Hi Ladies! I'm looking for some nice brown leather (or leather looking) flip flop sandals for the groom and groomsmen to wear. They are all in tan suits. I ordered some online, the are brown reefs, but they don't look quite as nice as they did online. Anyone get any good ones for their guys you can recommend? Thank you!

Who's your WC? Mine is Gabriela and she told me $25 extra for orchids, cala lilies and peonies. I'm like...what does that leave just roses?! Let me know what you hear for prices. If anyone else has any good alternatives I would love to know. Thanks!

I sent a bouquet to my WC that had roses, orchids and peonies. I found out that they charge $25 extra a piece for orchids and peonies. Does anyone know if any good substitues for either of these that might be available in Mexico for cheaper? I'm not too great w/my flowers. I'm looking for a mostly white bouquet. I am also having a pretty formal AHR at a golf course near my place w/about 200 guests. We only have about 30 guests coming to our wedding (sibling, parents and close friends). None of our other family members are going which is the main reason we're having this. Plus, it's like having 2 weddings!! We're doing cocktail hour w/apps, sit down dinner, DJ and the works. The wedding party will be wearing their attire and I'll hire a photographer for a few hours. We aren't having a DJ for our wedding in Mexico...just an ipod. We still plan on doing a first dance and father/daughter in Mexico. For those of you having big AHR....are you planning on repeating the whole first dance thing I won't do the bouquet toss, etc. but thought it would be nice to do the dance again. What is everyone else doing? Thanks!

I agree....we're bringing a lot of business to these hotels. Seems like they've been hurting for business lately so they might want to try to accomodate us a little better. we're already paying close to $400 a night to stay here!

I just checked with Kiko and Carlos band and they are over $900 per hour! Plus they have a 2 hour minimum. I'm sure they are great and well worth the cost but I just cannot afford that since I am also having a huge at home reception. Bummer.

Hmmm...I e-mailed Adrian and he gave me a price of $200 for just the brides make-up. He didn't say anything about travel fees so maybe that was included. I also have a hard time spending $200 on make-up plus the day pass. I don't wear a lot of make-up to begin with but that being said I don't even really know how to do it for my wedding day. I'm thinking about just bringing my bridesmaids to MAC and them showing us how and buying all our make-up from them. I'm really not too picky and can't justify the $300!! Not sure what to do.

Has anyone had their make-up done at the resort? I am thinking about contacting Adrian (who Erica had) but am curious if the resort is good then maybe I could save some $$. How much is the resort make-up too? I am getting Mint Breeze package so it won't be included. Thanks!

I'm trying to plan my timeline and how many hours I'll need my photographer (Claudia...yay!). My ceremony starts and 3pm and the sunset is at 5:30. I want to have enough time to get some shots getting ready before the ceremony, couples shots before the ceremony, group pictures after and also couples shots on the beach after. Pictures are super important to me so I don't want to rush them. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm going with the Mint Breeze simply because I can't justify $66 per person for the dinner. Plus, I'm getting married in January so I think the banquet room will be fine with the wind and cooler weather. I am considering adding on a cocktail hour outside before the reception and possibly the mariachi band.

Erica, I have a few more questions for you :-) I'm thinking about getting a band for the cocktail hour, would you recommend the mariachi or something different. It looked like you had a jazz band or something. Does Barcelo charge you a fee to let an outside band in? Did Barcelo make your cake? Or did any outside bakery do that? Did you just bring a picture of what you wanted? For the cocktail hour, do you know how much it is per person to have the apps? One more, do you know if you can request specific drinks for cocktail hour/reception? My colors are blue and green and I think it would be awesome to have some type of blue drink for the cocktail hour. Thanks for all your help!
