Well the good news is you started w/ the most expensive so they next estimates you get will seem great! I found w/ us we are both students, I'm a stay at home mom, and joe also works full-time we had a small budget and no room to budge. I found on a lot of things I didn't really ask for a generic estimate. I told them what I wanted, how many people I had, and how much money i could spend, then asked what are my options, what can we do. it got me much further than just looking at large over priced estimates that I couldn't fathom and only bring you down. i think the very 1st thing for a wedding is budget, if have money to spend and don't care about budget then great, if not set a budget. There are several different budget calculators online that you can put in what you would like your overall budget to be and then add in what items you need or remove some of the things they have on the calculator that you don't need. Then it will spread out your budget among your categories to give you a basic idea on where your money should go in each area and how much. Trust me you can have the wedding of your dreams on any budget and this forum has girls w/ fabulous weddings of all budgets!

OMG Debra!!!! I honestly can't tell you how pissed I would have been! Unless of course there was nothing they could do about it! Ok so UPDATE!!! So that night we drove up to our lakehouse. Joe's older sister is living there right now for a few months. We got there before she got off work. But, as soon as she walked in the door she immediately said "Jackie, I have to talk to you" So the situation w/ her is she was charged in Montana but lives in ID so she has to have permission from both states to leave. Her PO was sure it would be fine because his recommendation was to let you go. Well, ID said yes, and MT said no. This had only happened 3 days before, their mom was the one who told me and she made it sound like it happened weeks ago and she was hiding it from me. She said she hadn't called yet cause she wanted to find out what her options were. Understandable. So she called up her lawyer and he put in a motion for her to be able to leave the country and she paid $500 to have it expedited. Her lawyer told her not to expect the judge to approve it, and he can't guarantee he'll even have an answer in time for her to go. So we're not counting on her and her FI coming, but we're hoping! Then Joe's younger sister....... his mom told me she wasn't approved for leave to come so she might not be coming. Well I talked to her the other night and she has leave approved, but after the drug wars in MX we all know about the ban on soldiers traveling to MX on leave. So she has to fill out lots of paperwork and do some classes. So the other day she said she spent 7 hours filling out paperwork, and she took her safety class the other day, her paperwork is on the Colonel's desk (which funny story, the Colonel has the exact same name as her and Joe's dad!) but she's just waiting for him to sign it, or not sign it. keeping my fingers crossed but we'll see! My sister (MOH) put in the wrong days off for school! I bought her ticket cause she's broke and she was traveling w/ us on 4th but we changed our flights to the 1st cause the flights were better after on the cuts on MX flights. She wants to go on the 6th when everyone else is going. So she took time off for the 6th - 11th. But to change her ticket is $514.87. I'm not paying for that, my mom can't pay it, she certainly can't pay it. So she is trying to change her schedule, but she had a dr appt on the 5th (the day before she thought she would leave) for tests to see if her dr will even let her go (she'll be 7 months pregnant). So she has to see if she can reschedule that. Oh well, if everyone comes then YAY!! If not more cake for me!

I KNOW!!!!!!!! 3 weeks from tomorrow I will be laying on the beach in Mexico!

What about local jewelers and not like a large chain type store? I know we have a local jeweler who makes amazing custom rings, but it only takes her a month and you can pay her a fee to have it done in 2 weeks. But someone like that could make the ring just like you like it. Or what about etsy? They could use the diamonds out of your current ring and just make a smaller band!

I agree w/ Ana and Andi. We were already told that we would get a couple of teasers, but it would take them weeks to edit all of them and then our photog will put them up online for us to order from until November 8th (our wedding is August 8th), and then he would send us the disc. So we'll get the disc 3 months after our wedding, if we want stuff sooner we would have to pay extra to expedite everything. Just be patient. You won't care how long you waited once you get them!

