glad y'all like it! i can't wait to see it all come together....i'm not much of a visionary....so my mom and aunt are REALLLLY helping out to see the big picture. i'm more of a details person.... daniellenderek - the zipper was my mom's idea (inspiration: project runway - haha love it!)...she's a decorating genius in my opinion. you should see how much zipper we have...yards and yards and yards...... carly - great! i think you sent me some of her inspiration pics not too long ago when i was in bed recovering from surgery..haha those definitely helped me out!! thanks so much! thanks for the nice comments! i get inspiration from you guys every single day!

yay! i'm so glad y'all like them! i couldn't decide if they look like lunch boxes... ha. but they've won me over! i have to make about 10-12, which won't be too bad! (i'm putting one in each room + 2 water bottles) i purchased the boxes and tissue at a store here in san antonio called "perfectly wrapped": Perfectly Wrapped - Boxes, bags, Giftwrap, Invitations ((you can also google search "gable boxes" and there are TONS of sites from which to order. i just chose to go see them in person...but trust me, they look good!)) the tissue packets are from "tuesday morning", and i found them near the cocktail napkins section. the packet of 6 was $3.99 (so .67 cents-ish a packet), but they were originally like $13!! yay for bargains. the hand sanitizers are from bath & body works ($1 for 1 ounce) - they are tiny, but just enough for a few days. i'm heading out to target and cvs today to try and round up more goodies! i'll post updates!

we didn't send out STD's for either, but we sent invites for the DW super early so people could make travel arrangements. we picked out a separate (very simple) AHR invite to send to everyone invited to the AHR (including DW guests) with wording: xxxx & xxxx and xxxx& xxxx are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their children nicole & scott on saturday, january 3, 2009 in a private ceremony in cabo san lucas, mexico join us for a celebration on friday, january 9, 2009 at 7:00 in the evening ((place)) ((address)) we will send of the AHR invite during the "normal" time frame, which is like 6-8 weeks? it was tricky to figure out, but i like the way we're doing it! good luck!

instead of a bag, i'm going to have these OOT boxes along with two bottled waters delivered to my guests' rooms (via fiance's precious aunt who offered!). the gable boxes are small and flat AKA easy to pack! so far i only have: 1) the boxes (navy) 2) tissue (yellow) 3) 1 ounce hand sanitizer (coconut and beachy smelling - YUM!) 4) "B" (future last name initial) tissue packets for the ceremony i'm going to work on getting essential meds (immodium, advil) as well as sunscreen, chapstick, and snacks will be bought on arrival in cabo the water bottles as well as the bottles will have a custom label that i am in the (long) process of making, so i'll update with pics ASAP! here's what i have so far...

love this thread! it's giving me so many ideas to tell the fiance! i'm basically done with the bmaids' stuff, and here are a few pics! i'm making them beach bags (j.crew small totes on SALE! that are currently being monogrammed so i have no pics of those) filled with: -flip-flops to match their dresses (they don't have to wear them, just thought they were cute!) -sashes (linen scarves) to wear around their waist (use if it gets chilly) -earrings for day of -pedicure at spa for day of -in the process of ordering spa wraps from Smarty Pants -we also paid for their dresses (jcrew beach dress -SALE-) and their rooms! i want these to be nice because their plane tickets and food/bev in cabo will be $$$$!! earrings (bmaids on left & maid of honor on right) sashes and flip-flops

candles will be unscented, ivory votives (the ones pictured are just some we had around the house)...the ones we use will be a little bigger than those initials to use somewhere....maybe hang on entry doors? (1/2 price @ hobby lobby) old beat up frames found for $1 at hobby lobby to frame enlarged engagement pics same as above, except an old frame i used for a school project..haha metal oil latern (pictured in plastic wrap) to use for light @ guestbook table all in all i'm VERY pleased! we did the flower mock-ups on our own, but are considering hiring someone to do them the day of the party....agh! who knows.... yay for progress!!

decorations for the AHR have been bogging me down for quite some time...BUT the past few days my mom, my aunt, and i have been getting down to business! i'm posting pics of everything we've come up with in the past few days (some of the ideas were thought out beforehand but NOT executed...) *a little background on the AHR: -6 days after the wedding -at a place called Texas Old Town -ambiance is rustic country (but not cheesy!) -we're sending out approx. 250-300 invites..... -24 tables with 4 different centerpieces ordered denim tablecloths and making runners with side zippers centerpiece #1: mason jars and milk bottles centerpiece #2: patron bottles (large and small) centerpiece #3: galvanized cowboy hat cowboy hat detail: using beer bottles (texas & mexican beers - to represent where we're from & where we were married!) **centerpiece #4 will be galvanized flower vases?? any ideas welcomed!** continued...
