  1. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone used the Dreams PV onsite photographer as well... Or if you bought one of the resort packages (we are looking at the non-free ones), and hired an offsite photographer, did you get any break on the price? or could you use the onsite photographer including in the package along with your off-site photographer? (does that make any sense? lol) Thanks! Jenn
  2. We spent a week in Punta Cana in March and never did any excursions... The resort had plenty to keep us busy (including keeping our 10 year old amused!)... From what I understood from some of the folks we met at the resort, the excursions were somewhat pricey... I guess it all depends on what resort you are staying at! Jenn
  3. Thanks for the info! We were just chatting about attire last night! Jenn
  4. there's definitely a time and a place for FB but RSVPing for a wedding, shower or other formal event is NOT one of them!!! Here's a fun one... a friend of a friend sent their wedding invites out through FB as a FB event!!! Can you believe that?!? Mind you, their wedding was held in the back 40 with a motorhome as the "bathroom" and storage space for the beer... I think the bride and groom slept in it too on their wedding night... good times, lol! Jenn
  5. Congrats and Welcome Jen!! We're tying the knot at Dreams in PV! Jenn
  6. Welcome Casey! We're getting married in Mexico too - Dreams Puerto Vallarta hopefully! Jenn
  7. Welcome to the forum Janice! Congrats! Jenn
  8. I am trying to plan my upcoming wedding at Dreams PV and am trying to decide between the onsite WC and an offsite one... I am feeling a little panicky - we have a list of "probable guests" that adds up to about 38 ppl... We all know though that you can't count on probable - you have to wait until people make their deposit... If I go with an outside WC, I am looking at a fairly significant cost, which I don't mind paying IF I have those 30+ guests... If I only end up with half (or less) the guests (12-16), I am concerned that the cost using the outside coordinator will be too high when its all said and done... I have tried to contact the WC at Dreams so that I can compare pricing, etc and make some sort of decision... I have sent two emails and still nothing (its been two weeks)... I need to get moving and firm up a date, etc! I can find lots of info from people about their experiences with the outside WC... Can anyone provide me with more insight on having the Dreams WC take care of all the details? If the onsite WC takes care of things, what little things do I need to worry about on top of that? Am I panicking for no reason? Thanks!! Jenn

    Hi :)

Welcome Summer! I just recently joined and found a ton of info! You have certainly come to the right place! Jenn
  10. Thanks for the insight! We have decided to go with a WC off-resort and I feel like no matter what the cost, it will be money well spent!! Jenn
  11. We have always stayed in a condo in Zona Romantica (Also called Old Town) and love the ambiance and culture of that area... There are several condos available along Los Muertos beach... The one thing I really enjoyed about being in the condo was walking down to the fish market early in the morning and picking up huge fresh shrimp and fish for the day's meals... and fresh tortillas from the tortilla factory... yummy!! I wish I was there now!! In the evenings we would just walk down Olas Altas and stop in at whatever place along the way for a bucket of beers... there are many and you can just take in the atmosphere... or head down to the Malecon for a really romantic walk.... There are many great restaurants, pubs, etc in that area (Freddie Tucan's is a great place for breakie!)... Pipis is a "must-do" but go hungry! The portion sizes are gargantuan! Its very popular and there is often a lineup of people waiting in chairs along the sidewalk but they move people through pretty quickly. We have always taken friends new to PV there for the experience! Lots of laughs... we even joked with my mom (who goes to PV every year for the past 15 and has had her fill of Pipis) that we were doing our wedding reception there! LOL - she just about fainted! I almost wanted to do PV that way for our wedding, except we don't want to cook, etc and we don't want to have to worry about our guests doing the same thing so we picked Dreams (an AI) so that we were only a quick cab ride away from Old Town! Jenn
  12. This is an awesome thread! I am just at the beginning of my planning and reading everyone's "would dos" and "wouldn't dos" is really helpful! Keep 'em coming! Jenn
