WOW…I have heard pregnant women say that nine months goes by fast, but now I truly believe them! Nine months later, I am so grateful to all of you for your creativity, honesty and mostly your willingness to share. Who says people in this world don’t care about strangers. You are all amazing and I wish you all the wedding of your dreams, but more importantly, a lifetime of happiness. Thank you Tammy for putting this up for all of us in the planning stages. I am posting this with a month to spare as things are starting to get a little hectic at work and with the wedding so better to put up what I have now than not get it up before I go...as we know how much everyone likes pics. My FI proposed in St. Lucia in May on the 5th day of our vacation after caring the ring (uninsured) around in his pocket everywhere we went for 5 day. My ering (was designed by a jewelry designer we know) Our wedding bands, made by same jeweler for us (FI designed/chose mine and I designed his off a vision I had). He made two for me (one for each side ) in case we were traveling and didn’t want to take the erring, I still have 2. very sweet. I will have to post next week as they are still being finished We are getting married at Capella Pedregal. A new resort that is not open yet but our residence side is. We are the first wedding their ever (wish us luck, site visit went very well here is the thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t34318). STD’s ordered from eInvite - Browser Detection Invitations designed and assembled by me (encore studios was my inspiration). Printed on Envelopments. I did a thread on these (http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t35522) BD Shoot being done on 3/14 and photographer is bringing it to the wedding as she only has 2 weeks to make the album and get it printed. Will be shot in a suite at the Ivy Hotel in San Diego. My oufits are all Agent Provocateur. I am very nervous! more....

When we went we visited several stores on 9th street. there is a whole street that advertises in the windows "Italian Suits" Be very careful as there are a lot of cheap looking/poor quality there. We didn't see any real Iatalian designer stuff at discounted prices, but did find a nice light weight wool 150 suit. PRices are less than are tagged. The one he bought first was $389 and we got it for $189. Good deal and he will wear it to the shower party. Good Luck

We had initially bought him a Platinum suit in the garment district in LA for an unbelievable price and when we went to buy him a shirt/tie we saw this Ivory Linen suit and had to have it (meant to be, again as there was only one in the whole store and it was a perfect fit). So much for saving $ there, but it is well worth it, I think he will be more comfortable and he will wear the other to our co-ed shower on Saturday.

So, it is the final countdown....went in today for my first fitting after alterations. There are some changes that need to be made (I didn't like the spillage up front so I am having her let some zipper out in the back so my chest doesn't look monsterous). Length is fine we only had to do the sides. She added boning and took in a ton through the bodice. The beading is still perfect and she did a great job. She is going to take a bit more at the waist so the bodice will stay up once she releases the zipper (tough as back is lower than the front). Anyway...my big challenge is the bustle...sales lady had shown it to me one way which the seamstress won't do. She says with my dress, French is the only way to go. Here are pics...does this look strange? (don't mind the hair I threw a clip in it to get it out of the way) Dress from front (with zipper undone 2" so there is no spillage) Full Back Bustle

Show off your shoes....

Here are my Louboutins...so excited my first pair! They are my something blue. I loved them as they are my Peacock blue which is my wedding color (nothing comes in this...it is all baby blue, Turquoise or royal blue). It must have been meant to be (and they have a little wedding button on the top. and I got these to wear in the sand after the ceremony for photos so i don't ruin my pretty ones prior to the reception. -
it'll bring you to the page for 5mm rhinestones just to give you an idea of the cost. I think the first one is like $7 for 1/2 gross (72 pieces). Are you sure you mean the Hot Fix and not the flatback rhinestones? The hot fix are the ones that you need the gun for, they kind of "stick" to the gun and then you glue them on. The flatbacks are ones that you need glue, a rhinestone stick that is kind of gummy to pick up the rhinestones, an iron, and transfer paper. Maybe you were looking at the wrong "type" of rhinestone? I am not sure. In the first post of the thread it says Hotfix Flatback so I have not idea. Per this thread she was making them with an iron and mylar paper so I am assuming Hotfix is the brand and flatback is the style?

Getting Documents Translated to Spanish
kerryjbrown replied to Cabosbride09's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
We are doing our legal wedding in Cabo and no one has mentioned that we need to do this? My judge's forms said I had to bring the items and passports/BC (which we sent ahead) and that I need to bring his divorce papers, yet nowhere does it say I have to have them translated. Are we sure this needs to be done? -
Is everyone doing a Sand Ceremony??
kerryjbrown replied to YaelM's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We were originally going to do it to include his daughter, but everyone I spoke with said don't as the day is about us and the unity of us and she is already involved with the wedding. They reminded me that we are going to have our children together and this marriage and the vows are to each other and our family (which includes her and future children). The people I know who did one, ended up throwing the sand away. So, the more I thought about it...we opted not to. It sure looks pretty in pictures though -
April 2009 Brides Check In!

