If the money really bothers you, look into a different photog for just the TTD. Our photog is charging us $400 for our TTD shoot, and she charges $500 if you aren't doing your wedding day pictures w/ her. I think you should do it regardless. These pics will probably be the ones that you and DH love and enjoy the most! And don't worry about being "plus size" if you are comfortable w/ yourself you'll enjoy them! You don't have to do them in the water. Wear a dress the flatters you and you'll look GREAT!

No other girls willing to help?

Hey, there is actual a whole area for just RM/Cancun area vendors and accomdations/sites: RM/Cancun Accomodations & Site - Best Destination Wedding Forum I did a search of Grand Palladium and narrowed it to just the RM/Cancun area accomodations and found this, it might really help you! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t3198 Also check wedding reviews. You can find alot of info there, this is where the girls write the reviews for all of their vendors. Any girls having there weddings at these resorts will have info and their opinions of the resorts there. Most subjects are already covered, always use the search you will find SO many things! Good luck!

Help with funny t-shirt saying!
Jacilynda replied to Saraha's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I'm bringing this one back up! Especially for the new girls to see! I loved Lauren's t-shirts w/ the still drunk from breakfast and thought I'd look and see if you girls had some other ideas. This thread is amazing! I love the "I now pronounce you... actually I can't pronounce anything!" We have a friend performing our wedding and this is perfect for him. Also I was hoping we might come up w/ a few more! -
Ultimate TV Question: DirectTV or Comcast?
Jacilynda replied to Infinity22's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
I actually used to work for directv before becoming a stay at home mom and wedding planner. FI is actually trainer for DirecTV customer service and techs. And we have everything for FREE! Quote: Originally Posted by Jess I have Direct TV and love it - you can get TIVO or DVR. They actually no longer have a contract w/ TIVO, so they sell DIRECTV's DVR, which has more hard drive, can do everything TIVO does, and doesn't have the annoying clicking sound! DirecTV only has a contract w/ TIVO to give their service to customers who still have the TIVOs. Also, sorry, but I STRONGLY suggest you don't bundle your DirecTV w/ AT&T or Verizon! If you do all of your billing is done through AT&T and Verizon. Especially when you first start AT&T and Verizon have been known to double bill you for a few months, and once you're bundled DirecTV can't do anything about it! If DirecTV makes a mistake such as PPV or extra charges you weren't supposed to be charged, they can credit it back to you (it will credit towards your ENTIRE phone bill), and any changes will usually take about 2 months to post to your bundled bill. And if you miss a payment or 2 from AT&T and Verizon they can shut off your DirecTV and DirecTV can't turn it back on until AT&T or Verizon call and verify! Best bet, is what Maura said, get Vonage! Although DirecTV says that you HAVE to have a phone line connected, you don't! The phone line calls back to DirecTV letting them know what you've ordered, PPV or sports subscriptions. It will only hold so many, so if you don't have a phone line eventually you won't be able to order PPV through your remote, you'll have to do it online or call in. A little bit of rain or a gust of wind & no satelite service. With Cablevision, we don't have to worry about that so I'd take Cablevision anyday over DTV. As soon as Fios is availalbe, we'll be making the switch! Also, Cablevision offered the current package/special which is cable, internet & phone for $99 but we didn't get that. Rain and wind should never cause you to lose service, unless its a tornado or hurricane! It sounds like either your dish wasn't tightened enough into place, or was off a slight on its pointing. Think about it, if your dish was off by 1" by the time you reach the satelites in space, you're off by 3 miles! If you're going for cheap, DirecTV has NEVER claimed to be the cheapest, and never will be. Although it really is the best deal for HD. You're price is really going to depend on the services you are wanting. DVR, HD, sports and what channels you want. Let me know what you want and I can let you know what you'll get w/ them. -
LOL this is great. FI and i saw a always commercial last night and were saying that that is DUMBEST slogan ever! We weren't even thinking of bloating and cramping, its just dumb! This really made me laugh! Thanks!

So I contacted Cellar 360 in SF. Their license doesn't allow them to ship beer, just wine so that's why they can't ship it. If you go down to the winery in SF you can buy it. Island Princess and I have talked, but I'm hoping one of the canadian girls can get it for me, or if someone in SF might be able to go down and pick it up?... Just cause shipping from Australia is a couple hundred $$$. If you can help PLEASE let me know.... I would be forever in debt to you!

I wonder if that's something that he would really need to pick out himself, KWIM? Does he smoke Davidoff 4000s dominican or cuban? If they're cuban where is he getting them from? My FI wants some.

