  1. I am about 6.5 mos out and all I have done is purchased the OOT bags (as I am taking them down on my site visit in December) and a limited quantity (20) of what goes in them. I found that it takes up less space to leave things in their packaging versus separating it all out and filling the OOT bag for travel so I am goign to assemble there on my site visit. Only other thing I have done is wrap 36 fans (but now I think I am goign to need 10 more, but that can wait for final head count). I am finishing the logo this week (friend is trying to tweak the colors so when it prints it matches the ribbon perfectly, versus what we see on the screen). Once this is complete I can work on name tags, luggage tags, welcome brochures most importantly invites. So, that is my task for October. Good Luck! Dont' forget to have a wine DIY party with your girlfriends (mine are all mad at me that I have not enlisted their help, so when the logo is done...boy will they be sorry!)
  2. My friend is a graphic designer for a magazine and she says even with the professional photographers they have to add light diamonds as they don't photograph well. She said they lose their sparkle and she puts it back in (I asked if that was cheating as she can make it more sparkly than it really is but she told me it was normal for diamonds.....). Who knows...this may not even be true, but what she told me when I couldn't get my own to focus properly no matter what Fstop I used. ( went to a darker background and thtat was much better.

Kristy, Are you going to the Friday Night Fish Fry Street Party? If so....convince all to go (best to arrive by boat). I just went in May and it was one of our favorite parts of the trip. I thought it was going to be cheezie touristy (which is a personal dislike for me) and even though it was a lot of tourists, you get to taste the food and drink made by the locals (some right out of their houses). It is AMAZING! have a blast!
  4. To stick with the theme, a his/hers couples massage...
  5. I am in the same situation...in CA, mom in ID and wedding in Mexico. So...my mom who used to get on the internet 1-2x per week, now gets on daily (sometimes for hours if we are working on something). She is having me ship items directly to her instead of to me adn she is offering to do the DIY (paste my invitations together, sew my linens). I send her everythign I am thinking of via email (whether it is wording for invites, flower ideas, asking for help of where to find something...she does the internet legwork now). It has worked out very well. We can video cam to discuss things (and show her so it looks 3d) and keep the phone bill down. I did fly her out here for final dress decisions (and she wasn't upset I went before she got here to do some legwork). She is also going to drive down during my site visit (yes, all the way from Idaho to Cabo, stoppig in OC to pick up my items needing to go down like welcome bags and such) in December so I dont' have to fly with them. WOW! Talk about a mom's love....even though she is not here, she is a HUGE part of my planning and it has brought us closer since she moved out there 2 years ago. So, Suggestions: lots of emails, IM's, and pics back and forth video cam to chat send her things to help put it together Good Luck!
  6. Congratulations! Don't forget your FI! Have a wonderful wedding....bring back pics!
  7. What size are the sunscreens? If bigger than 1 oz, I will take them.

Cloth Connection is pretty amazing. There is also a rental company in Texas (and I think you can maybe order a sample) that is wonderful. I need to look for their site and will post it when I find it. Thank you, I am looking to purchase, not rent as we will be gone too long to get them back without paying a fortune. I will check out this distributor. Thank you so much!
  9. I ordered extra colors of ribbon as I could not decide on which green or acqua color. I have made my decision so I have 2 full spools , 27 yards each (the seafoam is missing 2 inches as I couldn't declide and clipped a sample to send to my mom for her opinioin). They are both 1 inch wide, Swiss Satin Double Faced. I used this ribbon (the other colors) to wrap my fan handles and they came out great! The spools were $32.15 each and I got a 20% discount (so $26 each). I will sell them for $20 each. Here is the link to see the colors. 10. I am in mortgage and my FI is President of our Mtg. Lender. BOth Wamu and Lehman are in big trouble. The good news is, if it is 100k or less you are insured and will not loss anything. If it is over 100k, get it out (at least the amount over 100k) as that is not insured and if/when it goes down (they are selling branches and assets so it is most likely coming) that money will not be protected. Good Luck

