I am getting married June 25, 2009. Our wedding is going to be held on the beach at the Iberostar Parasio Del Mar at 5 pm. I have gotten through the following: *Reserved a "Welcome Cocktail Party" with drinks, appetizers and a Mariachi band for Wed, June 24th. *Reserved the wedding date, time and location *Reserved the Tropical Restaurant for a private reception. *Booked the DJ *Booked the photographer (Claudia Rodriguez) *I got the STD's out about a month ago. We are going to have a casual party (luau theme) when we get home. I have picked the date, July 25th. Reserved the hall & caterer. And included the party information on the STD's. I have found the place card / favors that I would like for the wedding in Mexico. I am waiting to order until I have a better idea of how many people will be joining us. I invited 165. So far 5 have booked. Based on verbal yesses we are expecting about 40 - 60 people to come to the actual wedding. I am going dress shopping in two weeks. I can't wait! I feel like I have so much to do but I am limited in what I can do until I have a better idea of who is coming.

I think all weddings are hard. Destination or not. I have heard horror stories from friends about their families or the groom families on what they prefer / think about the plans. Just try and tune it all out. It is your day - do what you would like and enjoy every minute of it!

Thanks for the information on Bacalar, Mexico. I am getting married in June 2009 in the RM. We have been trying to decide on what to do for our honeymoon. After seeing your post and doing some research on the area - it sounds like the perfect honeymoon spot!

I noticed a few threads with some Iberostar brides but I haven't seen any posting lately. I am getting married at the Iberostar Parasio Del Mar on June 25, 2009. I was wondering if there were any other Iberostar brides out there.

I am getting married at the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar. However, I just returned from a trip to the Adventura Spa Palace in May 2008. I highly recommend this resort. The grounds are beautiful, food is great, and service is excellent!!! I did not have a single complaint about my stay there. Unfortunately I have one guest who is under 18 (he will be 16 at the time of my wedding) and they would not make an exception. Otherwise my wedding DEFINITELY would have been held at the Adventura. If you would like to see pictures of my trip let me know! I have also heard great things about Secrets Capri. A good friend of mine went there last year for a wedding and she said it was amazing! Good luck finding a resort!

I booked Claudia for my June 25, 2009 wedding. I chose the 5 hour package at $2250. I am getting married at the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar which charges a $300 fee for using an outside vendor. I have requested a contract from Claudia but have not heard back (I already paid the deposit). Does anyone know how she normally works? Is an email confirmation enough or should I press for a contract?

I am getting married at the Del Mar in June of 2009. I am going to have the reception at the Tropical Restaurant. Did you get a chance to check that out? Also, did you take a look at the beach wedding site and the gazebo? I am still undecided as to which site to hold the ceremony. Any information that you can give me is much appreciated! Thanks!

I have not visited this resort previously but I have heard wonderful things from friends that have stayed there. So far the wedding coordinators have been wonderful! I booked my wedding at the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar for June 25, 2009 (I just got the confirmation from the WC that we are all set). The room rates that I received from my travel agent were very reasonable. I looked into the Lindo and the Grand Paraiso and the prices were significantly more expensive.

I am 99% sure that I am going to book at the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar as well. I am waiting to hear back to see if the date I would like is available. I am requesting June 26, 2009. If that works out - we will be at the resort at the same time!!! What are you planning post ceremony? Are you doing a private reception or dinner at the Ala Carte restaurant? I am considering having the ceremony and then a private cocktail hour with mariachi band. After the cocktail hour we would have dinner at one of the restaurants. But I am still unsure about that - I am waiting on the pricing for a private reception. I am torn about what to do. Any suggestions?

My name is Jennifer. My fiancee (Will) and I got engaged this past May. He proposed the night before we left for a vacation to Mexico. We had such a wonderful time on our trip that we decided to plan our wedding in Mexico. We are looking to get married in the Riveria Maya on June 26, 2009. We have it narrowed down to three resorts - the Paradisus, Grand Palladium or the Occidental XCaret. I am waiting for our travel agent to get back to me with pricing before we make a decision. If anyone has any comments or information about any of the three resorts - I would appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
