where to buy koozies?
jhawkev replied to meghanmbm's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Just Google "customized beer koozies" and there are several companies that make them. I was just looking the other day because I think we might customize some with our Monogram in our welcome packages for guests! I haven't actually contacted anyone yet, but I believe they can be as inexpensive as .60some cents. -

So if you told her you heard from a few guests and gave her a few different instances she really wouldn't be able to shrug it off. Plus there's 2 sides to every story. I remember my MIL told me our TA was being rude and then TA (who I'm also friends with) showed me the emails back and forth from my MIL and it certainly wasn't the TA that was being rude in that instance. I'm totally for two sides of each story, but I have have specific instances with her myself and my guests have given me specific details. It was all over the phone, so I have no emails. My main issue is the way she talks to people. She says things in a condescending tone and truly acts like many of our questions are stupid. I normally am all over any one with bad customer service skills, but this is such a touchy situation and we have 6 months of time to go.... And she's the one dropping the ball and leaving out very important details that we need to know. She volunteered to help our guests with flights, but when a guest asked her to help she said there was a $25 fee per person (which she never mentioned to us), she's included transfers in the price, but they are not really available for all people. And I just spoke to another person who called on our deadline date and gave the her their information for travel and she never called them back. So the next day after the deadline they called her again and the price had gone up several hundred dollars. And much of this came out after people had a few cocktails at our engagement party, otherwise I don't think I would have heard. Because they didn't want to complain. Being a travel agent yourself, how do you recommend I approach it? We still have numerous guests that need to book and I'm not sure if I feel comfortable sending any more business her way.

And I just found out my fiance has already called her once about this, because she was rude to his sister. But I think it all happened on the same day.

Hi Ladies, I need some advice. Last night we had our first engagement party with friends and some family. Which was so fun and exciting! ......Until I keep hearing the same thing from several of our guests. That our TA is rude and bothered by questions or help they have needed while booking for our wedding. I am absolutely FUMING because I have had her treat me like this several times during our booking process (and have let it slide because I just want everything to run smoothly and am terrified to be a Bridezilla). This is our second TA because the first we received through another website was absolutely horrible. So my fiance found one locally and we loved her at first, she suggested our fabulous resort. But since our booking process has started it's a downhill slope of problems I'm starting to notice and her being rude to our family and friends for one of the biggest days of our lives is NOT ACCEPTABLE. We just had a deadline for prices she quoted us and I believe several people called on the last day (including us for booking the rest of our wedding party). However, when the process began we asked her if she wanted to deal directly with our guest. And she said "absolutely". We have our website with her own page, we sent her the link and she approved it. We have a group of about 30-40 people going, and everyone has different circumstances for which they need her help and advice and that seems to put her out in some way. Whether or not, some guests need more help than others, I feel that THIS IS HER JOB and we are giving her a lot of business. There is absolutely no reason for her to be overtly rude to anyone. Especially when no one has been rude to her in any way. Many of my friends were afraid to tell me, worried about making me upset. But I am very upset and need advice on how to approach her about this situation. We have already invested quite a bit of money and have to continue to work with her. But with how I'm feeling this moment I want to call and bite her head off! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Erika

And my friends are sending me this promotion, why would anyone book their rooms with my TA when they can get 25% off Jenni I couldn't find the prices when I clicked on the link. What were the restrictions? The only good thing I've experienced w/ booking through a TA so far is the payment plan option. Otherwise I would probably never do it again....and our discount was like 5% Abby: I'm getting ready to read your review, but about the DJ situation I would go for the Ipod. We are definitely thinking of going that route. You'll have the exact music you want when you want it and it will be so much more fun to have someone you know MC. My experiences w/ Dj's in Mexico is they like to play what they think is good music and don't "really" take requests.

I'm so excited to hear about all your visits! My request is the same..... as many pictures of ceremony options and any info that you can get out of them about reception options. And does anyone know if we have to do one of the wedding packages or can we pick and choose what we want from the options from the PDF's you download off of the site. And I'm still confused about Lomas, do they run all the events and is that who Nancy and Fabio work for? Lastly, should I be concerned that I confirmed my date weeks ago and haven't heard from Nancy or Fabio yet? Thanks, Erika

Lucky, I just heard from our TA and we are definitely confirmed for the April 11th. Thank you for the warning though! We are getting married here right before we go down so we don't have to deal w/ all the paperwork and blood tests. So technically, it's a vow renewal ceremony. But to our family and friends it will be our actual wedding. Now I have to start loading up our Ipod playlists and backup cd's. I'm not even messing with a DJ there. I haven't met a good one yet in Mexico. YEAH!!! I can oficially update my profile.

