  1. My FI didn't want to register for china but I did. I showed him the pattern I liked, at Macys, but we both thought it was too expensive (kate spade). We found a similar pattern that was quite a bit cheaper (Mikasa) and we both loved it. We registered for the entire set and got it last week, he loves it. I didn't figure we would use it all the time, but once in a while I will bring in out just to make regular dinner a little more special like my mom used to do when we were kids. Since it is Mikasa, it is relatively inexpensive to replace (I am a klutz) or purchse the items we don't receive. It is beautiful dinner ware and I will use it as an excuse to have parties. Do what makes you happy, it is your wedding/honeymoon/bridal shower/time. In both of our families, relatives have been very generous when one of us has gotten married but if you don't expect to receive certain gifts and you wouldn't be able to afford to finish the set, register for the things you really want and will use.
  2. I'm sure I got the idea from a post here, but I thought since I ordered the postcards with a blank back, I'd print some address labels with our address and put it on one postcard in each bag and ask our guests to write us a little note and send it to us. Since we ordered 100, there will be enough for them to take home as a momento as well.
  3. I haven't received any emails from Vistaprint or anyone else new but I clicked off the "send me future offers," and "share my email with others."
  4. I was looking through the threads to get ideas for my OOT bags and I stumbled upon the thread about postcards through vistaprint.com. Before I buy anything online, I always visit retailmenot.com for coupon codes. I found a shopping tip: if you type in www.vistaprint.com/overstock, it will take you to a website with a bunch of different coupons like 250 free business cards and 100 free postcards. Click on the postcard picture. All you have to do is select one of their designs (I selected a landscape design because the back will have something beachy on it) and right click on it and select replace. Then select search our image library and type in a key word, I used "Cabo," and whatever pictures they have will come up. Click on the picture and you can crop it. Enter whatever text you want on it and move the text around, click next. Then you design the back side, I chose a blank back side, and click next. During the check-out process, you'll have to look at some ads but it is worth it, all you have to pay for is shipping. I got 100 postcards for less than $7.00. Also, I thought the business cards would be cute if you're doing a room key holder.
  5. I asked Erika about this, she said the Tequila bar is near the beach and it costs $15 per person.
  6. I was worried about this too, I asked Erika if we needed to give a deposit and she said no. I spoke with my TA and she was surprised we hadn't booked our room yet because all the weddings she had done weren't confirmed until you book a room and give CC info. We went ahead and booked our room, gave the CC info and confirmation code on the Riu website and then our date was confirmed. I have heard nothing but good things about Erika I think she tries to contact you and establish a relationship early which is why she is contacting you before you confirm. I would do it now if I were you, imagine if you printed invites and planned and your date was given away. I also received a confirmation voucher email once all was said and done.
  7. I like the sash, but you could add a necklace too. You could have a different sash for your MOH or for each maid if you have a lot.
  8. I think renting La Pacha is money well spent, because it will be totally private. I would also do the champagne toast on the beach too. I know its extra money but just like cabobridey said, how often are you going to have champagne on the beach? We're planning on doing it for our wedding too.
  9. That's what I did, I just wasn't sure that was set in stone. I thought we'd have to pay something?
  10. I'm a tiny bit concerned. I know my wedding is almost a year away but I figured we'd have to put some sort of a deposit down to hold the date and time. I asked Erika (who by the way has been wonderful), and she said, nope she'd contact me two months before my wedding. Please tell me this is normal. Erika has been super nice and helpful, I hate to keep bothering her. I just don't really know how things work.

    Thanks everyone!
  12. We have the same problem but with my family not my FIs. I don't think its too much to ask to save $100 month IF they want to come. We are also having a "welcome home" reception too for people who weren't invited or couldn't come. A BIG expense but we are only inviting family to Cabo. I think if someone REALLY cannot afford it and you REALLY want them there then, yah, pitch in a little bit. Otherwise you can't afford to pay for everyone or else you wouldn't be having a DW.
