I love this movie! I love HIMYM too so maybe it attracts the same type of people I've seen this movie twice and I'd totally watch it again...maybe I need to buy it! The Turtle Bay Resort actually had a "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" package you could get that included 5 nights in one of those cottages and a bunch of extras. I was considering it for our honeymoon too for awhile but we decided to go somewhere else in Hawaii. That resort looks gorgeous though!

Jess, I haven't been told that I have to pay any fee for my vendors either. In most cases the vendors I'm using are "Dreams approved vendors" anyway so I think that has something to do with it.

Jessica I'm so sorry to hear this! My heart breaks for you and your FI and your families. I'm with Josie though - the wedding will be a positive thing for everyone to look forward to, which is what you will all need. Your FFIL wouldn't want you to cancel. Big HUGE hugs!

I'm with the others on this one. FI has some ladies that flirt with him at work too, and honestly, I take it as a compliment. I completely trust him and if they want to flirt with him, it just shows me that I picked a good one I think you're going into the situation with a "guilty until proven innocent" attitude as opposed to an "innocent until proven guilty" attitude. I know you've been cheated on in the past but you can't punish your FI for this. If he's been trustworthy so far you have to trust that he will stay that way. If you don't, your relationship is really going to suffer

Well they would have refunded us everything if we cancelled everything. But we decided to keep the room block through them and just book our flights separately. The crappiest part was that our guests had to pay for their entire trip within 2 weeks (this was about a month ago) instead of having another few months before the final balance was due. This was a huge pain in the butt to most people and pissed me off but there was nothing we could do. Everything is pretty much sorted out now, but I was super pissed at the time! These are the joys of dealing with Cdn tour operators

^Me too. Sunquest cancelled our trips altogether! We had to rebook everything separately and now we're flying AeroMexico and connecting in Mexico City, which sucks but at least we can still go. We're trying to focus on the positives. We didn't get any money back or discounts due to this change

When we booked our trip through Sunquest we were told that our departure date could change. It's always a risk with sunquest. So I made sure our wedding date was in the middle of the week and I didn't order anything with our wedding date on it. I wish your TA would have told you in the beginning that this could happen...unfortunately it happens with Sunquest all the time Sorry to hear about it though, I know it's a major PITA! Don't be depressed...none of your guests will care that the wrong wedding date is in your stuff! You could take a sharpie to everything and kinda make it funny...everyone will laugh it off. I promise that after awhile you'll see that it isn't that big of a deal...you can still get married and have everyone you love there, right? Try to focus on the positives

This is JUST MY OPINION, but I think it would be pretty rude to have a stag and doe when you're having a DW. I don't love stag and doe's to begin with (the point of giving a wedding gift is to pay for your food and bev at the wedding...why do you need to give money at a stag and doe too??) but for DW's I really don't think it's appropriate. Your friends and loved ones are already forking out money to come to your wedding, and generally the cost of DW's are lower (not always, but if you choose to spend more that's your choice) so it just seems weird to me to throw a party asking for money. Again, this is just my opinion...sorry if I pissed anyone off! I'm just against stag and doe's and I always have been.

My FI had a discussion with my dad - not sure if it was for "permission" or for a blessing or whatever...but I think it was more out of tradition than anything. It's not like he was worried that my dad was going to say no or anything

Debs I've TOTALLY read that article about closing the lid before you flush, so I make FI do that ALL the time now! It grossed me out so much. It said that the fecal matter can "spray" up to 6 feet away!!! Ewwwwww! I also am pretty careful now with putting everything on our bathroom counter away if possible. It scared me so much I'll never forget it! As for the sheets, I aim for every week but sometimes it's 10 days to 2 weeks before I change them. Whoopsies.

FYI for anyone that cares... Yarai told me that the speaker system on the beach is super hidden and that you can't see it at all, but that you can definitely hear it for both the beach ceremony and the beach cocktail hour. So I think we decided to go with that. FI is really picky about music and he wants definite input into what songs are playing for both the ceremony and cocktail hour. I just see it as more work for us (more on our playlist!) but whatever! It will be nice to have it a bit more personalized I guess...
