  1. I know The Royal Playa del Carmen allows kids for the day..not sure about any others though! I'm having the same problem
  2. wow Candice - awesome review of the resort!! I can't wait, I think we're going to have our honeymoon at the Valentin since we can't get married there - I'm soo excited!! Congratulations to you btw! What resorts are you deciding on?
  3. Thanks soon2bePowers. Unfortunately, we won't be having our wedding at the Valentin because we have one 3 year old that will be attending the wedding, and she is not allowed at the resort. I was so dissapointed when I found that out because we were pretty much set on this place! Claudette, look at traveller's pics on tripadvisor, they usually have good ones there.
  4. fantastic info!! I'm tired just looking at all the places you went to! I'm so glad you went to Valentin and that it was nice. This is one of our options!!
  5. bump Can someone send me an email with some information?? I've tried emailing them twice now, using both of the addresses they have on their website, but no response! thanks!
  6. I'm not sure if you're aware, but I believe ASP is going to begin allowing kids in April 2009. 1/2 of the resort will be adults-only still, but the other 1/2 will be more family friendly. It sucks for my FI and I because we wanted to have our honeymoon there - but we'll see how it goes!

    Hello

Welcome!! This place is insanely helpful!
  8. Congrats!! We were looking into this hotel..but I don't think we'll be having 80% of our guests staying there It looks like a beauuutiful hotel though!
  9. We expect to pay more.. I'm getting to the point where I don't care - I just want to have the wedding where WE WANT to have it...and whoever comes..comes! and thanks everyone for their input..it really helps out!
  10. texas_gal, could you forward me that info too?? I need to decide on a resort!
  11. We were quoted $2000+tax for a couple of 5 star resorts - I don't think it is terribly expensive (especially with them being really nice hotels), but I know I have seen them for cheaper..I think. My FI and I stayed in a 4.5 star in Feb for less than $1600..and that was during reading week and all. hmm..looks like I have some hunting to do!!
  12. How much are (were) your vacation packages to RM/Cancun? If you don't mind me asking... Especially to any of you travelling (or travelled) in July. The prices I got quoted seem kind of high..I'm wondering if my guests will be better off waiting or booking flights and hotels seperately...Almost everyone is a student, so they can't really afford anything crazy expensive. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I thought I read that somewhere.. if not, how much extra is it for one?

  15. Hi all, So I've been a member for a couple of months now, and haven't really participated much! My boyfriend and I aren't technically engaged, but we've been together for nearly 7 years and have decided to get married in Cancun/RM next July. I've just been creeping around alot and only posting here and there. But, I figured its about time to start participating more and asking more questions because its coming down for us to decide on a resort! Anyway, you ladies are already a huge help and, congratulations to all
  16. Sorry ladies, but I'm sure this questions has been answered, but I can't seem to find it..but, how much is it to have a private reception?

It might have been near the massage hut - it was kinda hard to tell from the photo, which may have been an old Sunscape picture. It's only going to be about 35 people. If she has it one of the restaurants, will it be private or will there be others dining there? Jacy told me that if you have your reception at one of the restaurants, everyone will be sitting at different tables because they don't take group reservations. I think I read somewhere that they can seat 8 at a table max.
  18. Well, I'm not "officially" engaged yet, but my bf and I have been together for 6 1/2 years and plan on getting married on July 13 (special numbers to us..7 and 13...). I THINK we've narrowed it down to Dreams PA or Moon Palace. Once we have confirmed a place..I'm completely lost as to what to do next! Yay.
  19. I recently stayed at the Gran Caribe (Feb) and it is a great hotel, especially with kids. My friend also recently got married at the BBGE and she said it was beautiful and easy (in terms of planning etc.). However, she only had about 8 guests, so it may be different. I think you're going to have to decide on location first - like me! soo many choices!

    hi all :)

My bf and I aren't quite engaged yet, but we're planning on getting married July 13, 2009 ...hopefully in the Mayan Riviera. I'm so glad to have found this site..probably the most useful ones out there!
