Wedding Coordinators recomendations
*Heather* replied to theinquizitivegroom's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Can anyone give me the contact info (email address?) for Amy Abbott? I tried doing the "contact" thing on their website and nobody got back to me, so I'd like to email her directly and get a price quote. Thanks! -

OMG Ana, you are gorgeous in that dress! I'm with Edyta - I'm at your next dress fitting for sure -
Hey girls! OK so I finally heard back from Tait today. Here is the email I got: Hi Heather, Thanks for contacting me and organizing a possible boudoir marathon for Toronto. The sitting fee per person would be $225. I can also offer these two options as well: Session + Disc of High resolution images: $475 Session + Album with 10 images: $475 There is no maximum number of girls, we can accommodate all that are interested. However if there were at least 10 I could reduce the price to $200. About what month or time of year are you interested in having the sessions done? Usually I am able to arrange a makeup artist in the $80 range. Do you think you would be interested in having a makeup artist? If you think there is interest I will look into hotels to hold it at. Do you have any suggestions? OK so there's the info! Thoughts?

16 Secrets The Restaurant Industry Doesn't Want You to Know
*Heather* replied to *Casey*'s topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Great....I read this just as I'm heading off for 4 days of eating out at every meal! Haha. But this is a good eye-opener...definitely gives me the motivation to eat more at home. Yikes. That was pretty scary. -
My friend Kristen was in Hairspray too! It was filmed here in Toronto, she was one of the backup dancers

I predict Mark and Courtney...but who knows really! This show can be a shocker sometimes...

I'm going to add that to my list...we were going to rent bikes in Central Park and ride around but a hot air balloon could be fun!

Thanks! I wish Paris was in the budget right now, LOL.

Anyone have Sirius? and listen to Cosmo Radio 111???
*Heather* replied to Amarillis's topic in Random Thoughts
We have Sirius, but it's always stuck on Howard Stern. Matie is slightly obsessed and I can't deny, I kinda love it too Now that XM and Sirius are merging, there will be sooo many new stations for everyone! -

On any given day you can see A-Rod and the Princess of some country there. Hmmm, I've never heard of this one - I'll have to check it out for sure. You can also have lunch at Da Silvano or the more affordable Bar Pitti right next door. A lot of celebrities lunch there b/c they will be spotted by papparazzi. Its like NYC's equivalant of the Ivy. Also if you just walk around the Village you are more likely than not to spot some celebrities. Most of them live there and are always walking around and running their errands. Do you like sneakers? There are great sneaker stores in SOHO and the village that sell sneakers you can't get anywhere else. Matie is obsessed with sneakers - he works for adidas though so that's the only brand he can wear. But he's always on the lookout for things you can't get anywhere else and he LOVES sneaker stores. For nightclubs I would recommend Mansion of Tenjune. If you get there earlier then you should have no problem getting in. A couple of other good places to have dinner...Tao, Buddha Bar, Budakon, Koi, these are all Japanese places but they are usually bumping and you can stay there after dinner for drinks and dancing. Thanks so much Glenda - there is so much info in here, I'm going to have to print this whole page out or something!

Wow thanks everyone! This is soooo good. 1) I LOVE Italian so I'm definitely going to check out both of those places...the one with the Tomato Soup AND the one with the fettucine, haha. 2) I haven't been to the MoMA, but I heard you can kill like 5 hours there? I think if it rains this is at the top of our to-do list. 3) I haven't seen a broadway show in NYC and I really want to. I'm going to try to convince FI to see Wicked with me on Sunday night. 4) I read somewhere about the rooftop of the Empire Hotel...I might have to check that out again... Thanks for everything so far! Keep the ideas coming!

Going to Toronto or Montreal for Sept. mini-moon...I think
*Heather* replied to Maura's topic in Random Thoughts
Hey Maura! Here are some quick thoughts on each. Toronto - since you live in Chicago (which I LOVE), I don't know if you'll find Toronto all that impressive. But if you do decide to come here, you don't need to rent a car. You can take a taxi from the airport to your hotel, and then get all around the city without a car. Places you should go: Distillery District - this is a cool unique area with lots of neat little shops and delicious restaurants. One of my favourite pubs is in here. Beaches - this is another cute area but it's about 15-20 mins from downtown. There is a boardwalk and a nice family atmosphere. Little Italy - if you love Italian, this is the place to come to eat! There are some really yummy places on College Street...mmmm I love pasta. Hippo Tour - I always see this tour bus going around town that converts into a boat at some point and takes you in the water too. That might be fun. Toronto Island - there are ferries that take you over to Toronto island. Not a ton to do on the island but it's a fun ferry ride and you get a great view of the Toronto skyline Yorkville - this is our "posh" area. Bloor street is our version of Rodeo I guess, and the cute streets of Yorkville behind it are fun to see. There are lots of expensive little shops and yummy restaurants there. Yonge/Dundas square - this is our version of Times Square and it's right beside the Eaton Centre. It's getting more and more "bright" as time goes on. Toronto FC - if you want to see a sports team, check to see if the Toronto FC (soccer) are playing that weekend. FC games are SO MUCH FUN! The atmosphere is great. Montreal - if you want a "European" experience, Montreal is definitely your place. Especially Old Montreal. I've only been to Montreal twice so I don't have a ton of recommendations, but Matie has been a lot and he LOVES it there. Besides Old Montreal, you can climb Mont Royal in the middle of the city and get a great view of Montreal. For a restaurant I recommend "L'Academie" - you can bring your own wine in here and the food is delicious! Plus the atmosphere is really cool. Also, you HAVE to have poutine while you're there! My favourite is at a place called Frite Alors! I think it's on St. Laurent. The poutine places are always really busy after people leave the bars and clubs Also we went to a supper club called Buenanotte - I had the best gnocchi there (again with the pasta) and then it turns into a really fun club after. That's all I got! If you have any other specific questions, feel free to email me. I'm sure you'll have fun in either place! H -
Hey NYC girls (and anyone else I guess!) We're heading to NYC tomorrow morning for 3 nights - I'm so excited, NYC is one of my favourite cities. We're staying in the lower east side and will probably spend most of our time in Soho/West Village - any ideas of places we should go? Restaurants or places to go out at night? It's always better to get info from "locals" as we usually don't like doing the touristy things. I should mention I've been twice before so I've already done the Times Square thing The only thing we have planned is a Yankee game so we have lots of time to kill! Any ideas??

Going to Toronto or Montreal for Sept. mini-moon...I think
*Heather* replied to Maura's topic in Random Thoughts
Hey Maura! I have tons of info for you, but I'm heading out the door so I'll have to log on later or tomorrow and fill you in. No worries Alyssa, I actually agree with you...Montreal definitely is more "romantic." Toronto is great to live, but for a "vacation" Montreal probably is better. There are some gorgeous areas, amazing restaurants, and good shopping too. You don't have to speak French to be able to get around either. I'll write more later! If you decide to consider Montreal I can give you some ideas for things to do there as well... -
Help me pick my earrings...
*Heather* replied to Alyssa's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I LOVE the first ones...the different colour is nice, and I like that they're a bit thinner. All of the choices are pretty though! Looks like everyone has different opinions This is going to be a tough decision!
