I'm so excited! I found my AHR dress ... I have yet to order it, but I'm absolutely in love with it ... and my father is the bestest man in the world because he's buying it for me ... The moment he saw it, he said I had to have it despite the price (more expensive than my actual wedding dress!). And it wouldn't be a proper post without some pics ... so enjoy ladies: It's a BCBG MAXAZRIA and I am SO excited to order if for our August AHR.

I want to order one for my flower girl but I'm always wary about ordering off the net from a company I don't know ... and I hate not being able to see the product before I buy it!! I know ... Hi all - so we are starting to think about our AHR invitations (I know, we haven't even been married yet). We're going to have a cocktail celebration in August, 4 hours of hors d'ouevres, alcohol, pictures on display and a cake ... basically a time for us to see everyone who couldn't be at our wedding. This is not a second reception or a second wedding. However, as it is a wedding celebration people will bring gifts .... right? Are we wrong to think that? FI and I have been living together in our new house for over 2 years and we really have everything we need and are not planning on registering at stores for anything. However, we would like our guests to help us fund either our landscaping or our basement renos. How can we word it in the invite to suggest that we'd prefer a cash gift without sounding brash or harsh or like we're begging for money?! Thanks ladies.

Just wondering if any other brides will be getting hitched at the same resort as the FI and I? I know Melia Las Dunas is pretty popular, and I stayed at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria that's right next to Las Dunas and it was GORGEOUS. But, Cayo Guillermo is much closer to the airport than Las Dunas which is why we chose it ... I'm meeting with my TA this weekend to discuss wedding details (extras/flowers/etc.) so anyone who's had experience with this resort and can offer advice or warnings would be much appreciated!! Thanks so much girls. Only 104 days till my wedding and I am SOOOO excited!!

Alright ladies ... who can click that PM button faster? I was passed a starfish from MissyR, and she had it from a BDW girl before her and so on ... my wedding will be the little guy's 4th destination wedding! He's headed to Cuba with me in May, but I'm keeping the tradition alive and will be passing him along as soon as I get home. I'd be able to send out the starfish after May 22, 2009, and I'm in Montreal, Canada. It's a gorgeous, full-of-crystals, perfect little bouquet starfish. Let me know!

My wedding time is set for 4:00 p.m. because it's right on the beach and the morning/midday sun would be ridiculous. Plus, it means no one has to wake up THAT early and we're set for dinner right after the ceremony and pics.

Yes please all Transat-traveling Canadian girls please post experiences with dresses on-board!!! I'm worried about this too and will be flying Transat to Cuba ...

Thanks for the advice ladies ... but what happens if I (miraculously) lose the weight I want in the next 4 months? Can the dress be taken in, let's say ... 2 weeks before the wedding??

I bought my dress last August .... and because it was the last one in the store, I brought it home!!! So, it's been sitting in my closet all these months and yes, I'll peak at it every now and then, but I haven't tried it on. I'm afraid to try it on and my wedding is coming up in a little over 4 months ... should I be bringing it to a seamstress soon? Or at least trying it on? I know I need to get the length adjusted and I want to remove the liner from the train so it's just lace and the boob area needs to be taken in. Otherwise it fits perfectly (or at least, IT DID). I'll admit, I'm petrified to try it on and find it doesn't fit AT ALL.
