Alright girls, it's my turn (finally!!). I managed to find THE dress yesterday. I can't tell you all how happy I am. I thought I'd never find what I was looking for ... until I ventured out onto our city's best-known street for wedding dresses/party dresses etc. And there happened to be a ginormous sidewalk sale! As I was walking into one of the bridal stores, I spotted this dress on a manequin on an outside table and said to my Mum, "You NEED to get them to take that off the manequin and let me try it on!). So, they did ... and it was a PERFECT fit (well, it needs some adjusting in the boob area and the length, of course) but the general fit is just perfection. It was the last one of that model and the price was phenomenal. So, I took it yesterday and it's currently in my closet at home!!!!!!! As soon as I got home I had to put it back on and my Mum took some pictures (away from my fiance's prying eyes) ... please forgive the photog skills, my mother is not the best. LOL This is the lace detail: I know this one is blurry, but at least you can see the shape of the dress and the fit on the body: This is the top ... please forgive my ratty red nails and you can ALMOST see my trinity engagement ring ... hehehe And here's the whole thing! I'm going to have the lining removed from underneath the train, so it's just the lace behind me ... Another odd picture from my mother that made my ass look huge. LOL She was lying on the floor for some odd reason ... :-p And here it is straight on - you can tell in this one I need the boob area adjusted, and the length obviously!!! I'm quite short!! The dress is by Mori Lee ... and I tried to find a picture of it on a model online, but I don't know the model number ... and it's on on their website. Anyways, thanks girls for posting all your lovely dresses, it really helped me decide on the style I wanted!!!

The font is Tropicana BV and I downloaded it from a random font site ... can't remember, sorry!!

Hi there - yes, there is some paperwork and a certain process you need to go through if you've already been married. I think the cost comes with the document translation. Your travel agent will be the best person to explain all of this to you ... sorry I can't help more! Good luck!

Alright, so the big day is approaching.... I made my very first wedding dress shopping appointment with a small-town bridal salon. While I live in the big city, I wanted to try out a smaller place first ... just to not be in rush and perhaps even get a deal on the price!!! So, besides being ECSTATIC about my appointment, I was wondering if you wedding dress shopping vets have any tips for a newbie like me?! I just started looking at wedding dresses after I was engaged (I never looked before, I know, what kind of girl am I?) ... so this is all very, very new to me ... I'm not even sure about the style I want ... I know what I DON'T want though. :-p Thanks in advance girls.

Thanks for all the tips and advice girls ... I love that everyone has such great comments!!! The reason we put down a deposit was to hold the prices (very good and same price for double AND single occupancy!) for that week, and obviously that will go toward the payment of mine and my fiance's ticket... I've decided to add to our STD/Invites a small card that urges everyone to RSVP with us by the beginning of September so we can make any necessary adjustments. It might SEEM early, but for the TA it's not! I'll word it in such a way so they realize that prices could change should they wait and there may not be availability for rooms near the group, or worse yet, no rooms at all! Again, thank you all ... the support on this forum is just awesome.

Alright, so here's the deal ... no matter how hard we try and come up with a solid guest list and solid numbers there always seem to be huge UNKNOWNS. And I love to say, well whoever comes, comes and leave it at that, however, it's not as simple as that. Our travel agent has asked that we put down a deposit for the number of guests we assume (want) to come with us ... we already did this a week ago and now suddenly is seems our numbers may change. I'm sending out our invite/STD boarding passes probably on Friday, or early next week at the latest. So, everyone who is invited will be informed ... however, we invited more than we put a deposit down for because those unknowns came in to play AFTER the deposit was made. I don't want anyone to be "left out" and I don't want to leave things to chance. Should I just ring people up in the next few weeks (after I think they've received the STD/invite) and just ask them straight out if they're coming? 9 months seems like a long way away, but our agent needs to know, like now, to block out the seats and make sure there's room at the resort for that week. Would it be too forward of me to say they need to make a decision NOW? And make sure I stipulate that they can't just change their minds come next March/April that they want (or don't want) to come? Ugh, this guest thing has just been the hardest part of everything!!!

So, we booked (well, put a deposit for our guests reservations) for Cuba next year!!!!!!! The decision has been made!!! We'll be getting married on the beach at Melia Cayo Guillermo on the gorgeous beaches of Cuba. The travel agent gave us our wedding date!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May 14, 2009. WOOHOO!!!