Ihave looked at it numerous times, but I need pure white with crystals. It is absolutely gorgeous and I love it, but need ot make sure it fits my dress for color? Thanks
  12. OMG!!!! SO excited for you! I say wear read or blue...something bright and fun since it is such a bright & spontaneous affair! Congratualtions!
  13. Can I still access this? I have mostly the generic fonts that came with the computer plus a few I downloand and a few a friend sent...Is that even worth me getting fonts in excahange? I am just starting to do my invites and need pretty font for the text. Thanks
  14. This is very cool. If you search "wedding" a bunch of peoples wedding playlists pop up.
  15. Congratulations on doing such a wonderful thing! I am sorry to hear about your daughters friend. I just finished walking the Breast Cancer 3Day last weekend and the friend I was walking for who had BC, developed Leukimia and died 2 weeks ago. This is a wonderful cause! Keep up the fight and the raise the awareness!
  16. I was told by someone who is local there and just got married a year ago to budget $200-400 per person, all in (not including your dress/travel). So far it seems I am goign to go over that as the flowers are a lot more than I thought they would be.
  17. What program do you all make these in?
  18. This is a great list, thank you so much! I cut/pasted it into an excel spreadsheets so I can make check boxes once I buy an item (as I seem to do it here and there) so I know what i have without digging around in the "wedding closet". I have also added the math formulas to calculate what you have spent. Hope this helps someone else. This is also a great reminder for items still needed. Thanks OOT Bag List & Budget.xls
  19. I have seen this done where you pin it to the bride's dress (no way would I allow pins in my dress in fear of ruining it!) and where the bride carries a basket. They seem to raise a lot of money. For us we will not be doing this. Our guests are already spending a fortune to come down and many are still adamant about buying us a gift even though we have requested no gifts.
  20. Not sure if anyone on here has done this or is thinking about doing the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk, but I just got back from my first year walking. This is a 60 mile walk over the course of 3 days (camping 2 nights with everyone). I did the San Francisco event last weekend and cannot begin to explain how amazing the experience was. The group was relatively small, only 2000 people walking (due to it being the first year here in 5 years so it lost momentum), but we managed to raise $4.5 million for Susan G. Komen for finding a cure for Breast Cancer. The most amazing part of the experience was the commaderie, strength, and support of these people walking. Some of which were recent survivors or currently in treatment. These women and men are so strong (mentally and physically, one was even in a wheel chair) that it brings you to tears that a disease would try to break them down. I feel wonderful (no soreness or blisters amazingly) and a huge sense of accomplishment (wasn't sure I could do it). I am signing up to do it again next year my team ("The Walking Boo-Bees") has already decided to travel to Washington DC for the walk there Sept. 11-13th (9/11 being symbolic and 9/13 the BDay of our girlfriend who had breast cancer and passed away 2 weeks ago at age 43). If any of you have ever considered doing this...DO IT! It is amazing! We can make a difference!
  21. I have not been to a wedding there, but when I lived in San Jose, we used to go there to hang out and have dinner or just drink in the lounge. It is very quaint and fantastic. Food, bevreage, and service were always great. There isn't a ton of room so I would only book if you are doing a smaller wedding.
  22. I am so sorry for you and your family's loss Kim. It is never easy to lose a loved one, and your family has already been so much. We are here for you to lean on so you have somewhere you don't have to be the strong one.
  23. I am so sorry Amaryllis! You have every right to feel upset. I would just simply let her know that she was missed and ask why she didn't stop by on her way home?
  24. Oh my....I just read this thread for the first time. I am so sorry for what you have been through over the past week, I cannot even imagine how upset you are. I hope your call today went well and there was a reasonable explanation for his lack of communication (not sure there could be one unless he was hurt and I don't wish that for you!) We are all here to support you and are wishing you the best!
