We have a similar issue - only inviting immediate family, and unfortunately FI's aunts and cousins are REALLY pissed about it. They are blaming me behind my back but whatever, I'm trying to let it not bother me (because the real reason they aren't invited is because FI hates them but it will cause way too many problems if they know that). So I have to let them carry on about how it's my fault that they aren't invited...whatever. We're continuing with our original plans and assuming that this will all blow over in time. Don't let them change your plans of what you want to do. They have to get over it eventually right? It seems like such a big deal right now, but once it's over, they'll have to drop the issue. If you bend and have a wedding you don't want you might always regret it

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear that! It seems to be a more common thing to hear these days though, unfortunately. It sounds like he's a great employee though so hopefully he will be able to find something else pretty quickly. And hopefully the economy will start to look up too! Hugs.

Hey there! Our group is leaving out of Toronto and we got a group rate to Cabo for $1562. We only had to put down a deposit for 10 people to save the rate, not the entire group. I went through a lot of the same things as you when I was looking last summer. PM me if you want more info.

How bad was the airfare out of curiosity?

We're not really doing a "theme," but our inspiration is indie/retro/glam. I know that's kinda vague and maybe doesn't seem to go together, but I think it will all make sense when it comes together. We're keeping everything pretty simple when it comes to decor so the only places you will really see the "theme" are in our guestbook (doing polaroids with a fun "dress up" station to take fun pics), our invites, and any of our paperwork (programs, menu cards etc).
