Have you guys read the latest on Trip Advisor? Ugh. My FI doesn't want me looking at it anymore, but I can't help it! I'm not worried about myself or my friends (free drinks suit us fine), just some of the older crowd. I hope no one gets stuck on the "family side" that looks onto construction rubble :| When we were at the hotel in Nov the sand wasn't rocky, its just not the white fluffy sand you've probably pictured. Its a little bit more flat and hard-packed. Might actually be easier to walk on...
  2. Congrats Magda, and thanks for posting your review & pics so quickly!! Everything looks beautiful!

We considered doing 2 back-to-back cocktail parties as well - on our site visit we found out that for cocktail parties chairs are not included. To us, 4 hours is a long time to not have seating options for our guests. I'm thinking we'll do a buffet, so we don't have to deal with seating assignments for 35 ppl. I'm hoping to customize something a little nicer than "BBQ Deluxe". Tiffany's last email to me was a little confusing - she said that we could have whatever food set up buffet style, but need to tell the onsite coordinators when we get there. When I find out more info, I'll be sure to share
  6. Hi Girls - I agree, that worrying is a little premature. FI and I were there last month for our site visit, and although the hotel wasn't perfect - we had a great time! I guarantee that in a couple of months they will work out the kinks and the place will be amazing. Even in just the few days we were there, you could see improvements day after day. All of our guests are coming to celebrate our special day and have fun! If there's seaweed on the beach - its unlikely that will be a deal breaker for them. The service at the hotel is amazing, even during opening week. So don't stress, and enjoy planning your weddings!!
  7. thanks Lenka for your review - I was there a month ago for my site visit. Sounds like not much has changed... Hopefully, the next couple of months will allow Karisma to work out the kinks. The water/beach was a disappointment for us too - but it did seem (when we were there) that they dredged the seaweed every day. So at least for ceremonies on the beach that can be rectified. Glad to hear about the BBQ menu - great feedback!
  8. Amy your pics are great, thanks for sharing! I'm also wondering how many guests you had, I'd heard from Carolina the Gazebo would only accomodate 20. Congrats!!
  9. I have the spa menu at home, I'll give you the prices that were listed. The menu didn't look 100% complete, it was just a photocoy - but will give you an idea. The yellow lights - I meant just yellow light bulbs in the sconces you see on the pillars. Nothing huge, but it was something I noticed when we were there after dark.
  10. Totally eases the mind to see it! Yes, we got to stay there. A few sections were open and all of the restaurants, although there a def. a few kinks to work out. We totally loved it though. Did see 2 weddings - both ceremonies were on the beach, very pretty! And the team was really quick to do the switch up of the chairs and colors. 1 group had their reception in the Plaza, the other at Zocalo (inside). The Plaza The Beach Platform - its kind of a strange spot for ceremony. Its in between 2 beach beds, so you'd really want the beach to be clear... Bridal Suite room (bad pic) Beach BBQ 'bar' area Zocalo - from the beach Zocalo Patio - They can cover these with table cloths. The light bulbs outside are yellow
  11. Beach can accomodate up to 200, Gazebo (forget the real name) is 20 and Sky Package is 80. Not sure when you get the sheet - I'm going to ask Lomas tomorrow. Keep you posted
  12. Hi Ladies - Just posted my site review http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...051#post599850 Also posted my TA review today too - should be up in the next few days!
  13. Hi All! Just got back from Azul Sens. today. You guys are going to love the place so no worries about that! I had my site visit with Carolina and Gilberto - both of them are great and seem so accommodating and easy to work with. Most of the info 'Mexicanbridewithquestions' posted following her site review - so I don't want to reiterate any of that. Few things I did find out that I wanted to share: Legal paperwork - you don't have to have anything translated prior to arriving for your wedding. You only need to have your birth certificate, passport and tourist card (you will have that upon arriving in Mexico). Gilberto just needs to see the exact given name and names of your parents on the BC. Ceremony locations: Unless you're opting for the Sky Deck - you really have only 1 option if you are having more than 20 guests. That is on the beach. Carolina & Gilberto did say they may be able to do a ceremony for 30-40 on the “Yoga Platform†that is on the beach. They’ve not tried setting that up yet, so they aren’t exactly sure how many it can accommodate. But a good question to ask if you like that as an option. Receptions: They are really firm on the 11PM end time – so budging. So think about that in relation to your ceremony time. We booked our ceremony at 6PM, so unless we can bump that up we won’t be able to have a cocktail party before our reception. Each cocktail party is 2 hours, they can’t customize for 1 hour (unless you want to pay for the 2 hours and only do for an hour). We were hoping to have a cocktail party type reception – no ‘sit-down’ dinner, which you totally can do – only glitch is, included in the price/person are tall cocktail table set-ups only. So, no chairs. If you want to have tables and chairs, you have to pay extra for that. Not a big deal, but something to think for your budget. Lomas – Basically, we have to secure everything thru the US based Lomas folks (Nancy, Fabio, Tiffany) – Carolina & Gilberto said to make sure to have everything you want included in the ‘Info Sheet†the US Lomas group is compiling for us. If its not on this list, then the team in Mexico won’t know to order prior. As far as very specific details (i.e. placement of flowers, tables, etc.) you can do all of that when you arrive. But if something needs to be ordered beforehand, they need to have that info prior. So I’d be sure to get a copy of this “Info Sheet†from your contact to make sure they’re capturing everything you’re requesting and pay for. Bridal Suite - Located in the Spa. You need to reserve thru Lomas, and you're able to secure only if you've booked 2 hours worth of spa appts. Can fit 3 people only. Hair/Nails/Makeup - Hair and makeup you can schedule a trial when you arrive. Although, I might skip the nails after hearing Jen's experience. Maybe a nice polish change will do Overall – I think the place is amazing and everyone’s wedding is going to be fabulous! It’s hard to plan from afar, but these guys know what they are doing. Let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to answer anything! I have pics, just need to figure out how to post so you don't have to download. BTW – did I read on the past few posts that Nancy is no longer there? Does anyone know who is replacing her? I haven’t rec’d anything from Lomas.
  14. Thanks for the great review weddingchick. I'm leaving for Azul Sen. next Thurs. Since they will be officially 'open' I'll be sure to take tons of pics. Let me know if anyone has additional questions, I'll be sure to ask
  15. great review!! thanks. i'm going to be there next week, so hopefully since they will be "open" i'll be able to get some pics.
  16. I'm registered! Thanks for coordinating. It would be great if they could explain to us what's included in the Sky Wedding Package offered at Azul Sensatori. I'm still unsure what is included in the $1700 fee. Thanks!
  17. Wow! Thanks for the update. I can't believe how much work is still needed... We're staying there in a month, I hope there's water in the pools. Thanks again!
  18. If you can find out what the deal is with the Sky package - that would be great. I'd love to have my cocktail party there following the ceremony. The way Nancy explained it to me, the fee only included having your ceremony there.
  19. Thanks for the map girls!! I'm working with Nancy to book my site visit - anyone else going to be there the first weekend of Nov?
