Hi Andrea (or anyone else that may have already have had their wedding), Did you use the DJ? How was it? I feel overwhelmed at the thought of loading an iPod, managing the iPod, making sure the music flows. I'd like to use the DJ but the song list provided way back in this thread does make me a little nervous.... Thanks in advanced for your help!

Pre -Marriage Counseling: TO DO or NOT to DO?
katken replied to YoursTruly's topic in Random Thoughts
We're doing pre-marital through a private counseling service that my church suggested. Although we don't have to go through it, we decided to do it. So far we have taken an extensive assessment and our next session we're going to go over how each of answered the questions and see if there are things we need to talk about. The name of the assessment is PREPARE. It covered a lot of topics. I think it's a good starting point. I'll let you know how the next session goes! -
They have the Christian Louboutin shoes I'm totally obsessed with for my wedding day. The company looks like it's out of China so I'm sure they're knock offs, which is fine, I just want them to come at a decent quality. Has any one ever usesd them? We did Save the Date as well. What we did because I wanted something w/ formal wording too, was have two pages. The first one being the formal invite w/ my parents names and the second page is a boarding pass that I figured guest would put on the fridge for a reminder. I think the Postcard idea is great too. OOOOPS! I guess I won't be following etiquette...I am planning on sending my invites out at the beginning of February with a reply by March 1 for my June 5th wedding. I read somewhere that we have to give headcounts 60 days out for the priviate reception at Sensatori and before I knew that those rules wouldn't really be followed by Fabio, I ordered my invites. I hope my guests don't think I'm tacky. I just thought I was really going to have to give the resort the number 60 days out. I decided to go ahead and do the formal wording to honor my parents as they are paying for the wedding. I just did the invites in my wedding colors and they are very bright so I hope it feels a little less untraditional. There are a lot of discussions with excellent invite wording options, some of them very unique, under the invite section of the forum. I got good ideas and inspiration there, it may save you some time.

Yipee! Congrats!!!

I'm so worried about this too. We have to let the resort know a final # 60 days out. So I asked for the response cards back a month before that so I can have my mom follow up with family, etc. that don't send back their cards. Unfortunately I think it's common for people to forget to turn in their response cards even if we weren't doing destination wedding. I think it's rude, but I think people just honestly forget. Our weddings aren't at the top of their mind like they are to us!

I'm struggling with the processional song. I want it to be upbeat and fun and a song that everyone knows and smiles when they hear. Any suggestions?

Azul Sensatori - Magda and Neil's wedding
katken replied to Magda&Neil's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Yipee! It sounds like your wedding went perfect. Congrats and thanks for sharing. Please post pics when you get home!!! -
I hate to rain on the parade even more, but my cousin did this and almost all of the butterflies were dead in their envelopes. As a guest it was upsetting to open the envelope and find a dead butterfly...I agree that it sounds like a great idea but in the end is hard to pull off, especially with a destination wedding, shipping issues, etc.

To wax, or not to wax, that is the question!
katken replied to christenew's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Thread, thread thread...it's the way to go. It doesn't hurt as bad as waxing and it's not as harsh on my skin. I had my eyebrows waxed once and ended up with a uni brow of pimples....gross. Thread! -

And they've offered her and her husband a 3 night stay that expires in a year (even though her husband doesn't want to go back). It sounds like she's still a little upset with the final outcome. She's been great and very candid. I just wanted to let you'all know what she told me, not to upset anyone just to inform about how they're handling situations. Again, I'm sure most of these details will hopefully be worked out soon. I talked to one of my TA's who stayed there recently and she said it was beautiful and just minor opening kinks that every resort goes through. Here's a link to some of her photos: Picasa Web Albums - Melissa - Azul Sensatori The photos are really pretty. It's too bad she didn't have a good time and things didn't turn out how she expected. Hi Jenn, I'm so sorry you're frustrated. I don't have any good advice, as we aren't even married yet, just wanted you to know I'm sending you positive thoughts in hopes that it happens soon! Best of luck!

We are moving resorts for our HM. We'll be staying at Le Blanc for 6 nights and I think it's around $4 or $5k for the honeymoon suite. It's nice to not have to do airfare again.

Another Trip Advisor review....WTF! This is making me want to do a site visit soon and just see for myself. I spoke with my TA and she said she's already had folks down there that loved the resort. In fact, she has someone there now who got sent there because AZUL Fives wasn't ready. He emailed her from Sensatori and said everything is fabulous. I just don't know what to make of the whole thing. Is anyone doing a site visit in the next month or so?

Inside Zocalo, there is a buffet station that has chips, salsa, guacamole and various ceviches -- but this is just a side offering to their main Mexican menu at the restaurant. Hi there - How was your overall trip? Did you do a site review? I'm sorry if I'm an airhead and missed it. Any info you have on your experience that you could share with us...good and bad...would be great! Thanks!

Oh dear. I think I'm going to contact my travel agent and see what she has to say too. I've also shared the trip advisor link with my guest and now hoping it's lost in their emails so they don't see this. I'm trying to think of the best way we can collectively make a difference. I'm not sure all of us flooding Fabio/Tiffany with questions and emails is going to help. I'm wondering if the TA route is the best one...like everyone talk with their TA and see if they can be the ones that get some answers for us. I think they have different, higher-up contacts at the resort and if they're in jeopardy of losing business they may be able to get us some answers. Biggest problem = water - in my opinion. If the showers were constructed poorly with water seeping out, there's not really an easy fix for that. It seems plumbing and water issues are repeated over and over on the reviews along with the beach, which is more out of their control. At the end of the day, I'm stuck. I've got more than 45 guests already booked for their trip to Sensatori with deposits down. I've also already ordered my invites. I don't know what else I can do besides remain positive and hope it's all fixed for all of our weddings. I'm going to contact my TA, Berman Travel. If anyone has any other suggestions on how we can collectively make a difference by doing something professional and respectful (because I really feel like yelling at Karisma right now) please post your ideas.
