  1. Same here: I have an ivory lace dress and the groom will be wearing tan/cream-colored pants with a white shirt and the BM will be wearing tan/cream pants with a turquoise shirt and my MOH is wearing a sand-colored dress with a turquoise sash ... So I think it'll be fine to have an ivory dress and tan groomsmen attire ...
  2. Maybe I'm just a n00b when it comes to searching on the internet, but I've had a really, really hard time finding pics of wedding inspiration hairstyles for women with short hair! My hair is quite short ... and "fine" (as my hairdresser says LOL) ... do you girls know of any decent resources? The pics that I have come across are so '80s and brutal it makes me want to cry and think I'll just end up leaving my hair exactly like it is in this picture of me:
  3. Wow - you look gorgeous. I absolutely LOVE the bustle at the back when it's up!
  4. I love those invites!! How did you do the ribboned corners on the top part of the invite? I may just have to steal this idea for my DIY AHR invites ...
  5. If you really want to be a DIY bride and save a little cash ... think about buying a cheapy hoodie (you're never really going to wear it again, right?) and ordering a BRIDE decal from an Etsy seller like this one: Etsy :: DIY BEAUTIFUL IRON-ON TRANSFER CHOICE OF DESIGN BRIDE MATRON OF HONOR MAID OF HONOR BRIDESMAID JUNIOR BRIDESMAID Then sell or give it to another DW bride when you get back (which is what I plan to do ... )
  6. Wow - you thought of EVERYTHING Kerry ... that's crazy!! It all looks so good though ... your wedding is going to be gorgeous and your guests are going to be so impressed with all your hard work!!

We're leaving them on the chairs at the outside ceremony with our programs! We're doing OOT bags and I have gifts for my MOH and flower girl as well as my Mum ... Leaving the OOT bags on the chairs is a very good idea ... I'm a bit stressed about how I'm going to "surprise" everyone with their OOT bags and how I'm going to put them together and sneak them into their rooms without them knowing!! I may just have to put the FI up to a distraction on the first morning so I have time to run around with the maid and break into everyone's rooms. Hehehe
  8. Awesome idea for the sand frame ... I like having that option too. And the FI suggested checking out Wal-Mart or even Pier1 so we might do that as well and think outside the box ... ;-) Thanks ladies!!
  9. Wow you ladies ARE fast! There's plenty of stuff there I would have snatched up but apparently I'm not fast enough!! Congrats on the baby by the way. :)
  10. Sorry if this has been covered already - I searched for "sand ceremony" and couldn't find any postings that covered by question! So, here goes: Where did you girls get your sand ceremony sets? We only need one with two pouring vases and a large middle one... Thanks ladies!
  11. Wow - that dress is so beautiful. And that flower is the perfect edition!!
  12. Did my weights last night for my legs: Squats 40lbs, lunges 15lbs, good mornings 10lbs, calf raises 20lbs. And Saturday I had a 1hr spinning class. Tonight is an hour of yoga! Went to the nutritionist on Saturday and I'm down 4lbs ... so 10 more to go before we fly out in May!

  14. Wow Veronica - it's so close now!!!! Everything looks amazing ... and I may have to steal a few ideas from you!!! ;-) Congratulations and can't wait to see the pics of your big day when you get back!!!
  15. Alright girls, it's been awhile since I've posted here ... and it's not because I've been an inactive slobbish bride, but because I've been trying to work out the perfect plan that will actually work ... and I think I've finally done it! This is what my weeks have looked like for the past month: Sunday (Back/Bis): Deadlift 4x6 Bent rows 4x6 Shoulder Press 3x8 Skipping 15 mins Monday: Yoga 1.5hrs Tuesday (Legs): Squats 4x6 Lunges 3x10 Good mornings 3x10 Calf raises 3x15 Skipping 15 mins Wednesday: Power Yoga 1hr Thursday (Chest/triceps): Bench press 4x6 Incline bench press 3x8 DB flyes 3x8 skullcrushers 3x8 Skipping 15 mins Friday: Off Saturday: Spinning 1hr Besides the exercising, I've also been keeping a daily caloric intake of under 1,600 and I stopped eating meat about a month ago as well which has made a HUGE difference. (I never really liked it to begin with so it wasn't hard to give up! Though I still eat eggs and fish for protein and nutrients and I take a B12 supplement daily to compensate for no red meat). After 1 week of the calorie-watching, weight-lifting and yoga I lost 3lbs. I haven't weighed myself since ... and that was about 3 weeks ago. I'll be seeing my nutritionist this weekend (she's the one who suggested the calorie watch) and I'll let you girls know how it goes weight-wise as she has to weigh me to watch my progress! You girls are awesome though - keep up the hard work!!! It's worth it!!!!!!
  16. Wow - thanks ladies ... JamieLynn - I actually take Ativan when I go to the dentist for long procedures that require needles. I tend to hyperventilate and freak out (yes, I am one of THOSE girls). So, I don't have a problem at all with taking a little pill to chill me out! I may consider the Ativan route on the big day. It calms me down without drugging me out. The perfect combo. As for skin care: Chloe55 I'll give Amlactin a go for my shoulders/chest as I want to make sure that area is uber clear and pristine!
  17. So, besides having transparent skin that'll have me wearing full body armor to protect in the days leading up to the wedding, I also have very sensitive and "reactive" skin. I tend to get blotchy red marks, or even hives that end up being little dry patches (lovely, I know) on my face, neck, chest, shoulders when I get: nervous, anxious, scared, excited, sad, overwhelmed, worked up, etc. all of which I will most likely be feeling on my wedding day. So, my question to you other sensitive skinned ladies is this: Do you have any secret formula that doesn't include deep breathing, yoga and super-hydrating moisturizers (that don't work, at least not for a few days) as I've tried all that already without success? Any and ALL advice would be much appreciated. Thanks ladies!
  18. Wow - you two look SO happy ... what an incredible photographer to capture everything so perfectly. And you looked absolutely stunning Robin - even by the end of the night, which is saying something!! Hehehehe Congrats!!!

I'm not the only one doing that!! I thought (and my fiance thinks) I was just being mental for wanting so many different changes ... hehehe I have a bit of a back-log of bikinis all from Bikini Village from the past few years ... the newest ones I've acquired as of late are from Le Garage. Oh and my rockin' MOH actually made me two personalized bikinis - one with the top personalized with "Mrs. Styker" on each boob as seen here: And she also made a "Just Married" bikini bottom in white with cursive, crystal letters. She ordered the decals from Ebay and ironed them on herself and they look FAB and it was MUCH less expensive than any of the pre-done ones you can order online. And as I'll really only be wearing that for the week or so after we get hitched, it was well worth it to save the money!
  21. If you found it on The Knot, you could always try contacting their editors. They may be able to tell you where it's from as they should have records from the photo shoot. And wow, she really does look like Salma Hayek/Penelope Cruz ... weird.
  22. Looks like Salma Hayek ... and I think if you go into the wedding dress thread there is one there that's VERY similar ... one of the two-dress brides posted it about a week or so ago.
