Good news! I wish the nurses wouldn't leave messages like that still...they must know that it makes the patients worry!

It looks amazing. I would have never guessed these flowers were from A.C. Moore. Great job!

Processional order headache
KatyKo replied to Ayita's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I think it will be fine however you do it. I am facing the problem of one of FI's GM use to date one of my BM, but he will be attending our wedding with his present girlfriend. The way I had them lined up in my head, the two would be walking back down the isle together and I don't want anyone to be uncomfortable, so I am having to switch things around too. But honestly, in the end, I doubt anyone will care. The drinks will be flowing -
I have one. My FMIL is the sweetest woman, but sometimes she is a bit crazy. She has ADHD (diagnosed) and anyone who knows her can tell you that her meds DO NOT work! Haha. She is a full-force-ball-of-energy 24/7. So...she REALLY wants FI to be a model or an actor - really, just to be famous and make lots of money off his darn good looks. I honestly think he could do it, but he is just not that type of person (he is a high school science teacher for goodness sake). He refuses to even consider it. So FMIL is ALWAYS writing his name down for the Casablanca Modeling and anything else she sees. So one day...FI and I are heading to an art show and his phone rings. His Mom has just signed him up to be on the show "Temptation Island" - like sent in his picture and everything. I'm thinking WTF?? Right? How does she think that is going to make ME feel, that she wants him to go on this TV show where a bunch of pretty people are left to hook-up and be scandalous for the world to watch. Long story short...FI asks FMIL if she knows what the show is about and of course, she doesn't. She was so embarrassed when he told her what the show was...but seriously...don't you think you would figure that out before entering your already engaged son to be on it? Haha. Craziness!!

This has nothing to do with my DW, but it does have to do with my parents forking out dough to help my sister - so I thought I'd share! My sister graduated college in 2007. She started working full-time at the office where she worked part-time during college. When she changed to full-time she didn't update her tax information, so she only forked out $300 for the entire year, because that is how much she paid in taxes when she worked part-time. So when she (and when I say she, I mean my MOM) did her taxes, she owed the government over $3,000. Yes, that sucks a ton, but that just means that she was pocketing all that money through the whole year that you and I were paying in taxes, right? My parents are paying it for her and not asking her to pay them back...and she isn't offering or arguing that she should. How is that fair? So she spends the entire 2008 shopping with money I was paying in taxes, and now she is off scott-free? Sounds like B-S to me!!! Whew, I feel better now

Side question: Did you ladies wear a garter? I'm not sure if I'm doing the toss yet, but I didn't know if you still wore a garter to your DW...
-
I'm thinking there is no helping me, whatsoever. I plan to wear waterproof mascera and make my vows lighthearted and not sappy...but I'm still afraid the waterworks will ruin my pictures. I bawled like a baby when he asked me to marry him, so oh well!!

FI GIft- Vintage Map Cufflinks

These books are amazing...I just emailed you to find out about them Quote: Originally Posted by Dayla911 I agree very very cute! What does OOT mean? booked BD session & have a question
KatyKo replied to aimee!'s topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
I don't think those prices are too unreasonable, but you only get the book with that? Do you have the options of getting other stuff? Have you asked why you can't have rights to your photos? Normally, I know it is pretty expensive to do so, but I haven't really seen any who just won't let you. My photog gave me the rights, but also had a form for me to sign so she could use the photos in her marketing materials, BD website, etc... -
my e-session is this sun (yikes)
KatyKo replied to Jacqueline's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
I felt a bit cheesy at first, especially when she was making us look at each other. But after a while I started to enjoy it and was sad when it was over...same with my BD pics though. I think it all has to do with how comfy your photog makes you -
Hi Ladies! So sorry it has taken me so long to update you all. I had a crazy weekend and haven't been by my computer until now. I took the test when I got home Friday and it was negative! WOOHOO!! I did find out that I can hold my breath for almost 2 minutes haha Thanks for everyone's words of advice. It is nice to know I'm not alone in my freaking out about this haha

They both said their doctor told them that this pill slows it down A LOT- so some months you may not get it at all! So I really think you have nothing to worry about- it really does sound like it happens to be this pill that you're now on. Having said that, I have to agree with everyone else and just to ease your mind, I would take a home pregnancy test. I went off the pill back in July because I thought it was causing me stomach pains. I didn't get my period for a few months (which is normal for me when I'm not on the pill) but I took a test just to ease my mind. It was negative, but I didn't get my period until last night- EIGHT MONTHS LATER!!! Good luck and try not to worry!!! Thank you very much. It is good to know others are having this problem too. Nice of my doctor to fill me in on what happens when you change pills - I guess I should have known. I'm going to take a test this afternoon to make sure. But I can definitely tell my cycle is ALL screwed up. Thanks to everyone - y'all really know how to make a girl calm down and feel better!

