We were 55 in our group. We were married on the beach and it was great! A dream wedding. I know that for a fact that all weddings are now done in the gazebo on the beach; which is really nice. Damarys, the wedding coordinator did a fantastic job. She took care of everything. But I must say that communication was pretty difficult prior to getting there. So that part was very stressful. The day after arrival at the GSP, we met with her and she had everything ordered/prepared. We hired a trio to play on the beach. We brought our own champagne and glasses and we all danced on the beach for at least an hour. The ceremony was at 6pm which was perfect. 20 minute ceremony; an hour on the beach for dancing and pictures and then we headed out to the main area where there is a band that plays every night. At 8h45pm we went up to the Italian rest. (Mama Mia) where we had a private dinner. They had all the flowers brought from the beach to this private area of the restaurant. It was beautiful. The food and service was excellent. Would not change a thing. I can send you some pictures but I don't know how to post them on this forum. Do you know how I can send you a private message so I can give you my personal email? If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Carole

All I can say is that people have different opinions about the food at GSP. Do not expect 5 star food. We were a group of 55, not one complaint. My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks and we never got tired of the food. If you go to the buffet early enough, food is plenty and warm and good. Some a-la-cartes were very good and some so-so (I did not like the Fondu). I say for the price, go for it, it's worth it.

I think it looks like a fabulous destination and I have been to a sister resort the Punta Cana Princess which I loved I dont go until December but I will be happy to share pictures with you when I get back! And it's great to have more Canadians here Robyn Hello, Was married at the GSP on June 24th. Had a group of 55 people. The wedding was perfect. Damarys (wedding coord.) did a wonderful job. It was difficult to communicate by email but when I arrived, everything was just like I wanted. I suggest you get the Caribbean Trio instead of the Mariachis ($350). I hired them for after the ceremony. We danced on the beach. It was perfect and so romantic. They played mexican music. We brought our own champagne with plastic wine glasses. Had a table set up on the beach and to my surprise, Damarys served the champagne. Any questions, please ask.
  4. Hi my name is Carole I will be renewing my vows at the Grand Sunset Princess on June 24th. We are 55 people in our group. I just hope everything goes the way I dream it will be. It's not easy communicating with the wedding coordonnator and am a little worried but still very optimistic. I was wondering if anyone on this forum have any tips for me. Thanks.
