  1. I guess it depends on when you know how many people will be coming...otherwise, how do you know how much stuff to buy?
  2. In my opinion, you should wait until after the ceremony to wear your wedding band...but if you're OK with it, I guess you could do whatever you want (I'm not very traditional). But it's more fun if you wait I think! Plus people might be confused...if you wear it now, everyone will think you're already married...?
  3. Cute shoes! I know the type of dress you're talking about...I think the effect is called Ombre.
  4. Yes I totally think price will affect whether or not guests will come! I was able to negotiate a pretty good rate with my TA and now I'm afraid it might actually be TOO good and that too many people will come now. But oh well - I have to keep reminding myself that the more people there are, the more fun it will be! I'll worry about paying for all of it later...
  5. On People.com they say his name is Levi Alves McConaughey. I like how they used her last name as the baby's middle name...I'm definitely doing that with my son too (when I have one) since my last name is a guy's name!
  6. Great pics! We're going there Aug 1-4, I can't wait!

We are "locked in" with our group rate from here on out. So say we have extra people who decide to go, they will still be able to get the group discount, since we booked 10 rooms already. OK good, this is what I'm asking for too, and I just think it's strange that some of them will do it and some of them won't! I never thought it would be so difficult. The scary thing is the clause on the bottom of the contract: Prices and availability quoted are subject to change (at the sole discretion of our suppliers and are due to space sellout/demand) at any time until full payment has been received and tickets have been issued. Does that not mean that they can increase the rate whenever they want anyway?! Scary.
  9. I would definitely book before sending out your STD's. I was planning on having our wedding on one date, only to find out after getting a few quotes that Sunquest decided to cancel flights that week. Things are always changing, and prices are definitely increasing (unless you are comfortable waiting until 3 weeks before to book your trip!). With gas prices the way they are, I think booking asap is the right way to go. But it's whatever you feel comfortable with. I would suggest getting lots of quotes from lots of different places, because each quote I've gotten has been different, and if you find a TA you like, they will probably price match to the lower rate.
  10. I'm just wondering what kind of arrangements people have had with their TA's in regards to holding group rates. Some of the TA's I've contacted said the rate can ONLY be held for the people who put the deposits down by a certain date (usually within a week). After that, anyone in our group who books will be subject to the rate at the time. A couple of other TA's I've spoken to said they can hold the rate for the group (or, say, 60 people) once I put 10 deposits down. This seems to make more sense to me - after all, what is the point in getting a group rate if you can't hold it for members of your group? What have you guys experienced? Am I being too picky in wanting the rate held for everyone?

Guess I should have looked at the bottle before I posted that. I think Adderall is the drug that Nicole Ritchie was apparently taking when she got scary skinny a few years ago. I think a lot of celebrities use it to lose weight (i.e. Ashley Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, etc).
  12. Have a great time! Can't wait to read your review and see pics when you're back!
  13. I love the personalized cup idea! I might steal this one. I'm not very crafy (yet) though so I'll have to see what I can come up with!
  14. I wonder what the baby's name will be...celebrities always choose the most random names!
  15. This is from People.com: Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves Have a Boy By Elizabeth Leonard Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend of two years Camila Alves have welcomed a son Monday night, his rep Alan Nierob confirms to PEOPLE. The baby – the first child for both – was born at 6:22 p.m. in Los Angeles, weighing in at 7 lbs., 4 oz. "They're so happy!" said a close pal. In January PEOPLE's former Sexiest Man Alive announced the couple were expecting on his website. "Camila and I made a baby together...," he wrote at the time. "We are stoked and wowed." McConaughey's oldest brother, Rooster, shared their elation. "Oh, it's going to be fun!" he told PEOPLE. "He'll make a really good dad because he's got a lot of patience. I'm excited for him. It's about time." Alves, a model and handbag designer, recently told PEOPLE she plans to take time off once the baby arrives. "More important than anything is that I have a peaceful life and a peaceful home," she said.

  17. Wow, this is a toughie. I agree though, it seems to be your mom's doing, so maybe she should handle this. Can she tell her that you guys decided to cut way back on the guest list? That you went over your budget and realized you couldn't afford to have so many people?
  18. This is a good thread...my FI and I were just talking about this last night. Our invite list is sitting at around 120 right now but I don't want any more than 60...I'm afraid!
  19. OK good - I was wondering this same thing on the weekend when I went dress shopping. Phew!

I'm worried I'm in the exact same boat as you...I'm basically going to book all of my vendors myself, but I booked her so that she can completely organize the day of the wedding and make sure everything is showing up when it's supposed to, and set up the proper way. $800 is a lot to pay for that so she better be PERFECT at it! I think we just have to let her know in advance that we expect a lot and make sure we send her a time-table before the wedding with a lot of detail on it...?
  21. Yay! I'm glad your day was so perfect. I can't wait to see pics!
  22. HA! I love that so much! Thanks for sharing
