I'm going to have to try that one
  2. Beer Cheese Dip Recipe from BDW with my suggestions 2 pkg 8oz cream cheese (softened) 2 handfulls shredded cheddar cheese (regular grate) 1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix 1/2 cup crispy bacon pieces plus a little extra for garnish chopped chives or green onions for garnish 1/3 cup beer Mix cream cheese, ranch mix, and beer together with mixer. Add handfuls of cheese and 1/2 C crispy bacon and mix by hand. Spoon into serving dish and garnish with some cheese, bacon pieces and green onions/chives. I served with pretzles, chips and carrots. I recommend taking it out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving because it will be very firm. I zapped it in the microwave for 20 seconds and that worked well too. It's soooo good!!!
  3. My TA is not charing us a commission. Her fees come directly from the places we are booking with. She is also helping us do a bit of wedding coordinating. I would continue to look for another TA.
  4. My grandparents are no longer with us. My grandma passed away a year ago this August. She was so full of life, loved to dance, and had the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known. The other day I thought of her for the silliest reason. I was pulling a plastic container out of the cupboard to use and noticed her initials written on it "ST". She was so funny about making sure no one took off with her stuff . So she wrote her initials on a lot of things! It made me smile seeing her initials and handwriting and also thinking that she's probably pretty happy i'm using her container. It might sound ridiculous, but something like that would make her smile. She hated anything being wasted . When she was with us one of my favorite things to do for her was to write her a letter, a poem, or call her to talk about All My Children!
  5. I made two recipes from BDW recommendations and they were fabulous! The first was a beer cheese dip and the second was meatballs in a crockpot with grape jelly and chili sauce. Sooooo yummy!

We are on Freedom of the Seas and that stop is the day after our wedding. Any recommendations?

  11. Sorry...the first thread didn't work. This is my second go at it . I had a super fun little package waiting for me in the mailbox when I got home today! It was a beautiful pair of earrings and bracelet by BDW’s very own Courtney of Agape Gems! I highly recommend talking to her if you are looking for wedding accessories. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted and she was able to come up with just the right pieces to pull my wedding look together! I LOVE THEM!!! Plus she's so sweet and threw in an extra “something blue” and it’s amazing! Thank you Courtney! This is an up close view of my dress (you might not be able to see them well but there are tiny pearls sewn in the center of each embroidered flower): The earrings: The bracelet:
  12. I can't imagine how scary that must be and the unknown of what will come. Sounds like they are all well prepared though and that's all you can do!
  13. I also bought mine from Etsy seller Mikiye. She was a great seller! It came within days of purchase and was in an adorable box wrapped with beautiful ribbon and card.
  14. Italian place on 56th: I LOVE NYC!
  15. If your FI went off on his dad it wouldn't do any good. Doesn't sound like his dad is capable of understand another point of view. He sounds like he has tunnel vision if he assumes Stu would want to go just because he enjoys it. It also sounds like he's very disrespectful towards women in general. Probably why he didn't talk to you when you had dinner together. What a creep!!!
  16. I'm sending you lots of positive energy! Take care!
  17. Thanks for all of the feedback! I love BDW for many reasons but this is a great example of why. I already feel less nervous just hearing your thoughts on it all. Thank you!
  18. Our couples wedding shower is fast approaching in about a week and a half. For some reason I have a lot of anxiety over this! I didn’t really want a shower in the first place but my family insisted. My FI is not excited to say the least. We are both not the center of attention types . Last weekend I had to finally tell my FI that we are going to be opening gifts in front of everyone. He’s mortified. Has anyone else been nervous for their shower? Do you think it’s rude to not open gifts at the shower? It’s going to be a very informal thing, in a park, kids, family, lawn games, etc. It seems like most people open their gifts at the shower and some take them home. I wish I could buck up and deal with this!!! I've heard so many of you super excited about your showers. I want to feel the same way! But every time I think about next Saturday my stomach turns!
  19. I'm so sorry to hear about your baby! Sounds like she had a great life at 21 years old!
  20. Our guests are getting a shipboard credit as a part of their package too. We thought about adding our own money to increase it. Inside rooms are getting $25 and Oceanview and Balcony are getting $50. So if we do the personalized luggage tags and a welcome book is including additional room credit enough? If we decide against the room credit I'm lost as to what to include.
  21. That's so exciting!!! I remember being excited when I was within a year of my wedding. I can't imagine how amazing a month must feel!
