  1. Found disposable cameras at a good price... Easy Shot 27 Exposure Disposable Camera on Sale
  2. If you're going to have guests RSVP by 2/1 - when are you going to send out your invites? I was thinking to send by 2/1, but agree that I'd like to have some confirmed numbers sooner than later...
  3. Not sure how Karisma works between Nancy & Fabio. I know some girls on the thread deal with Fabio, but I'm dealing directly with Nancy. She's not much help with anything, I've started cc: Fabio on my emails to her. I guess its still TBD what role they will play once we start actually booking 'wedding amenities'...
  4. Wow! You've done so much... Here is mine Done: -STDs sent -Registery done -Honeymoon destination picked out -Flights found (need to wait till tomorrow when I log in all my miles) -Found photog - but waiting for hotel to approve before I can book To Do: -Dress -Music -Reception location/logistics -Welcome dinner plan -Flowers / decorations I found a great list on this site of what needs to be done and timing against it. I tweaked it a bit (I'm not having a bridal party, etc.) and I'm trying to stick to that. If you want I can send it, its been really helpful!
  5. Good to know, I guess I'll just stop researching those... Manders had a playlist that her TA got. I have it saved at home, I'll see if I can post tonight.
  6. Thanks for the post, and congrats on your wedding! Agree with the sentiments about Nancy, although I have to say she actually answered 2 emails of mine within 24 hours!! Knock on wood I get real "answers" soon - but maybe she's getting better... Can't wait to book my site visit so I'll feel better. Looking forward to seeing your pics!
  7. I used wedding paper divas for my STDs and loved them. Their service was great and the price right. Not sure about the response cards, if you already have a number of people booked by the time you're ready to send - probably not necessary. If your guests need another 'reminder' to book, then might be a nudge... (although at a cost!)
  8. My mom just booked, it came to $1500 for 5 days with airfare from NJ (connecting flight though). That's for single occupancy. (Room was about $200/night) My FI and I booked just our room (Jacuzzi Swim-up) for 6 days and it was $2200 no airfare. Our TA is quoting Jacuzzi Suite (no swim up) double occupancy at $325/night and Jacuzzi swim-up double occ. at $366/night...
  9. Claudia up-charges for Karisma brides, and unfortunately its more than the $500 fee. Her 5 hr. package is $900 more..
  10. Did you ever find anything about Mexican Wedding Photos? I'm considering them as well, Claudia is just a little out of the price range for me...
  11. Claudia Rodriguez is one of Azul Sensatori's preferred vendors, and their work is amazing. She does charge a higher fee for brides getting married at Azul vs. any other place. That pretty much is the same fee we'd get charged for using another outside vendor. Either way, Azul gets their money... I think that the welcome dinner, brunch, etc. are all per person fees. So may not be worth it for you to do an AI if you're paying for all of that too. I think we may use the Spoon dinner as our Welcome Dinner and not do a brunch... Once I start working with them on the details I'll keep you posted.
  12. Even though its AI, the resort requires you to pay additionally if you want space set aside for your group. I'm sure if you have a small party, you won't even have to mention it to the hotel and you can just show up at one of the restaurants. RE: subsituting the 40person dinner at Spoon toward something else (ie Rehearsal dinner, brunch) I asked if I could use that towards my Welcome dinner and Nancy from Lomas said no. Not unless I wanted to have it at Spoon. I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's experiences once they start booking their events. Right now I'm holding tight, since its too difficult to plan without the resort being open. Hope that helps!
  13. Hi Manders - can you send me the DJ play list. paa5872 at yahoo dot com. TX!!
  14. That's great! I'd love to see the list as well. I just emailed Nancy yesterday to see what DJ's were on their pref. vendor list. I'd like to get the photog & music squared away and then rest until the hotel opens on everything else. What's the name of the DJ?
  15. I used Wedding Paper Divas - I didn't think their prices were too steep. But I have to admit, I'm not one to be crafty... I paid about $200 for 100 STDs, Info cards & addressed envelopes. They were so easy to work with, and only took about a week to ship. I would highly recommend using them.
  16. I agree with you all, Nancy's responses are less-than-helpful - but I think until they are officially open and running we won't have any real answers. Sounds like for an outside photog you not only have the pay the fee ($500 or 3 nights) but if they're from outside of Mexico you need to provide info so they can work outside the country. Its probably has to do with insurance, etc. Hopefully your photog will know what info to provide, and that should help secure them for you. Looking forward to the opening, we're going to try and book a site visit for sometime in the fall/winter too. So the more info we can bring back the better for us all!
  17. I just spoke to Claudia's assistant, who told me that if they price-up the packages for weddings at any Karisma properties. So the price list that quotes $2200 for 5 hours is for non-Karisma. They have to pay a commission to work at the property so its passed over to us... Guess no matter what way you slice it, Karisma gets their $500 outside vendor fee! I think I'm going to book with Claudia anyway, all of her staff's work looks amazing. Claudia isn't available for my date, but I hope that Citlalli is...
  18. Sunrise and Sunset for Mexico – Quintana Roo – Cancún – May 2009 for sunrise/sunset times
  19. good points about the time! I'm confirmed at 6pm, I hope that its not too late... I'm thinking that I'll do pics with my family and he'll do pics with his family before the ceremony and then we can do all together after. Not sure how long that will take... I wonder if its too late to change my time to 5 or 5:30?
  20. So for everyone considering the Sky Deck - here is what I rec'd back from Nancy asking why the $1500 fee, and what else it inlcluded: Please be advised that the sky wedding package is more of an experience rather than a wedding package, which is why it is sold in conjunction with a wedding package. ?I have provided you with the package inclusions below for your review. (she copied and pasted from the website, again) Since they're not open yet, she wasn't able to explain to me any other ceremony sites. So I guess we'll have to wait until October. Has anyone been able to find out the process of getting an outside photog? I keep getting the answer: "You will have to pay a $500 fee" - but nothing else. How do you all communicating with Nancy/Fabio? Email or phone?
  21. Hi! I'm getting married May 24, '09 at Azul Sensatori in Riviera Maya. We've just ordered our STDs and hope to have them out by August 1. Still trying to coordinate a photog, but other than that haven't done much else.
  22. Congrats!! At least there are a number of us asking the questions Azul/Lomas, so we can all figure it out together. We're getting married at 6pm, wanted our cocktail hour to be at sunset. What about you?
