Thanks for all of the updated info! I'm still waiting to hear back from Nancy about the photographer and a number of other things. #1 on my agenda is to find out why the outrageous fee for Sky Deck. Every time she writes me back (which hasn't been often) she copies the website description. So I guess that means its basically a room fee?! For a 20 min ceremony, I can't see spending $1500... If it includes a cocktail party or something, then I'm on board. So other than that location, she hasn't been able to explain anything else to me. I understand they may not know, but how are you supposed to work within a budget when you have no idea what you need to rent/buy/ reserve?? GRRR, frustrating...

So Nancy just wrote me back - but she didn't really answer any of my questions. Wondering if any of you ladies know the deal with the Sky Deck package. From Nancy's email, she said its just a ceremony location - not reception location, so why the huge fee?? Not sure if its worth paying $1500 to have a 20 min ceremony on the roof! Nancy didn't specify - and its not on their site what are the other ceremony and reception venue options. Has anyone gotten that info?

We're going to do a private reception too - but you're right, they are so much more $$. We're hoping that we can use the 'dinner for 40' that comes in the Silver Package towards the private event. Don't know if they'll accomodate... We also want to book the Sky Deck package as an add on, but don't understand why that is $1500 more. To me it just seems like you're paying for the space, b/c you don't get anything else (really) included. So you're putting up about $4K before you even get food! I'm a planner too - so its hard not to have all the answers immediately. But thankfully theres a few us of now going thru it together!

Hi - We didn't go for the group rate either. We heard from our TA and some friends that sometimes it can be more of a pain to do that. You have to pre-pay for the rooms for a specific room category and know exactly for how many nights they'll stay. If you call the hotel directly, they can provide you with the group rate discount. You do have to block a minimum of 15 rooms. Our TA has been able to get us rates that are lower than the 15% discount on line. Hope that helps some, good luck with planning! Does anyone have feedback on Nancy from Lomas? How is she to work with? I've sent her a list of questions (there were alot!) and just wanted to know how quickly I can expect to hear back from her...

It took Fabio a few days to get back to me. I did send a few follow up emails so he didn't forget about me. What held mine up was getting confirmation from the judge, so maybe that's what is going on... Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I got my confirmation yesterday!! Yay! Now, I'm officially in this thread. Just a question - when do you actually speak to the WC to discuss location, menu option (private event) and any other private events (welcome cocktails)? Did you guys schedule a call or did you do everything over email?

Love all the feedback re: Sensatori. My TA reco Karisma hotels to us, and we were nervous about looking into booking at a place that isn't even built. Also great to know there are only 2 weddings at a time there. Some solace that you won't be running into brides all day...

Would love to swap ideas with you! I'm thinking about Paradisus or Riu Palace. Haven't called yet to speak to anyone, but from their websites those look great. What about you?
