am planning on buying the wedding package for the spa at our resort. My question is, do you get them on your wedding day or a couple days before? How long does it take to get done?
  18. I don't think it is tacky, especially if you are having a reception. Some people will want to buy you a gift and will be looking for your registry.
  19. In my opinion, I don't think there is a good way to do that. I would be a little put out if I received an invitation for a reception and I had to pay for my meal. Have you considered choosing a location for your wedding that includes a reception dinner at no cost? We are having our wedding or ROR, and they include the reception dinner. Also, keep in mind that most of your guests will give you a gift that will help cover your costs.
  20. Thanks! I love hearing goods things about ROR, It helps me to stop worrying about everything!
  21. I am walking down the aisle to Canon in D remix by Ronald Jenkees. It is more upbeat than the Pachabal version. I got it from Napster.
  22. I sent STD's as soon as we booked our resort, which was about 9 months. I wanted to give people as much time as possible to plan and save. I wanted to send about a year in advance, but we couldn't book with our resort yet. I don't think a year is too soon at all for a DW.
  23. Our wedding is on a Saturday. I want to plan a group trip to Dunn's River Falls for either Thursday or Friday. Is there any reason we shouldn't leave the resort the day before our wedding? What did other brides do on their day before?
  24. I agee with the girls that said go simple. I have a Brother sewing machine that was a gift, but I think it only cost about $100-200. You can do wonders with just a few simple stitches. If you get one that is too complicated, you won't want to use it because it could be frustrating to use.