Well, we met with our TA today and she finally received our confirmation....but for the wrong day!!! When we originally requested our date it was available (after she sent them the paperwork 3 times), it was just taking them a few days to confirm the minister. Then they confirmed him for Friday night instead of Saturday. I just hope that in this past week someone else hasn't snagged our date. So now we have to wait til Monday at the earliest to see if this mistake can be fixed and who actually made the mistake. ARGGGHH Do you have to have a DJ or can we just use the system and hook up our own music with an Ipod?

Hi Ladies, Hopefully I'll be joining this forum soon. Our TA sent in our paperwork this past Friday, so we're just waiting on our confirmation for April 11, 2009. Fingers crossed, because I had my hopes up about the Paradisus and read their 60+ page thread, just to find out that we couldn't get anything close to our dates desired But I'm relieved because this Resort is soooo much better! Everything happens for a reason. I've been reading about the prices you'all have been quoted and we've been quoted $1580 per person for 5 nights (including transfer, taxes, airfare from KC). Sorry if I missed it but what were the other brides in late March/April quoted?? I know the prices drop quite a bit as you get into May and later. But I felt ours were still a little high. And did your quotes include travel insurance? Thanks, Erika

Okay Ladies, Thank you everyone for being so friendly and sharing w/ all your great insight. I know I've been all over this thread the past two days and I swear I'm not crazy!! Just on a very short timeline. We just got engaged not even three weeks ago, at the same time I'm going through a career change and going back to school (3 days after we were engaged). And I'm in school from 8-5 M-F w/ no internet access all day (it's a really intense program)!! I had yesterday and today off, so I'm trying to make the most of it. It looks like April and May are pretty much out and I don't really want to get married past that. Would it be nuts to see what's available in March, I was trying to stay away from it due to Spring Break, but I don't think this resort really has that problem.... Can someone give me Perla's phone and email? I might just call her myself to see what's available. You'all really are so great! Thanks Erika

Thanks Missy & Meredith! I was a little stressed earlier after spending too much time reading and researching. I've calmed down and have now caught up on all 61 pages of posts! Meredith how long ago did you book your date? We are waiting to hear back from our TA on availability. I was hoping for the 4th or 11th of April, |'ll just keep my fingers crossed. And I know you'all have touched on this some and it varies by flights but does $363 per night w/ taxes for 2 people (not including flight) sound about right or not? That's what we were quoted from our TA and for it being a Resort that DestinationWeddings.com partners with, I thought we would get a better quote. Isn't April getting into the slow season... Hopefully you'll be hearing more from me soon! I feel like I know everyone from reading all the threads Erika

Hi Ladies, I'm trying to make my final decision on whether to use the Paradisus or not. And trying to set a date, depending on availability. Jdelcamp and Meredith, you both have April 3, 2009 as your dates. Do they do more than one wedding a day? Or is one a typo? So I've just spent the last couple of hours getting caught up on this thread so I apologize if I'm a little behind. (I only made it through the first 30-some pages and there are like 60!!) I've gathered that they nickle and dime you to death, but for the most part I think every resort is going to be like that. We were originally planning on Playa, but are using DestinationWeddings.com to help w/ Travel and this Resort is in their "Circle of Love" and seemed to have some great deals. But I'm kind of nervous on how quickly everything adds up!! I've talked to a bride from Trip Advisor and she spent $10K on everything including the Chill Out Chic package w/ about 40 guests. Does that sound about right?? I'm already freaking out about everything and I don't even have anything set yet!! You know you do all this research and then if you can't get your dates, you have to start all over. I think I'll feel better once we have something decided. Any advice on what to go to the table w/ before we commit. Do they negotiate at all? Thanks so much, Erika

They are amazing! We used them in May and had a great day from 8am to 8pm. We're planning on using them when we have our wedding, we're going to try and set up an excursion for our friends and family. I recommend emailing them w/ any questions, they are very quick and helpful. It's the owner's wife Bonnie who you will be in contact with.

We just stayed at the Iberostar Tucan for vacation and I've been on Trip Advisor quite a bit. I believe Mr. Iberostar is an unofficial Iberostar website w/ a huge following. I've noticed from being on the TA message boards that travelers are very loyal to certain resort chains and whenever I would ask specific questions about other Iberostar resorts, they would always refer me to that website. Or if I would ask about Riu resorts, they have a website that's similar w/ all Riu info. I think it's legit. Hope this helps.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the board, my name is Erika and I don't have any details yet. Just trying to get some info on destination weddings. So I think I'm in the right place!