Guest Book: I decided to do one but made an instruction card in a frame next to it asking them to write us a message, not to leave their name. We also put stamped/addressed postcards in their OOT bag to send to us. However, we are very into wine so what we are having as our true guest book is a signed wine bottle. We are taking a 3 liter of a very special red wine I bought to the shower and everyone there will sign this and we are taking a 6 liter of champagne to the wedding to use for our toast and then have everyone at the wedding sign it. Both will go in our wine/sitting room in the house on display. Our shower is going to be held at a friends house that has nice yard with outside fireplace. They arranged it all themselves (the girls have been so cute and having secret meetings for months and won't tell me anything). I only know it is at there house and they are catering it so no one has to work. I can't wait until next week, I think the shower will kick it off that is all real! i would say, save the cost of a restaurant and ifyou have under 50 ppl do it at someones house if that is an option. It will save on cost and keep it personal. -

I just found out they cannot alter my mom's wedding dress to a short dress adn let the bust out for me to wear on my rehersal dinner, because they are afraid the lace will fall apart....so sad. so now I am short an outfit YIKES! I have a really nice silk black short cocktail dress I bought for a charity auction that is lined with ostrich feathers on the bottom. Is it bad to wear black to rehearsal dinner? I was thinking as no one has seen it except my best friend and one couple who is pregnant and can't make the wedding it would work? Or should I move the ivory taffeta BCBG short wedding looking dress I just bought for the shower party (it is a co-ed dinner party for 50 ppl) to the rehearsal dinner? Don't know what to do... We just bought FI a second suit so he is now in a beautiful Ivory Canali linen suit for hte wedding and i LOVE it! I am so much happier. I took care of a lot this week. I got the luggage tags and pre-travel brochures in envelops and addressed, ready to go out on 3/1. I dropped of our little girls dress for alterations and to change her dress to how I want it. My 2nd fitting is on Tuesday 2/24 to check the alterations and fix the bustle. So outfits are done. Guest list is finalized (everyone sent back their RSVP cards but 2...WOW). Seating chart is almost done, rehearsal seating chart is done. Welcome Party is ready to go and in the hands of the resort now (opted for consumption which I don't think is smart with our friends and $12 cocktails). I still need to: confirm Dance floor (last minute item needed to change of venue on the prop) Confirm cocomats for the aisle get lighting for the dinner (again last minute due to moving it outside) placecard names (to be done this weekend) Shoes for ella (FG) BD shoot (3/14...doing it at the hotel suite before the bachelorette. outfits/shoes already purchased) Dance lessons...have not started...deep doo-doo there chinese lanters? yes or no? we are outside now, can't decide Music list (start) pick up rings this week and get them engraved finish welcome brochure, menu's, and instruction frames (typed but need to finalize and print) Doesn't seem too much...not feeling the stress yet. I am sure it will come. Hope youa re all having fun! P.S. first wedding gifts came this week (the entire set of 12 of our china...WOW!) -
I am so sorry to hear you lost your job...I have been in that situation over the last 2 weeks waiting to see if our company is closing or not. If the photobox is not sold, I would love it

I am not on as much anymore due to crunch time, our wedding party (co-ed shower) next weekend and all that good stuff. Good Luck

I am using Carmelita and Rosela at Beauty Lounge. I did a trial with them (http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t34288). I loved them and it was only about $82 for both.

How did you pay for your wedding?
kerryjbrown replied to nikkib's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
MY FI and and I are paying for it all. He and I work a little differently. He doesn't want to know the total all in (Thank God!) I have been paying as I go $2-5k per month as things come up. I am done at this point and my half is paid. He is paying for the reception food/drink & welcome party/reheresal dinner food/drink. This is all on one bill. He wanted to pay a lump sum at the end. I have paid for all decorations, clothing, rings, vendors, etc as I book them. This way we were both happy. -
What about Grandma?
kerryjbrown replied to jennalkennedy's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
My grandma is 87 and is joining us in Cabo. It is a long trip for her-3 hours to the airport and 2 flights to cabo. I have arranged for someone to pick her up and take her to the airport. She is doign the first leg along and I am flying her 2nd flight in combo with 4 people to assist her. I had my mom do the paperwork for her passport. I was a little nervous about it, but she is OK with it and everyone knows to keep an eye on her. Notify the airlines for assistance so she can have someone take her through secruity and to the gate, they will also pick her up on the other side and deliver her to the car. My grandma is now so excited that she went to get hearing aids after us begging for almost 10 years as she wants to be able to enjoy everyone while there and hear the ceremony. This worked out great for my family as we go that extra bonus. Good Luck -
April 2009 Brides Check In!

We spent the day in LA today doing some of the final "big" items. We met with our jeweler again and our rings are getting the waxes made so those will be done by 2/20 as well as a necklace he is having made for me to match (so sweet!). We bought his suit & got it tailored today as well. I have a lot of little things left to do like: dance lessons chosing music finalize room arrangements, timelines making menu's cards, name cards, etc... I have an ongoing list and surprising, there are stil 60 things on it (how can that be). YIKES! We leave 60 days from tomorrow....off to the races! I hope the rest of you are all on track! -
I am so glad you asked this. I just logged in to find out what size adn where people buy them for the best price. Looking forward to peoples feedback. If you have any pics of which size you used, please post! thanks in advance

Yeah! So excited. FI finally let me do a videographer. Not sure why he doesn't care about this piece but I really did and he finally gave in. Is that a sign of a strong marriage I can't wait to work with Dino! My aunt and uncle look at their video every year on their anniversary to remember the vows, the day, and what people had to say. I can't wait ot see this over the next 50 years!

Thanks so much everyone! Most people must have got them today as I got a ton of calls on them. I feel so much better knowing I did them from scratch. I never thought I could have done anything DIY, much less something that came out looking real. Could not have done it with all the wonderful advice from you all!
