Congrats and welcome to the forum!!! I was married at Beaches Negril and we are seriously considering going to T&C for our 1st anni. We looking into both when thinking about our wedding and after considering cost for our guests to go to T&C and that since we had already had our date in mind... they were still working on the French Quarter section at T&C, we went with Negril. Negril is beyond AMAZING and I am soooo glad we made the choice. Negril is the highest in $$ for Beaches in Jamaica but cheaper than T&C .. but totally worth it. The size of the resort(larger) compared to others along(You never feel that OMG too many people. They were totally booked my week too) with the perfect sunsets it just did us in.

Hmmmm have you spoken with the "elders" yet about this. I think it would be a great option as the resort is soo mixed with people. BUT I would prob suggest Sandy Bay for pricing purposes and such as Sandy Bay is alot more cost effective if they will be spending alot of time at Sandals with the rest of your group. Plus the properties are closer together. Honestly, I can't remember but they might have to pay for day a day pass from Beaches to Sandals. I would check in with that. Another thing to think about is when you have people booking sister resorts is that are they coming for a vacation and your wedding ... or coming because it's the wedding. If they are coming for the wedding... try and keep your guests together, as I learned with one of our family guests, they stayed at Sandy Bay and felt funny when they got to our resort.. like they didn't want to be disrupting us or catching us at a wrong time. They came over everyday to the resort, but when you have to borrow other peoples rooms for changing, keeping bags, and freshening up.. I can see where they were coming from now. Now our couple that stayed at Sandals... they came for the wedding but turned it into serious vacation time. They arrived 2 days before we did and stayed at the resort for 9 days. We actually only saw them 2 times, day of and day after - party purposes really. But those are my random thoughts for the moment. Ask more if you need!

I think I have tried on this dress or an older verson of it but I know it was an AA. I loved this dress also, and thought about having my original dress and then this verson as my reception and AHR dress. In the end I did not go with this and kept my orig dress as my all around dress because I loved my 1st dress too much. I will say it will all depend on your height. I am only 5'2 and I would have had to worn some serious heels and maybe even had to alter the bottom so that it would not drag (which I thought would compromise the look. My bridal party was with me that day.. and they actually said I looked shorter in the dress than in real life. Try it on though... you never know what you are going to love and totally be over in seconds. My dress.. hated in pics. BUT on me totally in love!!

LOL it's ok though we had a bit of "Good Morning" Nook.. LOL

I have mine... my Dr said the same. We have been just waiting the whole month now before I do anything. I had an IUD for 5 years and before the wedding we took it out and I have been using the Nuva since. I actually wait the full 4 weeks to change mine out (every 17th) We are not worried if it happens and for me, my body has decided it doesn't like periods anyway.. so even at 4 weeks I don't get one with it in. We (dr and I) have checked recently because I was worried that I still wasn't getting anything and I am a healthy momma to be when that comes. I think you will be fine.. just cycle it out at the 4.

We actually bought them but my son unpacked them and hid them because he wanted to keep them. We got down to the resort and all the kids were bummed they didn't have anything to make castles with. So my MIL ened up going into the gift shop.. They had them but were $26 bucks for a normal state price of maybe 10 and she bought 2 for the 3 kids to share. Granted they loved them to death when they got them.. but I felt guilty she spent so much when we had them at home. Maybe the Blue Diamond Market has them so you don't have to bring them down .. if you want to get in a quick shopping trip before the resort. Other things we used were Bucket Hats from OT- used everyday... Beach Balls from OT.. DIY iron on tshirts that had "Wedding Crew" on them. And kid friendly books about Jamaica. Oooo and sucker ring pops that had a tropical fish as the candy.. another thing that was a hit. -

2bebridejamaica replied to DWbride09's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Hmmm I didn't notice that... No one ever said anything to me about it. Just make sure you get the super fine paint pen. I bought a fine pen and it came up much thicker than I expected on the first few. Also make you are relaxed.. because I was getting all stumbled after a while. Good note if you catch it quick.. wipes right off! -

These are super cute in person too!! I actually used them for my AHR for the guests that spent the night with us at the hotel. I put our names on the back and date with a paint pen. Everyone loved them. If you need anymore, I actually got mine from Oriental Trading so that is where I would look. -
Concerned about Beaches....
2bebridejamaica replied to Hopelesslyblissful's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Oooooouuuu I have heard nothing about Beaches Negril turning into a Breezes..That would be a HUGE shock if they sold off Negril though I will say as being a Beaches Negril bride and having my guests at Negril, Sandy Bay, and Sandals Negril .. Beaches Negril sells out alot more so than Sandy Bay.. Negril is also alot larger than Sandy Bay all around, plus Sandy Bay does not have a spa or rec facilities .. they use Negril with a shuttle service going back and forth. Our guests actually wished they paid more to just stay at Negril but it was sold out the week I got married and they could not transfer even for a few days. I guess I am going to look into this now because we thought of going back... -

How much did you spend on your AHR?
2bebridejamaica replied to GracieBebe's topic in At Home Reception (AHR)
As now I stand corrected in another post I did a few days ago about something like this..(I told Jay about the thread cuz I had to ask) we actually ended up with a grand total of $6K. We had 104 people attend and this was 5 course with either prime rib or chicken. It was a full formal event to celebrate and recreate the day for grandparents because they are serious old school and hated the fact that they would not be in attendance due to health. We had it at a rest. that has a complete ballroom.. actually shocked me a bit but it was Jay's choice and rated on The Food Network for Best Steakhouses. It was a package deal for 5 hrs of time. They actually called it an anniversary party, due to us not really needed some of the other items. We lucked out as Jay has been a DJ for so long that the company offered it to us as a wedding present... savings $800. My flowers alone for the day because I was silly and wanted to have close to what I had in Jamaica was over 700.. YIKES.. this was dumb for the amount we actually got even with a discount because the place gave us a $ amount we could spend on flowers as part of the package.. but again January, Massachusetts, and Tropical flowers I should have known better. If I attempted to put dollar amounts on favors, table runners, gifts to family, hotel rooms, and all the other small items that went into the day.. my total would be more on the $7500 scale. I bought items as I saw them way before the wedding knowing I was going to need them for this. I guess it really depends on where and when you will be having it and who can help out with what if you are going alone and cooking 100+ hamburger and 100+ dogs yourself. But it adds up quick espec with a large number you are thinking.. I would be amazed with a 1K budget. -

Bridesmaid Drama- Need to vent
2bebridejamaica replied to DarcyJAde's topic in Just venting or funnies
Nope, we have not talked at all really. She emailed after the wedding to snoop mostly on who else went and where certain people were. I commented back on a few things.. but left her to wonder and try to dig out the info somewhere else. In an email she went on to say "It's too much work to hate you anymore".. NICE way to start an email right Everyone knows the game with her ... so mostly my friends will play nice when she comments on something to them on FB or MS. But it's for the best now I see. You can never make everyone happy and have the 3 sets of friends - friends forever- friends for right now - and friends you will one day meet. Hope this helps 8o) -
Congrats Sonja and welcome to the forum... Where in Negril are you thinking?? Negril overall was the most amazing vaca we ever did. The sunsets and beaches were amazing!!
