  5. I'm so proud of the elementary school I work at. They had a huge celebration this morning and brought in veterans from the Lions Club and people currently serving. We have military vehicles parked outside so the kids can see them up close. We had several presentations, the kids sang the National Anthem together, and a poster/essay contest about the meaning of liberty, freedom, and service. Members of the military are visiting classrooms all day and having lunch with the kids. So cool to get the kids involved! My grandfather was a WWII veteran and received two purple hearts. I'm for sure thinking about his bravery and service to our country today!
  6. That sounds like a super fun night! I can't only imagine how Artie's heart is handling all of the work, traveling and sweat. I hope he loses a few pounds soon because that baby gorilla needs to get healthy! I did hear the Jason's wedding talk, but just the middle and end. Sounds like Howard had a blast and had Sal doing all sorts of wacky things. My favorite was him getting Ronnie (aka Jason's great grandfather) to give a speech! Ha!

I'm going to make up a certificate explaining the additional credit and put them in the bottles. I also loved your idea about the coconut oil! So fun! We finished the first batch of our DIY luggage tags this weekend. I'm so excited to see things starting to come together!
  8. Heather - Did you make it to Artie's show this weekend? If so, I would love to hear about it!!!
  9. It's pretty harsh if that's what you are going for. I understand you have to speak your mind, after all he's leaving you high and dry with not much notice! I think we've all been there with guests backing out and spending their money on other things. My FI's sister and niece backed out for financial reasons which we totally understand but have since made rather large purchases on horse riding equipment and now are the proud owners of two horses (she's leasing them). And she took a trip to England this summer which couldn't have been cheap. It sucks but it's her money and if she would rather spend it that way that's her deal. At the end of your message you say you are done with drama. I think by sending such a harsh response it's not going to end it. He's going to react and you'll eventually hash it out. I may tone it down a bit and not mention his house renovations. He made it sound like it cost more than he expected and budgeted for and that's the reason he can't make it. I do think it's important to address your feelings about the short notice and him being your photographer. And he wouldn't answer your calls, that's lame!
  10. Congratulations! I can't wait to see how it all came together!
  11. I think they could have given her a better send off than that. I'm glad she's gone b/c the relationship with Callie wasn't working.