What should I do next?
Jacilynda replied to bashigyal's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
You're doing pretty well. It's always about the 6 week mark that a bride panics and it's the perfect time cause you still can get everything done w/out rushing. I'm a planner at home so I have a HUGE checklist. I went through everything and here's what you didn't mention to think about, in the proper order of priority: Wedding Cake (I don't know if you have this set w/ resort or what, but just needs to booked.) Accessories purchased (don't leave anything to buy til last minute, cause you may not actually get it purchased) Book rehearsal location and start working on preparing (unless you have someone doing this all for you) Book hair and makeup Dress should be fitted Order favors Put together ceremony programs Get pre-wedding haircut The next few are done w/in 2-3 weeks before your wedding Start working on Table assignment, numbers, and placecards Confirm final guest count Adjust table assignment accordingly The last two must be done 1-2 weeks before your wedding Have final fitting if needed Schedule mani/pedi Then you are all set! That will actually lead you up to the day before when you should get your mani/pedi and RELAX for your bid day! Good Luck! -
Thank you girls! I know you can have it UPS or FEDEX, I've heard of people having it shipped from Canada. Specifically Vancouver. I know Molson sells it. The alcohol content shouldn't have anything to do with it. VB has 4.8% and wine is much more than that and you can have wine shipped. I will call them tomorrow and see what they say! I expect it to be expensive. To just have something the weight of 24 beers is expensive to just ship. I googled before but not specifically for san fransisco, all I found were several forums of people asking the same question and never getting an answer. I knew I could count on BDW girls! I will let you know what they say tomorrow.

Hey girls.... So we went to Australia this summer and my FSIL fell in love with Victoria Bitter. She first tried it cause her name is Victoria but then loved it. She enlisted in the Marines this fall and is graduating in a couple weeks. She gets home just before Christmas. FI and I are wanting to surprise her with Victoria Bitter to drink Christmas day. Although, its not FDA approved and can't be sold in the US, you have to order from somewhere else and have it delivered. I know its sold in Canada, so I was wondering if any canadian girls, or the few australian girls would be able to get a 24 pk of the stubbie bottles and ship it to me, of course I would pay for all of it. TIA!!!

For family that has passed away
Jacilynda replied to mandalaybay3071's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
If you want butterflies I would contact your WC to find out who you could contract to do that. If you want other memorial ideas, there are TONS on the forum. Just search memorial and you'll find things from poems, butterflies, candles, seats etc. -
My FI has a "man room" although we call it a "man cave" not the "man room" I've never heard that til this thread. His man cave has a recliner and extra seating with a flat screen and directv. It's where him and the guys smoke their cigars. We also have an entertainment room that's all decorated w/ Minnesota Vikings and Vancouver Canucks. I bought him a vikings rachel blanket for that room. I few video games, and xbox360 a new humidor and a liquor decanter.

PS3- as said before, it plays blu-ray. So you don't have to buy a blu-ray dvd player either and they are about $130. It also upconverts non HD movies to 1080p. 1080p is the best resolution you can get. At this point most television stations don't even play 1080p cause they haven't filmed much in it yet. (Sorry I used to work for DirecTV and my husband is a trainer at DirecTV so I'm always hearing about HD). It also plays PS2 games and PS1 games. And theres a 98% that every new game will come out for it. So you can play old games, new games and watch hd.... its above 360 for sure!

I am in!!! I will PM you and sent payment now Ann I agree w/ missing 2 weigh-ins in a row. BUT I also agree w/ not weighing in week 2 & 3 cause you usually don't lose weight those weeks. So here's what I think: If you want to send in your weight on week 2 & 3 that is fine, if you choose not to, then you should either not be able to miss a weigh-in, or you can only miss 1 other weigh in. Otherwise if you were allowed to miss 2 in a row and weeks 2-3 that's not weighing in 1/3 of the time. What do you girls think?

Sarah, I would wait until last minute to sign up. Depending on how your delivery goes you may not be in any shape to work out. I like $15, if we were going to change it I say $20 at most but no less than $15, I think $15 is perfect! Are we changing any rules? Are we having to submit bbefore and after pic, or a pic each week, or skippjing weigh-in the 2nd/3rd week?

I'm just disgusted that they hurt their family in this. I think spencer is a tool from the show, but I've read and seen alot that he would give Holly the world if she wanted it. He's really great to Holly, and we all know how reality shows leave out the truth. At this point MTV knows everyone hates them, so they probably take every chance they can get to only show the bad moments, and we ALL have them. It's just sad that her family wanted so badly to just be informed, but they were heartbroken! Holly was upset that she didn't even call afterwards to tell and she had to find out from the media, but she thought it happened saturday afternoon or Sunday, but she started crying when she found out it happened on Thursday and Heidi didn't take the time to call them, not even her mother.

Congrats Christie!!! I have been waiting for BL4 to end! I was gone out of the country when it started and missed the beginning so I have been kind of just holding off and really working out til BL5 and now I'm soooo bummed that it isn't starting til January. I was really looking forward to the motivation of BL5 over the holidays! Oh well, I would like to say that I'm in for BL5, but i have to start working out and getting in shape, its killing me not to. Although, I know once I start I'll be on a roll, and probably will be at my goal by BL5. If not then i'll be in BL5. You girls are soooo motivating! I also agree that 12 weeks is better than 8 weeks. 8 weeks just isn't quite enough and 12 weeks isn't too long.

Similar Dress??
Jacilynda replied to fudgie's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think almost any designer has a dress similar to this, even david's bridal. I'm not sure what your reason for not getting this one is, but have you looked into having a seamstress make the exact same dress for you? There are seamstress' that will do any dress you want for like $380.
