Have fun at your bachelorette on Saturday! Oh, it was so much fun. I look back on all my stuff fondly, but am also happy it is over. A lot of you are still in the planning stages! Be sure to let me know if you need anything. I have a ton of stuff left over. Are any of you having receptions once you get back too? GTKY: Birthday is Dec 12 1981. -

Grrr...oh well...what's done is done now! lol That's what I would've chosen too! I can't wait to see them when they arrive. Will you post a picture? It is a great idea - definitely worth posting in the attendant gifts section. Good buy! -

Dreams Punta Cana - Reception Locations?

We are trying to figure out if we should have a DJ come for a few hours to play after dinner or if we should all just head to the Disco instead? Thoughts? Thanks so much! Nicole We had Maria as our coordinator and I never had any issues with communication or her getting back to us, as some people seem to have had. She was great to work with! The resort is gorgeous. It is so lush, and there is wildlife (flamingoes, parrots) everywhere. The pool is just amazing too - it goes all the way through the resort, so there is a lot of room to just laze around. The beach is good too. Some people complained about the coral reef, but if you went swimming to the left of the watersports it was all sand, and so much fun! No one really got cut up or anything like I've read on some reviews. The food was delicious too. I personally didn't think the DJ would be worth the cost, and after using just our ipod (with a playlist we made ahead of time) and the speakers we rented, I would stick with this decision. The private reception has to end at 10:30, so there isn't a lot of time for music. There was space on the Bordeaux terrace for dancing, but we didn't do a lot. We just went to the disco after dinner. Also I would recommend the video. Depending on what you are doing for photography (bringing your own or getting the resort photographers) the video was totally worth the money. It was not as cheesy as I suspected it would be, and it is such a nice memento to have right away. We got it the night after our wedding! It was a nice way to see our guests reactions and expressions, as we didn't really see them during our ceremony (we were looking at each other, obviously!) If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me, or post here. -

Great pics! Congratulations! -
Danielle, your story made me laugh!! What a fun time it sounds like she had! LOL Lucy106 - Dreams Punta Cana is GORGEOUS! It is the lushest resort I've ever been to. The food was also really really good. We had a perfect day, and everything turned out so lovely. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone considering a wedding in Punta Cana. Though it is far from the airport (only and hour!), it is well worth the bus ride.

The menu we chose was crabcakes (excellent), wild mushroom soup (loved it), steak and shrimp (also very good) and tiramisu (didn't like it very much but there were other options). There are four options for each course, but you have to pick the same for everyone. The food was all excellent at this resort, no complaints from any of our guests. The cake was AWESOME. The best wedding cake I've ever eaten and in fact our guests said the same. Most liked it better than the dessert and there was plenty for everyone! It was so moist. We chose vanilla. We did the symbolic ceremony, which was conducted by the wedding coordinator. Maria was our coordinator and she was great to work with, though some of our guests couldn't understand through her thick accent. In fact, when we repeated our vows we weren't sure sometimes of what she said. Just to be forewarned so you can memorize your vows! We were legally married here in Canada before we left. -
total wedding cost?
chika replied to dainanewell's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Our entire wedding bill upon checkout was $2000. We had a private reception for 34 people (Gold Package), video, caribbean trio, speakers for the reception, bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, had my hair done, had cake, champagne toasts, etc. We were married at Dreams Punta Cana. If you want more details let me know. -

We used the Bordeaux Terrace - it was gorgeous, with plenty of space and a view of the ocean and beach. We had 34 guests. -
I'm back now too!! We had the perfect day and everything went smoothly! I'll write an update, but I'm back at work now, so it will have to wait.

Wedding Party uneven - OK?
chika replied to FoxyBride's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We are uneven too. It's very common. I've got 2 BM and one MOH and he's just got his best man. -
Have an awesome time! Not sure if we'll cross paths, but good luck all the same! I think we get there on your wedding day, but not until late. By then you will be a married woman!
