The only other show that compares is when I saw The Police. I tried not to use the really heavy or really indie/weird stuff I listen to, but I didn't want normal wedding-y music. It was really hard to narrow it down to the 10 I eventually picked, but fun at the same time!!
  2. Ahh! Great find! I wanted to do this for my Dad and Grampa, but had a hard time finding what I wanted. This is what I wanted! Too late now, but a good link for future brides!
  3. Welcome and congrats! There's tons of info on various resorts in the Jamaica forum. Happy planning!

  6. OOoooo! Cant wait for the season premiere!!
  7. Encino Man : Sean Astin I LOVE that movie.
  8. We have separate everything. Chequing, savings, credit cards, RRSP's and pension plan stuff are all separate. We split the household bills straight down the middle b/c we both make roughly the same $$ per year. We do have a joint money market fund for emergencies or big household repair/improvements.

My thoughts exactly. Our wedding = our choice. We picked a resort that cost ~ $2000/night. I didn't feel guilty at all. We never held a gun to anyone's head to fork out the cash to come. If you could afford it, great and if not... oh well. We still got married and had a great time with 9 guests. I figure if it's going to break your heart (not your's in particular) not to have the majority of your friends and family around than a DW isn't for you. Everyone thinks its a super great idea and people are quick to hop on the band wagon to go away for a wedding, but when the time comes to actually pay for it... people start dropping off like flies. Bottom line. Do what feels right for you and yours.
  10. Congrats to your Mom! There's tons of wedding info here!
  11. Gorgeous pictures! Love your ceremony set-up -- very pretty!
  12. Congrats Maureen, that's awesome! I've only ever heard good things about Aruba!
  13. We did non-traditional stuff too. This is the CD I handed our wedding co-ordinator. We walked down the aisle to Island in the Sun - Weezer. The rest of the songs played out after the ceremony while we signed our docs and had our champagne toast and did pictures. 1. Island in the Sun - Weezer 2. The Gift - Angels & Airwaves 3. Heaven - Angels & Airwaves 4. Don't Wait - Dashboard Confessional 5. Better Together - Jack Johnson 6. In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel 7. Love You Madly - Cake 8. Vindicated - Dashboard Confessional 9. You Only Live Once - The Strokes 10. I'll Catch You - The Get Up Kids The first 3 songs are in our wedding video as well.

    Hello

    Welcome and Happy planning!
  16. Welcome and Congrats, from a former Jamaica bride! We got married this past April in Negril. Tons of info in the Jamaica forum, so start your search there. I dont think Ive read a bad review about Evita's in Ochi -- maybe check her place out. I hear the food and service are both amazing! Good luck and happy planning!
  17. Yay! Those are great! Your website is pretty cool, too!
  18. Have you tried phoning ROR directly? You might have better luck that way, instead of emails... just a thought.
  19. Alicia Silverstone : Clueless!!
  20. Yeah the last time I checked I never held a gun to anyone's head and forced them to come to my DW. You dont like it and dont want to pay for it, fine. No skin off my back!
