  1. I asked my girls about a month after...I could have done it sooner but I was waiting for FI to decide who his guys were going to be. He still hasn't decided though, so I went ahead and asked my 2 girls anyway! We'll likely have an uneven number on each side but I'm OK with that. Better than adding someone you don't want or taking away someone important just because you "have" to, IMO.
  2. Yeah, you'll have to pay $85 per guest for each guest who isn't staying at Dreams to come to your ceremony/reception. Just something to keep in mind as it can add up quick!

    Hello

You definitely came to the right place! You'll find lots of information on here. Congrats and welcome!
  4. I emailed her about a month ago and haven't gotten a response. So I went with Maye instead.
  5. September is definitely the worst month, weather-wise. I'd say that's something you definitely need to consider! Whether or not you want a wedding co-ordinator (WC) will depend on which resort/location you choose to have your ceremony and reception at. Some girls have the reception at the same place they stay all week, and some girls go off-site. That's probably your first decision to make! Everyone here will be more than willing to help you!
  6. I love your hair! I wish mine would go like that. Dress is beautiful too.
  7. I agree with Maura - I love the hair flower and earrings! The shoes are amazing too - nice work!
  8. I love those! I don't think I have a Michaels close to me though...

Congrats and welcome to the Forum!
  10. Welcome to the Forum from a fellow Canadian!
  11. Cabo doesn't really have the bright aqua water, and most of the beaches aren't swimmable.
  12. Chesty Leather-thong! Ha! This is too funny.
  13. Congratulations on your engagement, and welcome to the forum! You definitely came to the right place
  14. My FI is in sales for a global sports company. I make quite a bit more than he does, but he loves his job which is worth everything! Plus he gets amazing perks and a great bonus which probably equates to about the same amount that I make. So we're pretty even for now.
  15. I'm a November 2009 bride, and I don't think I'm going to start going hardcore on the diet/working out until about 6 months before...if I try to do any longer than that, I'll crack and totally bail out on everything! I need a short, realistic timeline. I only have about 10 pounds to lose, plus a bunch of tightening up/toning, so hopefully I can do that in 6 months (although it's really hard for me to lose weight for some reason).
  16. I totally agree with tvt! I don't LOVE my job, but I don't hate it either. The pay is pretty good but I know it could be more if I wanted to do something else. I'm a Chartered Accountant and I work in the Finance department of one of Canada's big entertainment companies. If I wanted to do internal audit or SOX or something I'm sure I could make more than I do, but I choose to do something that doesn't make me want to poke my eye out, LOL. Right now I'm doing budgeting and forecasting for all of our TV stations. I did have a quarter-life crisis a couple of years ago and I actually considered being a wedding planner! I'm very organized and obviously good at budgeting so I thought I would be a good fit...but I started watching some wedding programs on TV and I realized that if I was working with a bride who was picking ugly stuff, I wouldn't be able to shut my mouth and not say anything...so there goes that dream! It doesn't help that my FI LOVES his job, and I'm totally jealous of that. It's inspiring but really hard to find.
  17. I had Great Lengths extensions (the ones that bond to your head, strand by strand). I liked the way they looked at first, but they get annoying really fast. When your natural hair falls out, but it can't go anywhere because it's glued to the extension, you end up getting a slight dreadlock effect after a few months. I think you can go to a salon and have them "cleaned up" but after the 4 month mark I was ready to have them taken out! The most annoying things for me were: 1) not being able to properly brush my hair - they give you a different hair brush and you never really feel like you are brushing your hair properly, since the brush doesn't touch your scalp. 2) You can't wear your hair up without the bonds being seen around the sides and back of your head. 3) You really have to fully style your hair every day. I'm used to just throwing my hair up in a ponytail every once in awhile to give it a break, and I couldn't do that with extensions. When you wake up in the morning, your hair looks gross because it's all flat and the extensions are really obvious. Having said all of that, I did love the way they looked when I styled them properly. I got mine done in London Ontario and it was about $600. I've considered getting them again but I think I would look into the clip-on ones instead...having extensions for 4-6 months straight is a big commitment and a lot of work!
  18. I agree - include her, but call to ask what to give her. You don't want her to feel awkward...
  19. I have the Restore & Renew, but I hate how the tube is so small, so you have to re-buy often. I stopped using it becasue of that! Plus I didn't see any major change but maybe that's because I only went through one tube....
  20. Alyssa, where are your bags from? Nice and simple...I like them.
  21. I don't think we'll be trying for kids anytime soon. I really do want to enjoy our time as husband and wife without children...plus we have a dog already, and he's SO much work that it's definitely showed me that I'm not ready for kids yet!
  22. Hmmm...I like that. I think I will probably do that too.
  23. Welcome Neysa! I just sent you a request for a pricing quote as well. Looks like you might get a lot of business from this forum!
