In the wedding we have my daughter, my best friend, and my two sons obviously opposite them. I think.....and this is just in the thinking phase - I will have the four of them be there when the guests arrive, seat them, have everyone put a shell in the sand thingy, or light a candle (haven't decided), and then the grand entrance will be made with my husband and I approaching from each side and walkinng across the bridges, meeting each other, and walking down the isle together. Just a thought that I am tossing around. I can walk the isle alone, with my two sons, or my husband. Don't know which.

I picture my husband starting on one side and me on the other, both of us crossing our bridges and meeting in the middle...is that corney? This would be my "here come the bride" ....

Dez, doesn't this area look like it would make beautiful pictures? When they sent them to me, I made the last one my desktop picture - I can see us making our entrance (we have been married too long to walk alone ) and that alone is making me really excited. The other terrace's are just kind of concrete slabs - it would be all in the decorating. Of course, every area has the back drop (ocean) to die for. I think whatever you chose will be very memorable.

Melissa, I have gone to Cancun in November. December, February, May, June, and July (couple of times) - never in August. I can't answer that one ) Dez - how are you? I was looking at the map and thinking about the times I have been there and none of the terrace's they have listed is on the beach. I think the closest you will get to the sand is the Sea Terrace, but I think I remember it being by a retainer wall - meaning you would have to jump down to get to the sand. Take care!

Melissa, I have been to numerous places in my life - and I will tell you Cancun and Moon Palace is one of my favorite places in the whole wide world. Moon Palace is top of the line - both Sunrise and Nizuc. Sunrise, in my opinion, is more of the party side. But...both sides are magnificent. The Chapel Gazebo and Chapel Garden are on the Nizuc side. All the gazebo's (3) are on the Nizuc side. None are on the beach, but you can see the beach from all. I have just recently received pictures of the Chapel Garden area and I am completely thrilled that is where mine will be. I will figure out how to put those pictures in here on a message. I have to run and will be back shortly. Nicole

Also, most members if not all are put on the Sunrise side. The big pool is on the Sunrise side as well along with salon. The sunrise side also has a lot of fun activites. The last time I was there they had moved the big Spa to the golf course - the Spa is gorgeous! As far as preference, I like the Sunrise side better, but everyone has their own preferences.

I just pulled out my paperwork - Private dinner function: $400 per table of 10 includes standard white decor - (tablecloth, folding chairs, and napkins) includes function space, menu, 2 hours open bar buffet and plated dinner require a min of 20 people (So minimum of $800) plated indoor only additional hours of service $60 per table They also say that private functions have to be reserved at least 60 days prior. Other fees apply to any centerpeice, flower, audiovisual, DJ, live music, special, decor, etc. The DJ paperwork I received -goes basic, sound system only and your music $204 all the way to DJ and sound system and lighting for 4 hours $1,050 - it looks like they all include set-up and take down. As far as the cocktail party goes - it is $400 10-20 people $600 21 - 30 people and goes up $200 increments from there. 1 hour cocktails including appetizers and additional hours are 50% off of 1st hour.

I have been to Cancun 3 times in July. Heat, no worries.....June, July, August, rain....maybe. I am having my ceremony at 5pm....most of the heat and rain have passed by then. If it rains, though, all weddings have an immediate inside backup. We are not having a reception outside - Pookie can probably tell you more about that. Here is our timeline.... Ceremony 5-5:30 - Chapel Gazebo Pictures 5:30 -6:00 Cocktail 5:30 - 7:00 - Chapel Garden Dinner 7:30 - ?? Barracuda (Steak house) After?? probably go to main lobby bar and then disco - if we are not smashed by then ) the restaurants available for parties of greater than 10 are: Nizuc Side El Manglar (this is buffet though) Arrecifes (buffet) Palapa Delfines (buffet) no more than 25 pax Palapa Pelicanos (Buffet) no more than 25 pax Sunrise La Gondola (buffet) but have seen wedding parties there before Bugambilias (buffet) Palapa Fragata (buffet) Palapa Barracuda Based on this information - the only restaurant that served greater than 10 people for the included dinner were buffet except for the Barracuda. I could not see getting up in a wedding gown and serving myself (at least not in a public forum). If you do not mind doing this, your options are wide open. Also, if you are having the dinner on a different time - your options are open. If you are having a private function $400 for table of 10 - then you do not have anything to worry about. DJ Packages vary from $204 - and up What else would you like to know )

Hi Melissa, I was told the cocktail party consists of high tables and chairs, your choice of appetizers (from their list), location of your choice (from their list), and drinks for 1 hour. If you want music, you will have to purchase the sound system package which I believe is $204. Anything that you have purchased for your wedding i.e. flowers will be moved to the location for you. If you have a cake, it will begin at your ceremony and will be moved to your dinner location unless you specify wanting it at the cocktail. Our WC suggested, due to the heat, we should just have it moved to our dinner locale. We are having our ceremony at the Chapel gazebo and the cocktail party in the chapel garden right after the ceremony and before the dinner - the chapel area is absolutely stunning! Dinner.....you will be some what seperated from the rest of the restaurant. If you are having 20+ people Los Caporales will not work - they say only up to 10 people. I have the restaurant listing and amount of people you are allowed to have at each if you are interested. I have recently received a bunch of information from the resort if anyone is interested in more details. Take care.