We are bringing 2 photographers, but really because we got a good deal, LOVE their work and we're getting more coverage. We are spending the same amount (only because we got a SMASHING deal) as we would have on the photog we picked in RM but they are shooting our welcome dinner, ALL day the wedding day, and a TTD. One of the other reasons alot of girls like to bring their own is they get a free engagement shoot and they get to know their photog before their wedding, etc. Its only your preference though. Some of the top photogs in the world are in Mexico. But read the thread MarieSam posted cause BM has the new policy

One thing to check on! Someone posted this site a while back about the disposable cameras and when someone called they cameras had expired. Of course they may work fine, but then they might not. I know they list some items w/ exp date and others they don't. So maybe call to make sure the ones you want aren't expired. You wouldn't want to give out a bunch of cameras and then not have them develop right! I checked out of some of their other cameras and they were showing they were expired so these might not be! But I think last time someone called and found out they were. If they aren't TAKE 'EM!!!

Thanks girls! Its really crazy how much your body changes after having a baby. I still have a minimuff on the belly... I need to do some serious toning to get rid of that i think and WOW I have hips now! Good thing Joe likes em!LOL I really have only lost this much because of this!!! I would never have kept myself accountable! So thank you girls! I actually feel alright about jumping in a bikini in Mexico in a few weeks! My buddy Vikki oh man she really pushed me in the beginning and made me realize i was gonna have to work to get somewhere! Thanks again Ann! I am very happy results and needed someone emailing me on Tuesday to say put your ass on the scale in the morning! HA!

I lost 17lbs this season so really only 10lbs after my BL5 after pic above: I lost alot of love handles and butt/hip fat this season and also lost some boobs! YAY! I went from a 34 DD to a 34C

I have seen them a couple times but then last night was looking at iDIY to see if they had anything new and they had just posted the new cherry blossom wraparounds and I was trying to think of what I can mail!!! i have our AHR invites coming up that I think I'll do! But then i popped on here and saw this thread and had to throw out the idea!

If someone decides to do another season good luck! I'm so close to my goal and wedding time I won't participate. I will try to get Joe to take some after pics for me. Probably not today but in the next few days I will get one done! He gets home late tonight so I will have one up by friday! Thank you to the Sacred Heart Girls! This really really really helped me and got me out of my rut! It really helped me out this week. Although its not something I plan to do all the time its something I can definitely do when I gain a few pounds. I didn't ever even finish out a whole week but it works. I started my mom on it and in the 1st 2 days she lost 8lbs! She just finished her first week and lost 18lbs! Good luck to you girls who are continuing on your weight loss!!! I'm slowing losing it! I leave in 3 weeks and have SO many things to do for wedding and my daily life!

I haven't really heard about people criticizing her and saying they pushed her. i guess I had to pause it several times throughout to do stuff and knew by the end that she was gonna talk so when they were all up there I was just watching her to see what happens and if you watch it from Jermaine talking several of them come over and ask her if she is sure she wants to and she always says yes, then when janet said she was gonna talk first Marlon leans over and asks her if she's sure she really wants to and she says yes. I'm sure she thought it would be much easier than it was. But knowing it was coming and watching her the 5-10 minutes before I didn't get the jist at all that they were forcing her. I only knew about his casket cause I had been watching CNN for a few hours before and they had confirmed his casket would be there about and hour or hour & a half before the memorial I think he would have loved it!

seriously your sister got horrible nails done. I have NEVER heard of such a thing w/ gel. I can't stand acrylic, they're hard, hurt when you hit them on anything and look fake. I love gel whenever i get mine done I do gel. My gel last as long as acrylic and have held up just as good as when I first had acrylic. but, gel look much much more natural. You can get the white tip w/ gel too. I will have gel done before we leave. I usually don't need a fill for 3 weeks, but really depends on how quickly your nails grow. I have had gel while on a trip in Hawaii, and when we go to our San Diego house, had them in South Africa, and in Australia. i picked those places cause thats where I've been in the water and I've never had my nails fall apart or chip in salt water. I say stick w/ them. YOu'll love them, they look so natural and aren't as stiff as acrylic so don't hurt when you bump your nails on something
