Too many colors!!!!!!!!!!!
Jacilynda replied to *HOLLY*'s topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I actually like the idea of blue, linen/khaki/sand/tan, grass/lime green, and coconut/off white! You don't have to pick a set blue or set green, you can mix different shades. -
I am in for the challenge! I can honestly say the best legs of my life I used to lunge around the house LOL. When I get on the phone I start pacing so I would just lunge pace around, by the time I finished a phone call I had a a workout! Glad that info helped you girls. It made feel better, like I was ok! Of course they aren't saying we dont need water at all, but if we eat healthy we don't need to force ourselves to drink 8 glasses! I haven't weighed myself yet! Its been kinda hectic! I'm off to do it now! YAY Deanna! I really can't wait to see yours and MarieSams photos!

She's not really well known here. She's a song writer so unless you're really into music most people don't know who wrote the song some famous artist is singing. Although I HAtE the finale song she co-wrote! She can sing though! watch this: KaraDioGuardi.com She wrote practically Ashlee simpsons entire first album & second, gwen stefani-rich girl, she's done alot w/ idol contestants: archuletta, kelly clarkson, brooke white, and most of kris allens album coming up, oh and Pink's sober. Not many people here really new her until she started idol

Too many colors!!!!!!!!!!!
Jacilynda replied to *HOLLY*'s topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I also used the knot. the knot shoes different color schemes and setups so you get an idea of what the colors look set up. I really wanted red and lime but joe saw fuschia and turquoise and liked it. Joe could really care less about the wedding as long as i show up, but whenever he has made a point that he likes something I go w/ it. It's OUR wedding, and he rarely give input so when he does I use it, it's nice to get his input! Although, he wanted the star wars jedi theme to play as we walked down the aisle together. I wasnt thrilled w/ this but now he has to have it! I gave in, its 5 minutes of of our 7 hour ceremony, cocktail and reception. And I know there are a lot of things I put my foot down and said no I want this, so why isn't he allowed to do that? -
hi hun! I read these. Alot of us use the blogs to show our planning stuff as we go and such. On the left hand side of the screen in the blogs you can search for certain words or do and advanced search. Hope that helps!

Okay so I have this long list of things I need to buy, and a long list of things to do! I work for a lab a couple hours a week. FFIL has several companies who pay him alot of money (like $25,000 + ) which i don't get that much but I get a decent amount for running samples for 6 weeks for their projects. Well my list is so long cause I usually do a project at the lab for six weeks and w/in 4 weeks of finishing I get paid, and I usually start a new one 2-3 weeks after finishing one (if I'm not already doing them simultaneously). So I finished one at the beginning of April and haven't been paid. Its a lot of money and Joe and i hadn't budgeted for that sooooo I've put off buying wedding stuff until I get paid, which should be this week. I was looking at my list and freaking out for days, but realized yesterday I can pretty much buy everything this week when I get paid! the to do list is a whole 'nother ball park! the good thing is really that my to do list is a lot of projects i needed printed and assembled, but I need to go buy more ink. Can I say THANK GOD for Rebecca! Okay I had alot of DIY projects left to do and didn't know how I was going to get them done, but they were things I REALLY REALLY wanted. I wasn't willing to give them up. And as far as BM's I had 4, A (MOH), S, M & K. A is my sis and she couldnt glue 2 pieces of paper together straight so I never let her DIY and she doesnt like it anyway! M is 3 hours away w/ no time for projects, K is in the Marines, and S is really creative although she's been really wishy washy w/ our wedding. S is the BM who backed out in my previous blog. So since S backed out this week and hasn't really been there she wasn't able to help. S was also supposed to do my shower, but now isn't so I'm so glad M stepped up and is going to host but I have to set everything up. YAY for Rebecca! Okay, back to becks. I trust her, I have a hard time trusting people w/ my projects I'm always bothering for updates, but Rebecca could do her own thing and I'd just say whatev! So Rebecca has made me AWESOME luggage tags. I haven't gotten them yet cause we're still working on so many other projects! But I wanted something knew and not the regular. We made mini postcards! they have pics of akumal on one side and on the other say thanks and then where you would write your address is where they write their info! I love 'em! And they are a bit bigger and have different cases than the regular ones we see, so i CAN't wait to see them. then she's made my oot bag tags, tags for my pashminas, and now that I'm setting up my shower we're working on shower invites and then she's gonna help me with AHR. Oh my gosh what a relief! Next task, I had on my list was to update my registry and make sure we had everything on there. Well I did it on macys.com and I went and it was GONE! So now i have to start over! task of the day!