Our children and and about 15-20 close friends will be there. But we would go with it if no one showed up! I am right with Dbell on this one and funny...in the exact same boat. Remember.....this is your day - you and your fiance will remember it forever and what you will remember mostly is what the two of you did and the love you feel. It is not who attends that make the moment, it is the two of you who make it. Destination weddings weed out a lot of people in a lot of circumstances. If it is in your heart to have the ocean behind you - have the ocean behind you ) You will regret it if you do not. After all.....you can renew your vows later and it will be just as beautiful. I will be in Cancun July 18 to 28, so we will be there while you are there, maybe we can meet up or something. I just finally been assigned a WC and have been trying to iron out some details. I'm a bit disappointed with the way they do things, we have the superior package, which includes a bridal bouquet, some flowers for the ceremony, photo package and cake. They free bouquet pictures provided by the WC didn't look like what i wanted, so i asked if I can use the price of the free one towards a better bouquet, the answer is no, you cannot use the value of any of the free stuff (which is not really free, you pay for it in the package) towards other products. You can choose to forgo your included things and buy a new bouquet for $240. Same goes for photo packages and cake. Had I known, I would have done the free package, and purchased my own stuff on top of it. Oh well, thought you girls should know. Pookie - words of wisdom from someone not only much older, but someone who is also doing the whole package deal (and is an accountant) ). Write down everything you have included in the Superior package and its cost - write down everything you want and its costs - compare the two -- call your WC in Miami and see if you can keep the date and time and change the kind of ceremony to the free civil. She will tell you yes and send you a new contract and refund you everything you have paid so far. I know this part from doing it myself. Then, let your WC in Cancun know everything "you" want. They have to do it your way if you do this - not theirs. You will pay for it yourself when you get there. I started out with a package and then didn't like what there was in its entirety, so just recently I have changed it to the free package. By getting the "free" package I am able to purchase things that I want, not because they come with it, but because I want them. In my case, the cost is just a little more, but I am happier. In your case, you may even get it just a little cheaper and be happy ) Everything is still available to you - you will just have the liberty to chose. You being a member do not need the massage and stuff because it is already included. Just words of advice! Don't get discouraged - it is your day and you should have everything you want. ) Good luck. Or.......you can do it Dez's way and throw holy hell their way ) Nicole

Good morning Dez - Thanks ) I have heard different things about the whole bride issue and not too sure how I feel about it. Sometimes I feel dumb being in this forum,. but oh well - I really need the information I am getting and I appreciate all of it ) I love fushia! I think that is why the flowers really intrigued me. Although I do not really have "attendants" per se - My daughter (13 y.o. MoH) and best friend are wearing Navy - not my favorite color but that was my husband's idea ) He is wearing his dress Blues and thought it would be neat. My daughter is wearing navy blue - his exact color - and ivory - my exact color and looks absolutely beautiful with the combined colors of her mom and dad. I cannot decide on a color flower or type for that matter that will look elegant with the dresses. Navy came to mind, but that seems too drab for an island type of wedding ) I am at a complete loss here. I have looked at different silk flower websites and so far none of them have "wowed" me - and guess what we are pretty much running out of time ) We still have to get our sons clothing taken care of - remember when I said we can't decide if they should be wearing tux's....well we still don't know ) However insightful I am on the whole marriage thing - the wedding has me at a complete loss.

How many guests are going to yours? Are you doing OOT bags? I am trying to figure out what to put in them ) So far we have our ceremony booked, placed picked out, dinner plans made, and cocktail party arrangments made - not too sure what else I should do and how I incorporate my children in this! Hope all is well!

Hi Dez....... I have been meaning to ask you this----- where did you get the pictures of the bridal bouquets? I love them! I still have to get flowers, etc and am very undecisive on what I want. I cannot go elaborate and do not know if I should do ivory to match my dress. Do you think that would be bad if I did knowing that I am not a "real bride"? We finally found the ring I am going to get - oh gosh, it is beautiful! We have been looking at rings for some time now and I wasn't sold on the idea of a new diamond or a bigger diamond ring. I would love to post a picture if you are interested in seeing it! It is amazing - and very unique. I am spoiled and very surprised we actually bought it. take care!
