So far this is what I have learned from him... Honestly, bling is bling to me.
White gold is not the same white gold in our mothers time. If you took your moms white gold and put it up against something of today... TOTAL DIFFERENCE. Reason being, they don't "hit" it with Iridium anymore and use Rhodium in its place. Rhodium has higher yellow properties than Iriduim which is a true white metal. Hence the reason for taking it in so often to get re-rhodium-ed.
I'm a hairdresser and for the amount of chemicals I use on a daily basis with things like Nickel, Alcolines, and other metal properties that are found everyday in chemical services. Jay obviously had to turn into the jewelery snob he now is. We have seen what and how quick my white gold has changed... so this time around he went with the Platnium for my Ering. I can tell you right now though I have had it for 9 months and only had it buffed once because of my damn scissors compared to in the same period.. my white gold had already been re-rhodiumed.