What size runner for 60" tables?
Jacilynda replied to DarcyJAde's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
How much do you want them to hang over the table? 108" they'll hang over 2' on each end. 72" they'll only hang over 6" -
Did any of you see Oprah today? VERY GOOD!!! She had Dr. Oz and Bob Greene. the show was on healthy eating and losing weight. Its not up on youtube yet so I'll keep an eye out for it there were 2 researches they did and the results SHOCKED me! the first was do we really need to push ourselves to drink 8 or more glasses of water a day? Now this was done on people who are considered healthy. they weren't incredibly healthy, they drank, ate chips, choc, etc but in moderation and are consedered healthy. the part of it they showed was these twin sisters who drank 1.5 liters to 2 liters of water a day. they thought they needed this to stay healthey and to have beautiful skin. so they took tests on them especially on their skin as far as moisture, elasticity, etc. then I can't remember how long I think it was 4 weeks they kept their same diet, but one girl consumed the same amount of water, and the other wasn't allowed to have any. their was NO change in their stats. Dr. Oz said as long as you keep a fairly decent diet we don't need to force ourselves to drink so much water. Our food has ALOt of water. a potatoes is 75% water, a lean steak is 60% water, etc. the second thing they did is they took a ton of girls who were generally healthy and just liked to treat themselves alot. they took half the girls and did a week of detox diet with them, almost all different shakes. and the others enjoyed a normal healthy diet and in the end there was no difference either! We just have to eat healthy! Period. For long term weight loss we need to exercise. Here is a good video and some stuff from Dr. Oz and Bob greene: Dr. Oz Video - How to Find and Maintain Your Ideal Waist Size - Oprah.com YOU: On a Diet Basics - Oprah.com Bob Greene's Diet and Fitness Back to Business Plan - Oprah.com Bob Greene's Best Life Diet Recipes - Oprah.com

Ok I think you look great in the second dress. It screams bride and you look soooo happy! I'm glad you are keeping the 1st one. I think it would be great shortened for an AHR or shower or something. I think the 1st one screams you!, but I don't think it screams you as a bride if that makes any sense HA!

I thought it was hard last month cause we had SO many, but it may be harder when you have a small list of really great girls!
-
thanks girls! I actually really enjoy things like this. We definitely learned our lesson this time w/ shipping cdn girls to me and I'll send them USPS, but we live and we learn! I'm a stay at home mom so this gives me something to. I have laundry and the daily housewife tasks HA! But I really like putting together parties and organizing things. I was a WC but decided to break while doing my own! So this was fun for me and I'd be happy to do it again! I know there are some winter girls considering it

I know!!!! We had to rearrange our tickets cause of flights being cancelled and such due to no traveling cause of the swine flu. So now we're leaving 4 days earlier than we were and I know its only 4 days, but its 2 months from next monday (just a little over 2 months). that seems crazy!!!!

hmmm... I haven't thought much of it cause usually its about a month before they really start playing it

Maybe if I make a list...VENTING
Jacilynda replied to ashey063009's topic in Just venting or funnies
I'm glad everything is coming around and turning out great! One thing I might mention is we all know the issues w/ your photog, who is now a BDW member, and you have mentioned in your thread about him that things are going well and you are talking about things. You didn't mention any of that in this so it kind of made it sound like you were really upset w/ him still but I wanted to make sure it was known that you have come to an agreement and not leave him sounding like a horrible person. -
I like the first but its definitely ok to not have found the right dress. there were certain things I loved the first time I went shopping and from then on wanted to find a dress that had those qualities. Did you find anything you liked about the dresses you tried on? For example I LOVED ruching at least on top on the mamas if not down my body. Which is down my body on "the" dress

Amazing Real Touch Flowers-- Lots of Pics
Jacilynda replied to ashey063009's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Her name is shavon and I'm actually using her! She has AMAZING prices and wonderful work! I should have my proofs this week or next week, I can't remember! She's having surgery so we moved them back a little and of course I will be sharing! here's a thread from a while back bringing up her site http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t34390 -
BUMP!!! I'm bumping this since Abbie was going to post a poll tomorrow. We don't have many nominees, not like last month! And, there are lots of deserving women! If you have someone you think hasn't been mentioned and deserves to be step up and nominate them!

ASSUMING it was actually stolen! Our airport screens alot of bags by hand and when its busy it can be easy to take something out and forget to return it to a bag, or the wrong bag. Sorry I really stick by the airport and it really could have been an honest mistake. there is a chance it could have been stolen, but probably not likely. Airport employees don't have time to go through peoples bags and see what they have. I understand some people don't understand how airports work, but if you plan on traveling you should do some research especially on whether or not to leave your wedding dress in checked luggage. Ladies DON't check your dress! don't check medication, keys, any important documents. Not only could things be removed during screening, but its very common for bags to get damaged, such as falling off a cart on the tarmac and catching and being dragged around it will rip holes and no guarantee all of your stuff will get back, or a bag is damaged during flight, when you open up the cargo if one random thing is out it isn't easy to figure out what bag it belongs to or if a couple of bags break or rip open. Aside from NOt putting those things in your bag, if there is something really important you do have to put in your bag and you're concerned about it go buy a tsa lock, they're $5 and tsa has a key to get into them, but no one else can get in w/out the lock code