I think that either would be nice to give to your party. I'm sure they would love to have an album with highlights of the week. -
Surprise Dance for guests...and the Groom!
KatyKo replied to Candice's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Ohhh you have to share a video with us when you do it! That sounds like so much fun -
FI's parents are helping pay for our AHR and they suggested BBQ. We may do that - but I don't eat pork so I would rather have something else. I want to do a Low Country Boil - shrimp, corn on the cob, red potatoes and sausage. You can serve slaw with it and cocktail sauce and it is YUMMY! My Papaw is from Savannah so he could bring me some fresh shrimp for it. But if it comes down to price, we will probably stick with BBQ and I'll just ask for some chicken or something for myself!

I just want to reassure you that you are probably NOT pregnant, however, if you are as worried as you sound (*hugs* poor girl!), I think you should take a pregnancy test just in case. Like I said, I don't think you are pregnant, but if you are....what do you plan to do? (Hope you don't mind my asking, if not, please just ignore this question) I'm just wondering. Stay strong, I'm sure you're just fine! We use double protection as well. If for some reason I am preggos...I will cry...ALOT! haha! If I am preggo then I guess that it is my time (even though I REALLY don't think it is). Thanks for everyone's words...it is helping calm me down

I think it was called Lo-estrin (not sure), but when I asked my doctor he said it was perfectly normal and that a lot of pills now don't make you get your period as regularly as some of the other ones. I'm sure your body is just adjusting to a new one, but I would go online or ask your doctor if he's heard of this before. Good luck! i think lo-estrin is what they switched me to. i just can't stop thinking that i'm preggo!! its driving me nuts

i'm freaking out. i have been taking bc pills since i was in high school - because of bad periods - way before i ever had sex. i just recently decided to switch pills because i felt like i was starting to see weird side effects from them...and after researching, i think they might be worse than i thought - but that is another situation. so the new pills i'm on have to be taken for 3 1/2 weeks instead of 3 weeks like my previous pills. obviously, the first month i was on them, my body thought it was time for my period after 3 weeks - but i kept taking the pills trying to get my body adjusted to the new ones. so i sort of had my period, but not full on like i normally do. once it was time to actually happen, it didn't because i guess my body was confused. well this is the 2nd month on the pills and i have spotted a little but not had my full on period at all. i have had a few days of cramps (like i had in high school) and thats about it. so of course, i start to think i'm preggo (because that is something that scares me to death). according to the pills i should have started yesterday, but i didn't. i keep telling myself that it is just because of the new pills. i have also gained a little weight, which i know is also a side effect of the bc pills - but again, i keep thinking i'm preggo. so today, my co-worker told me i was glowing. oh...crap. i can't be preggo. fi and i are sooo safe and i am trying to not have sex much lately because i didn't want to get preggo before the wedding - especially not within the last 3 months before my wedding. i keep thinking i should go get a test, but i have never done that before and honestly i'm scared it is going to be positive. you ladies are the only people i could vent to. i'm too scared to talk to anyone else!!

What's something you saw at a wedding that made you swear...
KatyKo replied to yamille's topic in Random Thoughts
I went to a wedding last summer that had me swearing the whole time. It was a girl I went to high school with, who I hadn't seen but a few times since. She got married at this place called "The Lakes" - which were more like swamps. The ceremony was set on a hill so when you leaned slightly to one side, your chair almost tipped over. They stood in a gazebo to get married and the Groom was so tall, you couldn't see his head. They had Michael Bolton music blaring from a speaker on the top of the building. The preacher said the wrong names. No alcohol at the reception and they had us sitting at a table in the corner down a hallway, so we couldn't see what was going on with the couple from our table. Lets just say, we needed a couple of shots just to make it through that one. HORRIBLE!!! The worst part, she offered her planning help with my wedding because she had planned this wedding for over 2 years!! Wow.
