I can't believe this is all happening. I too had to cancel my wedding, which was scheduled for next weekend. We were still going to move foward but more then half my guests decided to cancel, including my WHOLE family. This has been one of the worst weeks of my life. We've been looking forward to this for over a year and a half and now it's gone. We were going to move it into June, but a lot of my guests couldn't make that date either. We are going to move it to September. SO FAR AWAY it seems!!! I think at this stage we're both numb to what's happening and to think it's all because the news media yet again blew something way out of perportion. Do you think we could sue for pain and suffering I'm sorry to all you other brides out there who have had to cancel. Lets keep our heads up - because in the end we're still going to get married to wonderful men and are going to have a great wedding! We're heading to Jamaica next week to unwind from all this chaos. I was so looking forward to laying on the beach with a drink in my hand, I'm not letting that go....

For all the girls who have gotten married at Bahia already how did you get everything down there; favors, gifts, etc? We have a lot of stuff to bring and Jazmin just told me I could ship anything to her because she has not room for it. I guess we'll bring it all in an extra suitcase, but I was trying to avoid having to do that.

The gazebo is beautiful. That's where I wanted to have our ceremony originally, but ended up changing it to the beach. Do you know if DJ Bob is for private parties only or does he work the disco as well? We rented to disco and Jazmin said the DJ only plays music. We were hoping to be announced as we entered the disco and have our wedding party announced, but we were told he only plays music. So now I'm thinking when are we going to be announced for the first time I have this picture in my mind of walking into the disco and the DJ saying..."for the first time...." Has anyone else rented to disco? Does the DJ act at all as a MC?

Don't worry, like Calchik said, Jazmin wouldn't give your wedding date away without a confirmation from you. Maybe you should just call her so you can rest tonight. I was having a lot of trouble getting Jazmin to respond so I called her and got all the answers I needed. They just work crazy hours down there....not that that will make you feel any better.

I totally feel your frustration. It took them nearly two months just to confirm my date. So I actually called them, once I talked to them I had all the answers I needed. So you can either send another email and copy Paloma which is a good idea, or you can simply call her. You shouldn't feel timid, this is your wedding and you need answers. It's very frustrating, but unfortunately that's how they do things. Good Luck!!! 10 DAYS!!! You must be so excited!!!! Can't wait to see pics.

For anyone who is going to choose the beach site for their ceremony, just want to let you know you have more options then what Jazmin initially provides. We are getting married on the beach and the pics she sent were pretty simple with just a table. I asked about arches or something else other then the table and she sent me tons of pics that are beautiful. Just an FYI... Happy planning

Well you girls will not be disappointed. Not sure if you are thinking about doing any excursions but we did one when we were there last and it was so much fun. It took us to one of the ruins, we went on a zip line, hiked a little, repelled down a small cliff then finished the day off in this small village where they made us real authentic Mexican food. The day was filled with a little bit of everything. Everyone was so gracious and nice. We had so much fun we're going to set it up for everyone to do while we're there for our wedding. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!!

I'm happy to report that my future BIL just returned from the GBP Tulum and said it's just as fabulous as it was 3 years ago when we were there last. He said he saw a couple weddings going on so I can't wait to get all the scoops. He said the food wasn't as good at Tulum as it used to be, but he is a chef here in NYC and very very picky. He added that the service is still great. I was dreading he would come back and say it's all gone bad since we were there last so it's a huge relief. Funny how many NJ girls are deciding to get married there. We decided on this resort b/c we were there years ago and fell in love with it - why did you guys decide on GBP Tulum Happy Friday everyone!!!
